Uhaul called me to let me know the drop area in Bayfield co. I went to drop it during regular hours and know one was available, so I called in to the uhaul representative that gave me the drop location and said no problem just go ahead and drop it anyway. I then get a call today 1/02.2020 that they can't find the trailer at drop off and that I need to file a claim with my insurance co. This is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard when I was given instructions to drop with out a sign off when I question it. I WILL NEVER USE UHAUL AGAIN. I'm just glad there are many other options to choose from.

I had rented a 6 x 12 cargo trailer for the day and my reservation indicated I would be returning it to the same place I picked it up from. However, when I first called the local pickup location to confirm my reservation, I was asked if my usage of the trailer was going to be local. I asked her why she was inquiring and she said the price goes way up if I don't stay in town. She said it was $29.95 + 79 cents per mile. I asked her how they could track mileage on a trailer and she said they ask for the address. ???? Then, on the morning I picked up the trailer and was doing the paperwork, I was asked by a different employee if my intended trailer usage was going to be in town and explained the price would go up otherwise. I called U-Haul's main phone number after both of these conversations to ask about this and they assured me it's a FLAT RATE unless I was dropping off the trailer at a different location. I understand that the location I picked up and dropped off at are primarily a feed and ranch supply operation, but I think if they're going to operate a U-Haul there, they should probably be better informed about the terms/pricing. I didn't get the feeling they were trying to be shady at all, just maybe confused about prices. In fairness, I should add that the gentlemen that helped with the paperwork and trailer hookup were very friendly. I do appreciate that. I hope this helps.

1st trailer wouldn't lock on the ball. I would also like to see all the tire pressures checked before I leave on an 1100 mile trip. EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE!

I originally rented a truck. Then got a call saying my reservation had been cancelled because they didn’t have one. So we had to make do with the biggest trailer available. If it’s not available it shouldn’t be able to rent.

The location did not call to confirm the day before. The truck was very muddy on the drivers side. I could not even roll down the window without scratching it because of the mud.

I chose U haul transport thinking I could save over using a moving company but because of the way u haul charges , doing it myself, all the packing, all the loading, all the driving, all the gas ups, all the extras added onto the bill, all the unloading, all by myself, well , all I can say is, I wish I had used a moving company, I would have saved at least $1000.00

First, please make every effort to shop at your local feed and ranch supply store (instead of Walmart, Home Depot or Lowe’s, for example). Valley Ranch and Feed exemplifies the knowledge and excellent customer service you’ll get at such a locally owned and operated store. More relevant to this review, they were an excellent location from which to rent a Uhaul; again, outstanding customer service being key. Perhaps not the kind of same-day selection you’d get from a larger location, but they will make every effort to get want you need if it’s even remotely feasible and they have sufficient time to inquire on your behalf. Outstanding business.

We waited around for an hour due to uhaul program issues. So we left and came back and waited for another 40 minutes. I think we waited longer than we had the unit rented. It was not the fault of the location it was a UHaul problem.

This trailer had been terribly abused before we rented. Couldn't count the number of stickers already attached nor we ones attached upon rental. Something worn on hookup as it jerked a lot and was not a tight connection. This has to do only with trailer and nothing to do with rental location. Would not rent a trailer again in this condition.

U-Haul switched my pick up location w/o letting me know. Had to drive 15 miles outside of Durango to pick up Tow Dolly. Check in process took over 45 minutes....longer than an Eye Exam.

Our only issue was that we arrived right when this location opened and another customer was in line in front of us. He took a long time to be checked in because of some payment issues. So even though we had prepaid, we ended up waiting. But I don't know how this could have been avoided. Otherwise, this was a good location and experience and the staff was friendly.

The rental process was impossible with U-Haul itself. We had to drive to a different town to get the truck. U-haul does not answer their customer service line. They answer the reservation line right away and then hang up on you. The pick up and drop off location were great. U-haul itself is not worth doing business with!

Better instructions on the 24/7 pick up routine. Clear your browser cookies, be patient, use Safari or Explorer browser, not Chrome, have better cell reception or wifi at this location.

The young man who helped me seemed knowledgable. When I arrived, a tail light on the trailer had gone out at some point during my trip.

The morning of my rental, Uhaul Corporate in Colorado Springs called to confirm the tow dolly was ready in Durango. I thought that was nice. When I arrived at Durango they told me they DID OT know anything about a tow dolly for me! They told me I had to drive 20 miles to Bayfield to get one! WHAT WENT WRONG? Then in Bayfield, the number on the trailer did not match the number in their computer, so that took an hour to fix! At this point I was almost 2hours behind schedule, but still happy to have a tow dolly. The rest went smooth.

Valley feed is s great outlet. Uhaul in my opinion is a terrible company. Customer service is awful. It takes hours to resolve issues You think the internet is the answer to all problems but not all of us have internet access especially when you are on the road. If UHaul wasn’t the only game in town I would never use them again. Rich Dory
