I reserved this vehicle waiving the insurance and when the contact was finalzed the insurance was put on?? I was told if the vehicle was returned with a gas level anywhere from 2/3 to 3/4 that I would not be charged an added fuel cost but yet I was charged for 2 gallons. I was also told if the vehicle was returned any time on Sunday that I would not be charged an extra day but yet I was charged an extra day. Horrible communication.

It was a fiasco getting the dispatch changed to this location. The “girl” at the front desk wasn’t at work “yet” (11:00) and the guy knew absolutely nothing.

Sweep and wash the equipment. There was mud all around the exterior; gravel and dirt all over the interior of the 6x12 enclosed trailer I rented for moving furniture.

When I arrived at this location all the information I had previously filled out online had to be inexplicably resubmitted by the employee working at the front desk which was only a slight annoyance. I left my items with them under the impression they would be safe, but somewhere between Waters Mega Storage in Michigan and Panorama City, California, my U-Box was broken into and thousands of dollars worth of my items were stolen. No one notified me of the situation until the box reached it's destination and the company has done next to nothing to show intent to remedy this situation. I don't know what drivers this location uses and I can not in good faith recommend them or U-Haul to anyone going forward.

Any and all of the rental trucks in northern Michigan should and must have winter rated tires, it is not an option! It is not a question of if personal injury and or deaths will occur it's when.

The setup was well thought out. The trailer I rented was out front of the office and ready for hookup following a short check-in. The owner/operator was prepared for my arrival, completed check-in, and hooked up the trailer in less than 15 minutes. The trailer was in excellent and clean condition. There was a specific drop-off area when I returned.

When a customer asks for a printed paper copy of their receipt, go out and check the vehicle over quickly and come back in and print it out for them while they are there and later go back and wipe down the vehicle later. Don’t make the customer stand there for almost 20-30 minutes while you dilly dally around cleaning the vehicle and sit inside the vehicle in the drivers seat on your phone not wiping anything down for almost 5-10 minutes. Then act put out because she had to come back in and print you a receipt!!!

The staff at Waters, most notably Haley, were friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, and courteous. Haley did a particularly good job helping me over the phone, finding answers to my questions, and explaining what to expect with shipping our U-Boxes across the country. U-Haul should take pride in her as an employee!

There was melted ice cream all over the back of the truck and we had to mop it out before we could even use it. Also the windshield was so buggy I could barely see out it to drive off from the truck rental store to head home with it. Person I dealt with was nice though.

The truck was in terrible shape. The outside was damaged, and the cargo area was very dirty. It looked like someone used it to haul shingles. On top of that, the guy behind the counter did not even seem to know that the truck was in the condition it was in. When I told him, he acted surprised, and yet did not seem to care.

Excellent. Everyone there went beyond anything we expected. We need to store our 5th wheel for the month of April do to an earlier return north then planned. We also need to make a couple of repairs during that time. They put us up where it was high and dry and within power and waters reach. Thank you. Russ & Nancy J. EXCELLENT.

TRAILER GOT STUCK IN SNOW IN THE FACILITY. CONTACTED OFFICE AND THEY SENT EMPLOYEE OVER. WHILE WE WAITED, HE PLOWED THE SPOT AND PUT OUR TRAILER INTO SPOT . VERY APPRECIATIVE OF THE PROMPT RESPONSE.

Dealing on the local level was fine, however the online side of the things was a nightmare. I received several conflicting emails regarding availability, that my tow vehicle could not be verified and the phone numbers provided for the two locations in my area were incorrect and failed on each attempt.

Everyone at this location went above and beyond my expectations. We had to wait for a cab and they let us wait inside even though they were closing because it was cold out until the cab showed up. When we need another uhaul rental we are coming back to them. You will never find a nicer group of people no matter how hard you try.

I have never experienced the kind of incompetent customer service at a business before like I did at this location. We booked (received confirmation of reservation) 4 cubes, with trailers, and a pick up truck for hauling the trailers to move out of our home. We received a call less than 12 hours before our reservation stating that they did not have a pick up truck for us to use, but had a moving truck that they would substitute in order to satisfy what we needed. Less than an hour later, we received a call stating that they did not have a truck and also did not have the trailers to move the cubes to our house for loading. This was less than TWELVE HOURS before we had our reservation. We spoke with Haley at the Waters, MI location and she tried to assist in helping figure out an alternate solution. At first she was helpful, but then we were handed off to Robert at the Houghton Lake, MI location to see if they had the equipment that we needed there. This was an extra 50 minutes away from the location that we originally booked our reservation at. Robert was not much help, my husband and I had to basically ask him questions in order to find solutions and he did not seem like he had any urgency to help us out. Finally we came to a solution. We would rent a truck from Waters, MI, load out stuff in it, then travel an extra 50 miles to Houghton Lake to load into the 4 cubes. This was not ideal for us because we now had to load our belongings twice, but we were given no other choice. The next morning we go to the Waters location to pick up the truck to start loading. Haley was there with another man and she asked if it was figured out. After stating that we found a solution but it was obviously incredibly inconvenient for us, she resorted back to her office with the man. I overheard their conversation, and the man was saying he had a potential solution but I could hear Haley saying "you are just going to make more work for me". He then left the office and approached us and asked if it would be better for us to load the cubes at the Waters location if they pulled out the cubes for us to load over the weekend once we packed up the U-haul truck. Although we were still greatly inconvenienced, this did help make the situation a bit more tolerable for us. I wish I had got his name but he was the only person who went out of their way to resolve this issue that was caused by this U-Haul location. Because of this mess up, we both had to take work off last minute and had to do 2x the manual work as this should have. I was told the manager of the Waters, MI location would reach out to us the Friday of our booking to discuss a potential discount/refund for our troubles, but we did not receive this phone call. I am greatly disappointed with my experience at this location, and would hope that this would be addressed so no other customer has to experience a stressful experience like this.

Dropped off on weekend place was closed. Tried using self drop off software, I’m not very smart phone experience, old school only use cell to make calls. Was able to connect to check out site but would not work for me. The area has poor cell service, tried several times to get things to work. Finally called your costumer service for help, explained my situation. Operator transferred me to another department, a recording told me all agent were handling other calls my wait time was 20 minutes. I waited, and waited 20 minutes, and then when it was my turn, I got another machine telling me that no one was available to take my call and leave a message. What a frustrating system. So after more then a hour trying to drop off this truck, I call again, this time, the person I spoke knew exactly what to do, and took care of my situation, he update my file, explaining how to drop off, told me to put the key in the return box. He also sent me an email confirming the issues. Worst customer service, except for the last person I spoke with. Other then all this the rental truck was good, the price was better then anyone else. Need to improvements pick up & drop off, it’s the worst.

Haley and the rest of the staff were great as always. When I need to rent something from U-haul, this is ALWAYS my first choice as the staff here are better than most other locations I've dealt with. When people are this kind , friendly and actually remember you, you'd drive out of your way to chose them as well. Can't say enough great things about all the people here.

Just a disaster. Wasn't told I needed to purchase locks. Didn't set up the delivery as I asked. Delivery was a day late and I wasn't told it wouldn't get here until we were within the delivery window time. Pick up was TWO DAYS late and no one even called to tell me they changed the pick up date. I had to call Uhaul and ask what was going on! I had to beg my HOA not to fine me. EMBARRASSING! Best part of this whole thing was the movers that packed my stuff into the uhaul trailers. And they aren't uhaul employees... 10/10 wouldn't recommend. Really expected more from a company that's been around and trusted for so long.

It was a relief to be able to comfortably sort and distribute what was no longer needed from my two rented units in order to downsize to one unit. They were understanding of my need to keep a budget and Haley went beyond her job description in order to assure me a timely truck to avoid starting another billing cycle and also accommodate my scheduled moving crew. U-Haul Mega Storage meets customer needs.

i was charged for rental insurance that I did not authorize. I reserved the uhaul and someone else picked it up for me. They did not authorize the insurance either. I did not know about it till I returned the hauler and asked for explanation on the receipt. They stated they could not do anything to help me and the other place will not respond.

I am usually there to pick up on Saturday and drop off Monday or Tuesday night, it works out OK, understandable someone can't be there at those hours. I will definitely be back next year, the cost is about even with what I save in gas towing and no wear and tear on trailer. I have recommended to others.
