So, this is the first time renting a moving truck in a long time, and it's all done on the web now. The good news is that it was fairly seamless. The bad news is that they did not provide the moving blankets we reserved, and there was nothing to be done about it since 1) the place was unmanned at 8a and 2) the "office" would not open until 10a, which was too late. The online "chat" bot/person said they would remove the charge from my order, but that was the best they could do. All-in-all, I'd say it went very well. And, we had a brand new truck! The truck was clean as a whistle and handled beautifully at 55-60 mph. Even though most of my trip had a speed limit of 65 mph, the truck did not feel stable at that speed. It was a rather windy day, so maybe that was the issue, but another U-Haul truck (15' truck - my rental was a 10' truck) went blasting past me, so I'm not sure. My only other complaint was that while the app said I had 1/16th of a tank of gas, I was very afraid that I would not make it to a gas station! Maybe if there was a way to let people know what to expect on gas mileage, it would have put my mind at ease for not only figuring out how far I could go before running out, but also for calculating how much to put in for my move. In any event, the app also told me that if I returned the truck with Â¼ tank, that I'd get a credit of $18.28. I returned with the Â¼ tank (on Saturday early evening), but have not yet received the credit (Monday afternoon).Lisa J M.
We were charged for gas that we didn't use. When we got into the truck it was 1/4 of the tank filled. I returned it completely full but they stated I had to pay additional fees. I has a 10am reservation but the uhaul employee didn't show up until almost 1030pm.ANTHONY A.

It was an abandoned warehouse. No one was there to check me in. Luckily I was able to find a phone number on a business card left at the front desk, and, after several tries, was able to manipulate their automated call system to get a live person, who was able to give me directions on how to get my truck. Easy enough pickup, be ready for a lot of steps and don't forget your reading glasses. The van was really peppy too! Easy to load, thank goodness. If you rent a dolly, you need to go to the office to pick it up, so we were without one. I'd say the only improvement would be to include the dolly in the van. They sip gas, too, almost 40 miles half highway was only 1/8 tank.MIchelle P.
I waited 15 minutes for someone to arrive to then pick up my truck. I had called several times and no one had answered. They were not equipped with the dolly I needed to move. He charged me on the spot a little more than $60 for the truck. Upon returning the truck at 3:30 that same day no one was at the location I waited almost half hr and no one was there no one answered the phone and I called several times. After waiting an hr on the phone with customer service someone finally helped me return the truck and was charged AGAIN another $60 something dollars. This experience and that truck was not worth over $120 I did less than 10 miles and only did 2 trips and wasted no gas. This location was the worst experience ever. First and last time and it was a rip off and very unprofessional.Gloria S.
I rented the van for 2 hours - drove it 25 miles total - and moved one small couch. When I returned it I was charged for a 2 day rental - a $25 cleaning fee - and $250 for damaging the inside of the truck. I was the only one inside the back of the truck and was for only about 2 minutes TOTAL - the couch was in perfect shape so it was not dirty - it came from inside a living room. 3 grown men helped put the couch in and take it back out - we didn't slam it down or anything that may have damaged the inside. When we checked the car out - I pointed out the scratches and dents to the floor of the van and the rental agent said that was OK. I have an open case that is being looked into now so I'm hoping everything will be taken care of. Especially because I need to move another 2 couches this weekend and will need to rent again. 1- When I arrived at the location to pick up the VAN, the place was closed first of all. 2- I had to call and the guy to get the VA. He was not at the location. He finally showed up stoned out of his mind. I could barely understand him and besides he had a bad attitude. 3- The VAN was booked through the website which was $36 for 4hrs. At the uHaUL place I was charged. $83. I will never use this location again! I will not recommend it to anyone.victor S.

Make sure when a customer reserves your equipment ( dollies) that you actually have them at the time of pickup. If you do not have the equipment inform customer ahead of time or make arrangements to have one delivered or picked up. so the customer and employee will not have to try and find one at the last minute. In my case I wanted to express how extremely helpful the employee (Tyshon) was. He was very helpful and persistent with finding me a replacement.LAKEVA P.

I got a confirmation email to get the truck at 7am. Got there and waited an hour because the location did not open until 8am. I did not receive a printed copy of the contract and the gas gage read lower than the emailed contract said which caused issues at the return site. There was damage to the sides of the vehicle not marked with a sticker because "they ran out". Very disappointed all around with the service end to end. Not worth the money and will take my business elsewhere next time.Matthew B.

Location is not located in a nice part of town. The office is across the street from the parking lot, which is not convenient.Charles K.
The total I was given with taxes and accessories (the dolly) was $191.43 given to me by (2) reps; (military discount) this location was freezing with 0 internet connection took over 30 minutes to try and get a contract. A vehicle inspection couldn't occur because the link was a dead link. They could not give me a definitive drop off location. Everything was unorganized and when the gentlewoman helping me called another location (stratford) for assistance on my incorrect charge she was outright rude. Not to mentioned when I arrived to my storage unit the dolly was NOT in the truck making the experience that much worse.bianca A.

No one was there when I arrived. Several phone calls and 45 mins later, a man showed up with no apology. All of my personal information was entered into his cell phone on an app in a parking lot instead of at a computer in an office... made me feel very uncomfortable that I was giving this gentleman my information and it didn't seem secure. Disappointed in U-Haul for assigning my pickup location in an unsafe part of town when I had requested a different one. This didn't look like an authorized U-Haul dealer.Lindsey M.

Make sure that the Boston Post Rd location is better equipped to fulfill reservations requested in advance of date needed and not send us on a 30 mile round trip to a fairly run down unsafe neighborhood. Boston Post Rd should be aware of the local college end of school and graduation dates so there is no need to send multiple customers on an extra round trip.paul S.

I have recently dealt with now 3 different uhaul sites. The clerk here was the friendliest and most efficient of all. She was helpful and friendly while getting the job done in a quick manner. I would definitely recommend this location out of all others in the area.David M.

It was a poorly paced lot in a bad part of town. I called to make sure it was the right place and the woman answering said yes. I asked if I could drop off at a full service U-haul and she said she was out of the office so no. I also wound up not using the last 6 blankets and asked for a refund. She was ambiguous saying she'll see what she can do. Either you can or can't, in my opinion. There are a lot of U-hauls around here. No idea why that would even be a drop off location. Add to the fact I had to pull the trailer off my vehicle alone.Harvey G.

Pick up location changed on us then no one was there or at least appeared not to be called main office said we were in wrong place NOT so they called them a lady finally appeared who was very nice and helpful. I found everything easy and simple through out the transaction . Even when I wanted to make a complete adjustment she was on point and didn't have no stress. If I was in ct still and knew anyone who wanted to rent I will definitely send them there to that location . I enjoy the expirence.Alex C.
