The trailer door latch broke during the rental period. I had to travel with an insecure door with $40,000 of contents. I used many ratchet straps to secure the cargo and an additional ratchet strap to secure the lower door. The cast metal lower latch is riveted to the body of the trailer where the aluminum is kinda thin. It needs thickening / bolstering. This is a design flaw. The engineers should receive feedback that they shanked this design detail. I would be surprised if this hasn't happened many times before to other trailers. I lost two days of value from my rental. The roadside assistance people were responsive but the response was disappointing; the trailer could not be fixed on my site. Please improve the design in this area and proactively fix all trailers with this flaw.
Michael DThis location should not have a franchise. It is a dump. Dirty and unsafe. The owner showed up 45 minutes late for my pickup then proceeded to use a litany of foul language. He was angry with me because I was taking the truck to an alternate location as he wanted it for his own personal use.

phil mAlthough the Water street location is the absolute best U-Haul location I’ve ever been to. The rest of the u-haul service has me scratching my head. I was accused of not bringing the truck back. The locations on the contract do not match the actual locations i went to and picked up the truck. For example this survey says a certain location but the contract has a different address on it. In actuality I picked up and dropped off the vehicle at the same location not the two different locations indicated on the paperwork. So…I’m not sure what that means. Hopefully I was not charged for dropping it off at the ‘wrong’ place. This I will follow up with. But let me be clear. Truck was good Water street location is awesome I must figure out the charges and costs to make sure they are accurate and if they are I’d say this was mostly a good experience!! Despite the minor confusion 🙂🙂🙂

Laurie CDon’t try to change my pick-up location. When I told Bryan that you had unilaterally changed the pick-up location to a location about 25km lfrom my home he was able to switch it back t on his location (about 3km from my home). You could also make your 1-way rentals more reasonable. By keeping the trailer an extra 7 days and towing it an extra 1,500km I saved about $4,000.

James DWe had to travel through driving rain for an hour. When we unloaded we found the bottom of 'Mom's Attic' on 26 ft truck was wet and had soaked bottom of boxes packed up there. They contained electronics and other sensitive goods as per your website's instructions. If this seepage is normal on all trucks, a warning should be posted regarding loading electronics up there.

ETTORE CInside of cab was dirty with hair comb still inside. I had to sweep back of truck as it was very dirty. Truck was snowed in so I had to shovel it out and lots of ice and snow on top so I had to clean it all off as to not get a ticket and this was very difficult as the truck is quite high.

Bonnie MAlthough the location and staff ARE AMAZING I’ve learned when renting uhaul the computer system is a piece of crap My rental reservation was magically cancelled and when I showed up there were no available truck for me. What a joke. Luckily Brian the guy who runs the uhaul is a star and made everything ok but he could only find me a 20’ instead of a 26’ so now we will have to do two trips instead of one. Thank you uhaul You’re lucky you have amazing people running your rental shops because if it wasn’t for them you would be a friggin dumpster fire of a company.

Natalie HYour computer system badly needs an overhaul, but you already knew that. Water Street Autoworks is a great outlet. Not fancy, but they do right by customers. When we need a truck rental, we always go there.
Dave FAs I rented for a 4000km trip, the truck and car carrier was given a complete safety check. Hence no problems whatsoever.
Gary MFirst of all, I'd like to say that I was very pleased with the quality of the 5'x8' open box trailer Brian had available for me. I've owned several trailers in the past, but none as good as the U-Haul I rented from him. Brian was very helpful in accommodating several time changes I needed to make and was a gentleman throughout the rental process.

Patrick ARental equipment (utility cart and furniture dolly) wasn't on site. Vehicle was 3/4 empty and cost me $89.00 to fill up. I had to drive to another rental place for the required equipment. Friendly staff were accommodating and helped me load vehicle on trailer and secure prior to leaving.

Kenric EDue to a web site issue (incorrect information) my reservation got shifted from one franchise to another, over night. The new location had no time to ensure that the trailer was clean and ready. This led to a 1.5 hour delay in accessing the trailer. The Water St. location did their best to accomodate me. The website was the origin of the problem. Make sure that any items lested for rent are actually available in Canada.

Greg BThe truck was on sheer ice so I needed to contact the owner to tow me out. It would have been better if he had moved the van off the ice before my arrival as this caused me significant delay. The road to get to this location isn't in great shape. I think I'd go to the nearby location on the highway next time.
