The truck had an engine maintenance light on that did not seem to concern the agent . I had to find my truck on the lot , the agent did not do a walk around the truck with me . The door would not come down properly after we had cleaned and loaded the truck . If the rental pickup location had cleaned the truck earlier they would have noticed that the door was not operating properly . I had ordered moving pads with the truck that were not in the truck when i arrived at my loading location .

Vinicio medeirosWhen I picked up the truck it had 1/16 of a tank of gas. Five minutes after leaving this U-Haul I had to top up the fuel tank. The cab interior was a mess. Beverage containers and what I think was fried rice on the passenger seat. I was also charged insurance coverage even though I specifically asked not to be.

Paul McGowanThe inside of the truck had a lot of dirt inside the cargo area. I had to sweep it out before starting. There is a panel on the floor of the cargo area that is loose. This should be fixed as it is unsafe. It is obvious that gas is being stolen when the trucks are stored. I can't imagine how much the losses are becuz the gas caps don't lock.

Olga WybywanezThis location has a very busy take out food business and I waited over 40 minutes for her to process my order and then I made a mistake on the size of truck and we were going to have to start over and she was so busy with everything else I just left and went down the street to the Maple Variety and got one there with no issues. They told me there I had only a few hours which confused me as well because I thought it was by the day. I didnt need it any longer so that wasnt an issue but it was just not what I expected and wonder if that is uhauls policy or them just wanting to make more money from the truck.
nancy leaannIt took way too long to get the car after I arrived. The employee's computer was very slow. Despite being told that my rental would be $151 on the phone, I was charged an extra environmental fee and tax and almost charged a insurance fee, despite me not asking for it. I noticed that my charge was much higher than $151, which is why I had to interrogate the employee as to what extras were being added without my permission. The truck was also fairly dirty.

I had to wait close to an hour while the guy kept asking for my credit card. I gave it to him 3 times, at least that I can remember, he kept talking on the phone and will come back and ask me for the same thing over and over. I noticed he added SafeMove insurance without my consent. I did tell him about this but he kept telling me how I needed it…I mean I was there to rent a uhaul, NOT to get his advice. I notice he ended up adding it, PLEASE remove it and sent me the updated invoice. My contract number is 11614655 Pathetic is an understatement. I would definitely still use uhaul but NEVER that location.

We booked over a month in advance, and 2 days before our pickup the time and location was changed on us so we decided to pickup a day earlier to be safe, we were told our reservation was guaranteed. We arrived to the pickup location in Welland and our truck wasn't there, and the worker said she had rented out a 20' truck an hour prior (this location refunded my payment, so she had to have been the one to cancel my reservation). I called Uhaul and they arranged another truck for us about 25 minutes away and said I'd get a $100 credit for the inconvenience. We drove to the other location, got the truck, and then had to drive to a 3rd location to rent the dollies since the replacement truck didn't have them. We were promised another $25 refund since we had to pay separately for the dollies. I have only received $85 of these promised refunds, and despite a few phone calls and emails I have not been able to secure the remaining $40. Overall this experience was extremely stressful, not something we should have had to deal with during a move. The original pickup location in Welland should not have had the ability to cancel our reservation and rent our truck to someone else, and Uhaul should not be promising refunds to customers if they refuse to follow through. Their service was extremely disappointing and I'll be looking into other options for any future moves.

Jun WangThe gentleman who helped me when I picked up the truck was very pleasant, however there were several other issues with my experience. The first thing I noticed was the interior of the cab of the truck was filthy, covered in spilt coffee, dirt and dust. It has obviously not been cleaned for awhile. But the worst part of the experience was that there was only 1/4 tank of gas in the truck. I had to stop to put gas in the truck before I could even begin my move and then had to add more before I could finish due to being worried I would run out of gas. Both of these extra trips to gas stations took me out of my way which ultimately added to mileage used. I have used uhauls many times at other locations and have never experienced this before. I have also previously received a printout with the level of gas and how much was required to fill it back to where it started. I did not receive this. When I enquired about proof of the amount of gas was in it, I was told to take a picture before leaving. I would not use this location again.

I took pics of my own just to ensure that I was not held accountable table for the marks on the truck that were already there. As suspected the 15 foot truck was far too small and 2 trips were required which ended up costing me hundreds of extra dollars in gas and mileage charges that I am completely unhappy about.

I actually pumped more fuel than I had to. But these guys are fraud. If that was a honest mistake, they would have just rectified it after I send them the proof.
