Online check-in is too slow (30 minutes) and unacceptable as advertised. In person method is quicker and that’s a shame.

Actually have space to return the truck. Also less related to this location but the uhaul phone operators are awful. They didn't know how to help when the lots nearby were full. It took me two hours to return the truck driving all around the peninsula.

This location is at a gas station and was very confusing as a customer. There was limited parking for the UHaul trucks/vans and the van I rented was parked on the street. When we came back to return it, there were no parking spots, even on the street. It was very unclear what to do with the van. We ended up parking it behind the other trucks as instructed by the gas station employee. There was also no open locker to return the keys. The employee said we would receive a code to unlock the box, but I did not receive one, nor did the website tell me what to do with them. I ended up returning it to the employee who was leaving for the day, but he wasn't very certain that's appropriate. If we were a few mins late, I would've missed him and not known what to do with the keys. I left feeling very uncertain about the return of the vehicle, even though it was only 3 hours after i picked it up. At other UHaul locations, I've never faced these issues since there's at least parking available. Clear instructions would be very helpful for anyone renting a truck from here.

The Valero UHaul in San Mateo has been our go-to. They are pleasant, helpful, professional, and very informative. They helped to make stressful move very doable.

The employees were amazingly helpful and service-oriented. I wish all U-haul locations were this amazing. They went above and beyond to anticipate and meet all of our needs, an insure the experience was effective and personable

The person inspecting the vehicle asked me to broom the cargo area of the van. There were maybe five leaves or so, which were there already when I got the van. I used the van load maybe 5 boxes from IKEA -- no leaves. Yet he insisted that I broom the cargo area. I've never had this experience in my life before with a rental. Never renting from U-Haul again.

When I picked up the van, the person was testy and confrontational -- as if this were some kind of internet scam rather than a real business. EXTREMELY suspicious that you request two other people's phone numbers; I've rented hundreds of cars over 35 years or more, and no rental car company has ever had to phone even me much less anyone else. I hope you delete those numbers from your database. The person when I returned the vehicle was perfectly fine and helpful. Vehicle was fine.

Location was good, very easy to access. The big issue was that U-Hauls reservation system was offline. No fault of the location staff, but I wasn't able to get my truck until more than an hour late due to the system issue.

Total was different then I was quoted. The clerk originally told me that they didn't have the truck I requested, but then did. It took extra time when he had to help gas station customers that came in after I was already working with him to get the truck. Even after I called Uhaul to reserve a truck, the order submitted was incorrect.
