Have the truck ready at the actual location I asked for, not 30 miles away. I had to waste 2.5 hours in NJ rush hour traffic to pick up the truck - time I could have spent loading it.Axel H.

I went to the Nyack N.Y. location to rent the Auto Transporter. They told me I would be picking up in Mahwah, N.J. When I recieved the conformation email four days later, they told me I was to pick up in Wayne, N.J. I think that was a bit of a run around and put me out of my way. My experince with the Wayne location was good,and I would rent there again if I needed something in that area.Robert P.

I received a text message several hours after I had already dropped off my rental trailer. The text message told me the location to drop it off at, which was not this location. When I called to explain this, the agent transferred me to an office that was closed. I had to call back and explain this to another agent, at which point I found out there was another error in my reservation. I was being charged for two days instead of one. I specifically requested one day rental. I had the trailer for only 1 hour. The location itself was fine except the key drop was hard to find.Derek S.

Everything was poor about my entire uhaul experience. The location pickup and dropoffs were changed without telling me so that I went to the wrong place. The app was very long, tedious, and difficult to use. The location was difficult to find. The keys were not in the box that the phone gave me the code to. When I was given the keys, those were to a different truck. The gas was low when I picked it up. The truck was dirty in the back - I had to clean it out before I moved. The passenger wiindow was broken in such a way that it couldn't be rolled down and it vibrated so that I couldn't use the side mirror, even though it looked fine. The return process was also tedious and impersonal. What a terrible experience!lauren C.

U-Haul ruined my moveâ€"- again. Changed my pickup location and added over an hour and a half to my project and leaving me to travel during rush hour. I will Choose another company in the future. Cab of truck had potato chips and corn chips on the floor and a candy wrapper in the cup holder. Gross. Pick up location was 14 miles each way from my moving location, eating up 28 miles of my free miles despite choosing a local pickup location. I should not be held responsible for a mile overage. Mysteriously, at time of pickup, my free miles changed from 122 to 115. Location representative acknowledged the change but didn't care enough to do anything about it.Alex K.

Didn't get the size truck I reserved. They gave me a mileage discount to make up for that. The day I went to pick up the truck, no one was there to open. The guy that was supposed to open came almost two hours later. They apologized and said I would get a $50 credit. When I got the bill, they didn't issue the credit they promised. I called and left a message about this issue and they have not returned my calls. I've never dealt with a business that could screw up every step of this process. Please go anywhere else.Brian J.

Bill me for what I got... got charged for a dolly and furniture pads that I did not request or receive... I also topped off fuel upon return of vehicle and still got charged for fuel...brandon K.
The truck was brand new. The previous renter left gravel in the bed which I had to clean out before loading which was a little inconvenient. It was a bit surreal renting a truck with zero human contact. Not sure I liked it but I guess it's the way of the future.Marc L.

I arrived at the location for my 15 foot truck at 8 am pickup, and the keys were not in the lock-box. I called the owner and he sent someone over. Not only were the keys not at the location, but they also somehow lost the spare key as well. I sat around for an hour waiting for the keys and was finally given a smaller, dirty 10 foot truck that did not meet my moving needs. I will NEVER use this company again.Brian M.

I feel like I have been conned out of my money. I placed an order the day before for a 15' truck to move, when I came to pick it up it wasn't there. Things happen, the person who rented it didn't return it, it's not a big deal. The person offered me $0.60xmile for a 10' truck to compensate, and I agreed. Just got the charges today, basically went and paid full for it, $1.99xmile and added on the Safemove coverage to boot. My original order for the 15' truck did not have the Safemove coverage. I really do feel I got hustled, when we were talking at the office I had my son with me and the salesperson built a rapport with me, talking about his grandkids, and we were smiles and laughter, all the while he was briefly mentioning insurance, slipping me charges and getting me to sign. On the invoice I wasn't going to sign, but he stated, "Oh, I know it says $1.99xmile, but when you get the charged for the bill tomorrow, I'll change it to $0.60xmile," and I fell for it. I did the calculations and the money I paid extra, it's a drop in the bucket for me, but it's the principle of the matter. I don't want less fortunate people out there getting ripped off by that con-man. YoAlbert John S.

Are reservation from UHaul East Orange was cancelled do to we were late for pick up. I have used Uhaul for years and never heard of this. It would have been nice for the person that took my reservation to tell me pick up the truck on time or this could happen. Or UHaul to call and ask are you still picking up this truck or this would be cancelled. This is not good Customer Service at all. I appreciate them trying to find another truck for us but sent us to Wayne which is out of our area. Good 20 to 30 minutes away. I checked the bill this morning with this location and was told $200 something and bill that this location gave me reflects $127. I am talking to Traffic and trying to get this fixed. The person I spoke to while at East Orange reservation office said she would charge us .99 cents a mile. The kid that showed up late to give me the truck appeared as though he just rolled out of bed and was unorganized and disoriented, maybe hung over or high on something. He couldn't figure out to work the printer, so I didn't get a receipt. None of the terms of the rental were explained to me.Robert D.
