The guy who hooked the trailer up didn't tighten the hitch, thank god the trailer didn't pop off until I was unloading the car and not on the road. The car was loaded evenly with a forklift, but when I was unloading it I had a friend help me push it off the trailer popped off the hitch and the car went uncontrollably into a tree, damaging the front bumper and the bug shield. I mentioned it during drop off and they manager wasn't In. I think U-Haul should make this right.JEREMY L.

I left over 15 messages and could not get anyone to call me back. This location need to be under new management and staff needs to be retrained by someone who cares about customer service. The national customer service was amazing and I appreciate their support but the location was rude when I was in person and did not answer emails or voicemails. After I moved out they did not do a walk through until 10 days later. Someone moved junk into my unit. Does not make the facility feel secure. Luckily I used a professional moving company and had evidence that everything was removed from my unit. No one from the location called to inform me about things in the unit. It took over 15 phone calls and 2 months to find out. Thank goodness for the national customer services team that went above and beyond to solve the issue.Keri J. | Overall Experience

I am a U-Haul customer for years, I rented trucks & storages from you before and never had issues in the past. This was the worst experience ever to the point that am contemplating to ever do business with U-Haul again, I rented the 15 ft U-Haul for one day, assuming that the movers & the Salvation Army will show up on time neither showed up on time as a matter of fact the Salvation Army never showed up. To make it short , I didn't get the chance to extend, I get a call from someone called â€œLarryâ€ yelling at me of why haven't I returned it yet and I need to return it by 2:30 I tried as much as I could and when I realized I couldn't around 1:00pm I called to extend it to find out Mr Larry had flagged my account that I can't extend it only thru him or his office , I mean other representatives were able to extend till the last step , somehow when they're about to finish the process they can't due to the fact that my account has been blocked 2) my Wells Fargo bank credit card has been lost or so I thought , after monitoring the charges there was an attempts to use it from U-haul to charge the account for $534.00 at one point and there are charges at ARCO gas station next to the U-Haul , I am not accusing anyone or anybody however the issue is being investigated by the bank . I promise you I'll never rent a truck from that location as my experience was a nightmare, all the emails of you're out of contract . I tried to extend it several times this issue it's either you do it thru our branch or it won't work is outrageous ( you may go to check the recordings of how I tried to call and extend if )NELLY J.
The girl at the front desk cashier was horrible when I came to customer service. I walked in to make a reservation that day and she had an attitude, and told me that there were no trucks available today! So I left, went in the parking lot in my car, I made a phone call to the one 800 number. The agent on the phone quickly got me a truck at that location. I went back in the store with my reservation number and the same girl at the cashier acted all surprised that I got a truck. Then, later that day, I went back to the uhaul location to pick up a second hand truck. I waited in the store for 10 minutes and there was another older lady waiting there for 20 minutes as there were no cashiers are no staff at all in the store. I walk around to the back of the store where there's a big garage and I see the same girl who was at the front cashier on her phone talking to what would seem like her boyfriend in a loud shouting argument. I stood in front of her for 5 minutes just staring at her on the phone till she got off. She hangs up on her phone call and tells me, â€œwhat do you want?â€. I tell her I need a second hand truck and that no staff has been in the store for 25 minutes. She yelled at me saying, â€œIM GOING TO BE HONESTâ€¦I HAVENT HAD A BREAK ALL DAYâ€. She goes into the store from the garage in the back and then a second, male worker appeared. I went to him for the hand truck instead. This has got to be the worst customer service experience of my life!!! I will not be coming back to this location and I'm telling all my friends to stay away.DALMAS N.

I will be leaving this review on Google where I'm in the top 10% of reviewers and have hundreds of thousands of views of my reviews an photos. I had a terrible experience and so much of it was poor management and decisions made by Uhaul Staff, especially at this location. I was supposed to drop off and store at the Aloha location. They would not reserve a unit over the phone and when I arrived and waited in line, he told me I can get a unit in Tigard. By this time traffic was bad to get there, once I did, there was confusion and it took time to get my Truck and AT figured out. First when arriving and attempting to park and go in, I was told by outside staff to go down to the lower parking lot to take my car off, but this was before I had checked in. Once I went down there I had no idea what to do or where to go or how to do this as there is no designated area . When i came back up then i was given better instructions from staff inside. I was given a unit too small. They also required me to back up my trailer to park it which took extra time because I'm not experienced and staff kept telling me to wait before I could park because drivers and vans kept coming in. Then it took even MORE time with staff Making me wait for other cars and trucks to come in (which i was in the way of I guess?). He could have had those later customers wait, especially because then this caused a big line to form before me to get my actual unit. By this time I did not have enough time to move my stuff into too small of a unit. I requested more time because of the mixups, I work at night and cannot wake up early to deal with this but now am forced to go and finish this process at 8am so I can get the truck back in time. This was not given to me. Ther process for a single person to move into the unit was terrible. I had to hold onto big items on a dolly that kept jiggling on the rough pavement right before the door and throwing off my stuff, while I had to swipe to get in the door every time, and struggle to hold the door open to get things In and then worry the door was open too long for the temp control and kept seeing the $150 fine warning. Added to this, there is not a smooth transition for the Dolly's to cross the threshold which makes it even harder for me to get things in. The door that swings open forces you right into the big dots on the floor where the cart goes, but this is in the way and makes getting the cart in even MORE difficult. When dropping off vehicle, I got no confirmation that the process was done and ensue proper payment. Just told to drop off keys and leave. I asked to speak with a manager to mention all of this,, as this form suggests speaking to management to fix issues or concerns, but the associate told me it will take time to find him and I am done waiting for Uhaul Staff to take up more of my time when I should be sleeping. This could all have been done yesterday had uhaul Staff not created such a mess and delay for me. I will never use UHaul again after this experience yesterday and today.Jonathan G. | First Impressions

The first trailer was replaced after lighting check whe agent discovered door issu. This should have been ID'd upon return from prior renter. Also receipt indicates return more than 12 hrs later than aactual date/time (can verify with video) but not charged for over 24 hr period.MICHAEL DAVID S.
When you flag someone's acct for a 7 year old supposed bill you need to supply an invoice for the bill especially when the person pays that bill. Also, grow a pair and tell the person that you will charge double of what they paid to rent the vehicle and dolly even if you turn the dolly in 5 hours early and let them know that if the truck is an hour late they will be charged for another day but won't be allowed to use the truck that they have paid for for the 22 hours you just paid for. And they made me pay for the dolly for a 2nd day even though it states on my contract that I only rented it for 1 day. And after I cleared the supposed bill the owner put the restriction back on my name. And I never saw a receipt for the 100 I paid for the supposed old bill. So a truck that was filthy with old food and pop wrappers and gunk cost me $336 dollars for 26 hours. Someone else told me they said he had an 8 year old bill at that same store but never showed him a bill either. The owner is a straight up thief. He's as crooked as they come. I may go picket his place just to save others of being robbed. And I will definitely call the better business bureau and report Bob the thief also. I do know most u haul dealers are not thieves like he is. He's just special.ANITA P.

for the third time in less than a year, this location has mischarged me...when i called the 800 number to discuss the matter (Sarah--rude and no help whatsoever) not only wouldn't discuss the matter but lied to me about the details of my contract (which i had pulled up in front of...i should have been charged 1 day at 89 flat rate for 100 miles for a cargo van...and then when i went in to extend, i let them know that i would only be utilizing it for short distances the last two days...I have rented from uhaul in this area for at least 2 dozen times in the past two years...your customer service verified with me both the first days rate and the rate changing to 19.95 the last two nights...I also verified this rate structure when i dropped off the van...Sarah the rude and unhelpful, insisted that this verification didn't happen, told me also that there was nothing she could or would do about it...i offered to bring the van in to verify the miles for the first day and was told it wasn't necessary...you have no legal right tom change the rental arrangement without confirming the change with me (which did not happen, just the opposite...it should be noted that the 89.00 flat rate then 19.95 for the next days renting have been applied before, so when sarah tells me that that never happened (essentially, calling me a liar) and I offered to provide receipts of just that...she again said there was nothing she could or would do...you guys need to honor the rate I booked with, and confirmed with when extending...in the future if such is to be the rate, then at least i know, but you need to honor the agreements your representatives made with me...it may only be $20.00 we are talking about, but if you cheat me with a 'bait and switch' con game, and let your representative imply that i am lying (when i offered to provide proof of both the agreement and prior history of similar rentals, i will not only never do business wuth uhaul again (storage of otherwise) but i will seek legal remedy to resolve this...as someone who has served in customer service for over 50 years, you need to honor your agreements with customers..i promise you, there is not a forum or website or review page i will not flood with the worst of reviews regarding this BS. I was trying to pick the easiest/ fastest choice and ended up choosing mobile pick up. I didn't understand the mobile pick up process and somehow messed it up. Rented the truck for 24hrs. I drove it a total of 13 miles. I returned the truck 6hrs later and was charged $20.00 for "after hrs" return and for 4 gallons of gas. A smidge under 6 hrs of use and 13 miles driven and being charged for 4 gallons of gas (3+ miles a gallon???) and $20 upcharge for dropping it off 18 hrs early is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE...Arthur M.

Pablo was great to let me know what I should do to drop off after hours. I was originally to drop off way north on Columbia but couldnt find it. The north location was far from where I wanted to drop off on SW Pacific Hwy and when I couldnt find the Columbia location after driving around and around, I called UHaul to let know I would be dropping off on SW Pacific Hwy. All that effort and trauma for what? I called 'customer service' three different times with these issues and the first two reps didnt even submit notes to my file. When I finally got a supervisor upon insistence, she couldnt find any previous notes on my two prior calls. A very negligent and frustrating experience. I wont be using UHaul again. The storage facilities were well maintained. The issue I have is: I had to pay an extra months worth of storage rent when I got the very few belongings I had which was a tarp and my lock. I had to quarantine due to Covid exposure so I couldn't gain access to my storage unit the day after my last day to get which I did not know you had to get it prior to payment date. The access hours were less than flexible and if I had done my homework, and I acknowledge this is on me, I would have chosen a different 24/7 storage unit. After having to push my moving date back a day to work with the storage unit hours, upon arrival the door was jammed and we were not able to get in. It took about 30 minutes to find a solution and we moved to a unit in a different building. Richard was wonderful and did everything he could, its just really unfortunate that it happened and on a day that was 110 and after feeling inconvenienced already. After a long day I asked to drop the Uhual truck off at the Tigard location, rather than the Beaverton location, and they were very accommodating.
