I recently rented a 26ft truck from uhual to drive from sea to az and the truck was running very bad. They started off by telling me that there would be a check engine light on because of the oxygen reader not getting to the engine. I feel like that was the reason for the 6-7 stops to fill up for gas in just the one day of driving. Not to mention the gas costing $140 per fill. Also the transmission seems like it’s going out because when I would reduce speed the car would rev up as if i was pushing the gas. Also it was shaking very bad literally making the back seat keep hitting your back. And theres also a leak that my movers noticed. I don’t usually complain but the fact that I was rented the truck knowing it was problems going on seems crazy to me. This was very dangerous and I’m not asking for a whole complete refund but to be given 50 dollars for my “troubles” is ridiculous. Even the employee I returned it to told me I should complain and the vehicle should never have been able to be rented.

Sharone LThe Van smelled like garbage, the tank was less than 1/2 full, and the mileage was not recorded correctly in the system. The license plate did not match the one in the system, either. I was charged $20 extra for returning it “after hours”. That charge was not included in the original quote. I have rented from this long stop. Before with no problems, but this rental experience was not pleasant.

Matt OI have rented here many times, and today, just like times past, Brandon greeted me by name, had everything ready for me when I arrived. The vehicle was ready, clean, and wonderful to drive. When I returned iand was getting gas at the gas pump, Brandon met me at the pump, checked the mileage and processed the return, showing me the receipt before I finished pumping the gas. I will always come here when I need to rent a truck. Thank you for the great and kind customer service. I really appreciate it!

Douglas RThe service agent was very helpful upgrading our original truck to a larger size the day we went to pick up the truck that was going to be too small. We did notice however that the truck was over 100,000 miles and had trouble shifting from drive to reverse and vise versa without having to put it in park in between. It would've been nice to have electric door locks so the driver wouldn't have to unbuckle seat belt to unlock and let the passenger in.

Tyrel LGas tank was on complete empty, I put $38 in not knowing how big the tank was. Returned it with 1/2 tank full and they refused to refund me for 1/2 tank of gas. Should never give a customer a truck that has zero gas. Had to immediately go to the gas station on my time. Will never use this place again.

Jarod MThe only issue we had was that we did not receive the 2 dozen furniture pads I had requested. The pickup location was a 90 minutes trip each way. As we had a large group of family and friends waiting to help us, we were not able to return there to retrieve as we had such a short time to pack and could not afford the additional 3 hours away to travel. I did contact Wilderness Chevron who said they would refund, but I see that I did not get that credited.

Charles WI was teally impressed with the guy who helped me i was dedperate for a ttruck after being told from everyone else they didnt have one after they said they did the guy who helped me here got me a truck that icould keep overnight and told me that the onky thing wrong with it was windshield wipers which was fine so thanks to this place i got moved out on time and i didnt have tostress on it anymore this place was great if i ever beed a uhaul in this area again i will be xoming here thank u wilderness chevron for helping me out and to the guy who helped me make it happen

KYLE GHad reserved a 6x12 CARGO/VAN TRAILER (ENCLOSED), pick-up scheduled for 4:30pm on 9.1.2023 for 2 days & scheduled for retune by 4:30pm on Sunday 9.3.2023. My Dad who picked up for me while I was at work. He didn’t know what I had reserved, but he was given a UTILITY TRAILER (NOT ENCLOSED). The paperwork he signed shows the check-out time as 4:39pm. I only know this a from The email I was sent of the contract…he was never offered, asked if he wanted, or given a hard copy of the Equipment Rental Contract even though the charges went on HIS Cresit Card & HE was the ONLY PERSON who SIGNED the Equipment Rental Contract. Again, the equipment was rented at 4:39pm, however, I didn’t rcv the ‘Check Your Equipment for any Damage’ link via text (the one with the photos of the equipment, marked where there was any previous/known damage & a photo of the License Plate) until after 8pm & by that time the link was expired. So I IMMEDIATELY called the 800# for U-Haul…I explained whole thing about the wrong equipment being given (and not knowing about it till I went to his home to pick it up), as well as the expired link & not getting a hard copy of the signed Equipment Rental Contract. She emailed me a copy of the signed Contract & the link text was resent. When I opened it, it was for the CARGO TRAILER that I had reserved & SHOULD have had, NOT for the UTILITY TRAILER that we had been given by mistake. The Location web page said the opened at 7am the next day (Saturday 9.2.2023), so my Dad went back, arriving at 7:05am & waited until 7:45am with no one showing up to open the ImU-Haul store, but couldn’t wait any longer as we were on a STRICT time schedule with people coming to help. The woman working at the gas station in the same location/attached to the U-Haul store apologized for that nobody had arrived yet, she took his name & contact info as well as MY name & contact info & told him that since the CARGO TRAILER that we should have been given the night before was sitting OUTSIDE THE GATE (as opposed to being INSIDE the gated area with the rest of the truck’s & trailers), to just swap the wrong equipment for the right equipment & that someone from the location would call him myself or BOTH OF IS when they arrived, as well as promising to explain the entire thing & that she had told him (“gave him permission) to do the equipment swap. Surprise, surprise, NEITHER OMW OF IS EVER RECEIVED A CALL BACK & we were too busy moving to keep calling them. We finished moving WAY earlier than expected, allowing us to return the CARGO TRAILER AT 4:30pm that SAME DAY (Saturday 9.2.2023), which was 24 hours early. My Dad (who returned it since it was his vehicle that we’d used to tow it) spoke with the Location Manager face to face, who refunded the early return day & I was provided a receipt via email for the total of $41 & change. Then on 9.5.2023 at 9:49am I received a call from a Seattle 206 area code. The lady calling said she was from U-Haul & was calling because my “name popped up on a list showing that I had not retuned the CARGO TRAILER & that there would be additional fees for the late return.” I told her that I have an email-generated receipt showing the total, explained EVERYTHING that had happened, but her response was “well, receipt or not, the CARGO TRAILER had not, at that time, been check back in & that I was responsible for it. I offered to give her the name & number for the Lawyer I work for, telling her she could speak with him as I had just emailed the receipt to him while we were talking. At that point she said that she “would contact the U-Haul location where I rented the equipment & call me back to tell me what they had to say.” When we ended our call, I called the location myself. I was told the Manager that I would need to speak with was our checking in equipment that had been dropped off on the Labor Day holiday but that he would call me. He did about 45 minutes later. I went over ALL OF IT, start to finish (with Finish being the phone call I’d just received saying the equipment I rented had not been returned. He knew exactly who I was when I told him about the equipment mix up. He GUARANTEED ME that it had indeed been returned as he had checked it in himself. He said he would reach out to the Office that had just called me to figure it out & that he would either CALL ME BACK OR TEXT ME after he spoke to them, said it would be a couple hours. That was around 10:45am Tuesday 9.5.2023….as of this EXACT MOMENT, 3:13am on Thursday 9.7.2023, NOBODY HAS CALLED ME BACK TO LWT ME KNOW WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON! The weekend before I had rented a U-Haul Truck for a different location & as I was walking out their front door, I turned my ankle when I stepped off the curb & took a hard, nasty fall that resulted in fracturing my elbow in 2 places, messing up my back & my hip. Not realizing how hurt I was, I took the truck but returned it the next day. I explained that I wasn’t able to get the move done due to the fall & my injuries. The girl behind the counter said, “Oh…that was you? Yeah I saw you fall & it looked like you were hurt. That sucks.” While she refunded the entire rental, o was FURIOUS that she said that she had seen me fall yet with NO CUSTOMERS IN THE STORE AT THE TIME & THREE EMPLOYEES, NOT A SINGLE U-Haul EMPLOYEE EVER CAME OUT TO ASK OF I WAS OKAY, OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE OR EVEN ACKNOWLEDGED THEY HAD SEEM ME FALL!! So….within 8 days, using 2 DIFFERENT U-Haul LOCATIONS, I HAD NOTHING BUT AWFUL EXPERIENCES AT BOTH!!! I can ASSURE TOU THAT I WILL NEVER use U-Haul again & have told plenty of people in my life about BOTH EXPERIENCES & they are all DISGUSTED & APPALLED AT THE PISS-POOR Customer Service, lack of compassion & assistance when I fell & now being basically accused of stealing a CARGO TRAILER even though I have A U-HAUL AUTOMATIC SYSTEM GENERATED RECEIPT, which ONLY GETS SENT SHOWING THE ‘FINAL CHARGES’ ONCE EQUIPMENT HAS BEEN RETURNED & NOBODY HAS FOLLOWED THROUGH ON THEIR WORD TO CALL ME BACK TO LET ME KNOW THE SITUATION HAS BEEN RESOLVED!!!!! ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE & CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED!!!

CHRISTOPHER NMy rental experience was awful as I ordered online but the day I came to pick up the truck, UHaul's system was down and I could not get my truck. The representative at Wilderness Chevron (I think his name was Brandon or something like that) worked with me for hours to try to get my rental done and then compensated me for all the trouble. It was not fun to have to move in the dark that day, but Brandon (I hope I have his name right) was incredibly nice and helpful and I am grateful for him.
