The back door on the truck would stick and it was very, very difficult to open past a certain point. I wrenched my shoulder trying to open it myself. The steering wheel range was very loose and made it hard to operate the vehicle. I could not get my tasks done because of the door issue and turned the truck in earlier as a result. Not happy with this rental at all.

My order was originally supposed to be picked up in Capon Bridge WV which is where I was moving to. Unfortunately the online pick up service would not work there because there is very little cell phone signal 6here. This was frustrating and caused a delay in my moving plans. That location needs to have other options if they are not going to have the office open during normal business hours. That being said the office in Winchester VA where my order transfered to did a fine job taking care of all the business they had going on my pickup day. A good group of guys that seemed to know what they were doing. I would definitely recommend this store to others.

So the trailer is definitely showing wear. It walked all the way to my location and back again. I could see it in my side view mirror. Not the worst thing I've had to deal with, but I could feel it in the truck

Dropped off on appointed day within the time limit, but close to closing. Staff wanted to go home could not be bothered to check us in, Told us to drop keys in drop box they'd get it in the morning. Then wanted to charge an extra day. Not the best customer service I've ever received. Other locations have been much more attentive.

Rented the cargo van and was going to deliver it to Berkeley springs wva uhaul where I live and the guy told me I could've,had to take back to Winchester,then get the sofa unloaded and get a email stating I had to have it back in 4 hours,so we took it back to Winchester, don't know why you would advertise one way and put the decal on the windshield when that is not true

I reserved the sport trailer over a month ago, showed up the day of my rental and they didn't have it on their lot. No other trailer available and said only choice was to wait the next day or to drive down to Chantilly. They did give me the $50 guarantee refund however staff seemed uninterested that they messed up and didn't follow thru to make sure I had my reservation. I understand how reservations work but they should have something in place to prevent this major inconvenience for customers. We loved the sport trailer and it was perfect for our luggage, recommend getting more of these for use. I'll be looking into renting it again for future vacations. Please don't discontinue them!

Pick up location was great, but 30 minutes prior to my reservation time I was called by Uhaul reservations and she told me that there wasn't a trailer available and that when I made the reservation I knew that it may not be available and that Uhaul would call me 48 hours prior to my reservation time. I said that's correct 48 hours not 30 minutes, she continues to tell me a agreed to this and offers me $50 credit. I asked her for a supervisor and she tells me there isn't one until Monday, after 15 minutes of this she finally informs me that there are many 6 x 12 trailers available at the same location. I ask if she is going to get me one of those at the same price and she says she can't do that, and informs me of the more than doubling in price of the trailer I had reserved. I reserved a 5 x 8 trailer for $81 and the 6 x 12 she was charging me $195 plus tax! Seeing how I didn't have any options at this point I had to take the trailer. Two many problems I had with this encounter was first calling me 30 minutes prior instead of 48 hours as the contract specified, second telling me that no trailers were available when in fact they were just not the size I reserved. This is by far the worst customer service representative I have ever been involved with.

Although the outside of the van was clean and shiny, the cabin had not been cleaned for a long time. The floor of the cargo bay was very dusty, with bits of straw all over. I cleaned the cargo bay with my ShopVac before putting my things in there. The windshield washer ran out of fluid, so I refilled the reservoir. The Roadside Assistance service got me back into the van after I had locked myself out. The local agent was very helpful in providing an adjustment to the return time when I was running late.

The customer service guy was great to work with, but he could have used some assistance with the amout of people needed to be helped. Time is important when renting and moving to get the things done and shouldnt have to waste vaulable time with only one represenative on site.

I rented this truck for a 24 hr time period. I used this truck for about 1/2 hr. The engine light came on shortly after leaving the parking lot. The gas was below1/4 tank. The steering was loose and the alignment was way off. Every bump the truck steering was shook and loose. The brake would squeal and the rim was black with brake dust. The truck wasn't washed or cleaned but wasn't filthy inside. The seat belt on drivers seat would stick in the buckle. I returned the truck due to these issues and needing to take my grandson to the emergency room for a high temperature. I feel that being charged the amount of $54.84 is ridiculous! I think this is outrageous and for a short amount of time, 3.8 miles driven with no gas change on the gauge and yet the full charge! I know my mother whose card this is on is very upset and wondering if we should rent from uhaul again. We have used this facility many, many times over the past years but never received this type of charge for a truck that needs to be pulled off the road and the use of it was below minimal. I ended up putting $15 more in gas than I should have at the end of the rental. 7/8 tank is hard to do, I filled the tank to beyond Full. Clients should be required to return rentals at Full, and nothing less than Full. Full is a no brainer to fill up. Watching the fuel guage to achieve 7/8 while pumping is crazy. New van, great staff.

The employees need to record the gas in the vehicle better. It is my fault for not verifying before leaving the lot, but when I got to my destination (only about 5 miles from the lot) I noticed the gas gauge read much lower than it should have. The contract said it was 7/8 full when in fact it was only a little more than half a tank. I had to spend 35$ for only a 15 mile total trip to replace the gas. Again this is my fault for not first checking before leaving the lot, but the employees need to pay closer attention.

When walking up to pick up my trailer at the Winchester, Va store, I witnessed one of the most unprofessional conversations between a female employee and a female customer over the customer not wanting to wear a mask. This is in August of 2022 not 2020. Long story short, it was about 30 seconds of back & forth yelling, cussing, and calling each other various adjectives that finally ended w/ “get the f*** out of my store, I'm not renting a f*****g thing to you.” When I walked in & was told I needed a mask, I asked if they had one to provide and was told “no but you need to have one on”. If it wasn't for already reserving a trailer that was needed to get my kid to college that morning, I would have walked out. I walked back to my truck & happened to find a mask shoved in my glove box. Word of advise, if the demand is ‘no mask, no service', be prepared to hand one out when needed. Not just berate customers as they walk in the store.

Manager(s) did not show up to store until 15 minutes after my reservation time. I was waiting along with several other people who also had reservations. Store signage indicated it was open, but the door was locked. When manager(s) finally presented, they were rude to customers and chastised others for not wearing masks (this should be posted on the website when making the reservation if they wish this to be a requirement). Overall the customer service was abysmal and I would not return to this location if I had to deal with these managers again.

I sent this email to Service last week after my rental incident. You have failed to respond so here is another chance. Customer Service: Not sure why my reservation is still showing active. I have returned the vehicle as instructed by your employee. The keys were left in the Drop Box as the vehicle was returned at 2:15 PM 8/6/2022. Also, just want to let you know how dissatisfied I was with the customer service. My pickup time was at 11:00AM and there was a sign in the window that we will return at 11:00AM but it was after that time that they finally arrived at the store. I gave them my reservation and they completely ignored it. Since the Vehicle was scheduled online on 8/2/2022 and I also talked to a customer service rep, I thought everything we discussed was done. To my surprise I never received any further correspondence from Uhaul. When I tried to pay in cash they refused stating that the Pickup was only available using a Credit Card. That was not possible since the items being moved was for an Estate account and no Credit Cards are available from that account. We had previously secured the vehicle using a Credit Card online but they told us they did not have access to that card but had all of the other information we filled out online to include the Drivers License info. The employee then told me she did not like the tone of my voice but I told her this is the way I talk (I had a Mask on) and was at least 15 feet away from her as instructed to stand behind the BLUE LINE. She also told me if I didn't like it then to leave without the vehicle. I thought Customer Service was one thing a company teaches their employees. Finally after I had to use my personal Credit Card she was satisfied with that part but then proceeded to take a picture of the driver's license of the person who would be driving the vehicle (Both Front and Back) on what looked to be a personal Cell phone which is unacceptable. A photocopy would have worked, It is unlawful to do such a thing without the person's consent which was not conveyed to us. Not sure how Uhaul does business but this will be the last time I use your company. Also I want all of my information Credit Card and Account information purged from your system and also my Sons Credit Card info that is possibly linked to my account. If you would like to further discuss this matter then you can contact me at my mail account or call my phone number. With all this being said I would expect a refund for such unprofessional service.

Rented 2x from this facility, will not do it a 3rd time. At least the 1st time I got my truck with no issue - I just had to deal with the attitude. The 2nd time, the guy was an ass. I was having trouble with my pick up and the guy more or less threw me out of the store stating he was "closed" even though I was there within posted business hours. Thank goodness for the help I received via that 1-800 number. As a UHaul fronted store, this location is an embarrassment to the brand.

Staff seemed bothered and annoyed to help customers who had reservations. When I arrived to pick up the truck I had reserved online, over a week prior, the truck size I reserved was not there for me to pick up. I had to rent a larger truck than I had reserved. There was broken glass throughout the back of the truck that I had to sweep out, before being able to load my items. When I dropped the truck off, the person working in the location saw my teenage son situating the back of the truck. As I was telling them about the broken glass and that I had cleaned it out, as much as possible, and that it was there when we got it home and not done on our rental, all they focused on was the fact that the blankets we rented weren't folded. No response to the fact that I had to clean broken glass out of the truck before using or acknowledgement that I did clean it out for them; however, they rudely said "are you leaving those blankets that way"? When I said no that I would be folding them before closing the back, they responded, "because I will charge you if you do". There was zero customer service offered. I work for a large community organization in the area and specialize in marketing, chamber of commerce events, etc. I will not recommend this location to anyone to use. I was able to move and the truck served the purpose; however, the experience was terrible and I felt that I, as the customer, was inconveniencing the staff. I was using a service that I paid for fully. A customer should never be put in the position to feel that the staff providing this service is doing them a favor by providing the service being paid for.

Customer rep was not welcoming. After processing the rental I had to hook up to my truck. I've done hookups before so it wasn't a problem. I'm just used to other uhaul reps coming out with you and walking through the process and taking pictures to verify the hookup.

Truck needs transmission repair as well as an alignment! The steering wheel had to be turned halfway to the left to drive straight. It was so hard for me to keep vehicle steady! The check engine light was on the whole time. Was very scared driving the truck. I like this location that wasn't an issue! But I also had to be switched to this location because the place I had a reservation refused to give me a truck. I was two hours late getting moved and because of that got caught and had to move in the rain. I was not happy with this experience at all ! Being told by the other location Yes I see your reservation and I don't know why they keep sending people here I don't have trucks! I was doing a local move and he impressed upon me he prefers one way! Not sure if he gets more money for one way. But I was a nervous wreck trying to figure out how I was gonna get a truck. Thank god the representative on the phone helped me. I thank god for her.

I returned the truck after hours and the app kept giving me an internal error every time I wanted to load a picture. I had to leave not knowing if the check out went through. In general my experience with U-HAUL was negative, I booked the truck one month in advance and scheduled the moving help (which they charge you right away when you book the moving help) and until the day before my move there was no truck available in the pickup location. They switched the pickup location back and forth and even changed my pickup time to a time after my help was scheduled on my reservation (all this happened in the last 24 hours before my move); they said one thing over the phone and showed a different location online. When I left on the moving date I still was not clear on what location to use.
