Efficient and friendly staff. Convenient location. Only wish i didnt have to open a new contract and verify contacts each time i rent a truck or a new storage space. A membership or loyalty package based on points would be awesome!! Points earn you perks, benefits, discounts etc. Incl van rental, pod storage, free boxes, credit towards hiring labor etc. App needs work. Logs me out each time i start a new task or reservation. What a Pain! Need to expand loading dock. Improve exit path for trucks and cars. Maybe an outdoor kiosk where you can reserve your ubox etc. Thanks!!!

I received some of the worst customer support and service that I’ve ever experienced as a consumer. I reached out to gene carr a countless amount of times to address issues and he never stepped up to the plate. Horrible service and experience which all started with the bait and switch pricing on day 1. Who do you have running this place?

I booked this storage unit a month in advance & when I got there heard that the units were overbooked & I got the last one in the place. Online this unit was listed as a unit for a one bedroom place & it was a glorified closet. I got one of the units that was not even full size & it had mouse traps in it & a pipe straight through the middle. There were no other units so it was either I get that one or I leave my stuff on the street. I was able to fit half of what I anticipated. Nowhere near the size for a one bedroom place. Definitely did not get what I paid for.

Uhaul is my go to company for all my moving needs and the servive I receive is always top-notch. The 15th street storage facility is so convenient, across from post office and easy parking. Gene was especially helpful, always available, and always made me feel welcome. All staff were diligent in following all COVID precautions and mandates. I only needed short term storage and it was so easy to cancel. Thank you for great customer service and experience. I highly recommend Uhaul and the storage facility at 15th street.

I drop off the truck , as per the no contact instructions on the app. I parked the truck on the specified return area, take pics , proceed to take the keys to the Dropbox. An employee tells me not to drop the keys but to take them inside... I did not want to go inside. The employees inside tell me that the truck needs to be moved. I told them I followed instructions on the app. The employee then tells me I'm disrespectful and that he will “make sure” I will never be able to rent again. I'm at a loss as to why the rudeness was necessary... I was just gonna drop the keys and leave. You need to fix this behavior. Best RP

Ante todo muchas gracias, Solo como comentario les comparto de que me fue muy dificil encontrar todo lo que yo acupaba para mi necesidad, El camión lo recogí en SF y la otra parte la esta ba en Redwood City. Lo malo del caso fue que el auto que yo iba a remolcar ese dia no estuvo listo, Y eso no tiene que ver nada que ver con U-HAUL. Aun así estoy muy conforme con el servicio que ustedes nos brindan. This franchise is located in an extremely scary part of town. The address is not Bryant street as listed, but Alameda Street in the middle of the worst homeless encampment I have seen in San Francisco. Lined along a glass and feces strewn street in front of the UHaul office and return/pickup location are a line of derelict trucks, campers and tents, including, ironically enough, looted Uhaul trucks the management has not seen fit to recover. There is nowhere safe to park and the location offers no customer parking in their expansive elevated truck parking area. The staff are uniformly rude and aggressive, probably hardened by the squalor of their working conditions. After-hours return is impossible because of the lack of safe street parking and the warning that the customer is liable for break-ins and any other damage resulting from on-street parking. The van I rented was washed in dirty water and the windows and mirrors were spotted to the extent that visibility was a problem. I would advise Enterprise as a safe alternative.

It was stressful not having confirmation that the truck and equipment I wanted was available until right until the last minute. I ended up not having the towing trailer available which was a HUGE pain to deal with.

When I first moved it was was one of the worse experiences I have ever had dealing with a business . The manager was a liar and could never be found . Gene , I believe is the name of the new manager . He and his staff are great they manage a lot of chaos in a perfessional and courteous manner . Truly a great place now !

The phone app is confusing and difficult to use. UHaul boxes are flimsy and expensive. I will not buy any more. You should always, always provide customers with a paper receipt before they leave the premises. I didn't get one until I returned the vehicle, This was a problem when I tried to return boxes I didn't need - took forever for the clerk to find the transaction. I will be requesting a paper receipt from now on.

Easy to find location with large supply. The app was annoying since you have to find the vehicle then go back down the ramp to the office to get the key and then back to the vehicle. Also our van didn't seem well cleaned - there was an old fry in the front and crumbs in the back.

I was supposed to do self check out at this location on my phone. The app told me to park where there was no place where to park. I had to call customer service just to be told I couldn't return the truck at this location after hours. I had to drive to another location, after wasting my time in the first location trying to figure it out. The truck that I rented was disgusting dirty inside. It shouldn't be rented like this!! Specially, with COVID. I didn't have time to complain and get another since I was in a hurry!!

I would NEVER recommend UHaul to anyone. Less than 24 hours before our SCHEDULED and CONFIRMED pick up, you called to cancel the reservation. And then "moved" it to Sunday. WTF? Who does that? "Sorry, no trucks are available on Friday but not a problem, you can just rearrange your life, figure out where to put all your stuff and somewhere to live between the date you took time off work to move, that you arranged with your landlord to move and that you can actually move, and move on Sunday instead!" I spent 2.5 HOURS on the phone most of it ON HOLD, trying to reach your customer service people. Who were for the most part very nice and very apologetic but ZERO HELP. I was forced to rent a different UHaul for 3X THE PRICE for a round trip. Perhaps, this was an effort to rip off your customers by cancelling a one-way trip and forcing me to book a round trip. Whether that's true or not, your actions, your total lack of planning, your total lack of responsibility or concern given to the hardship and extreme stress that this caused me means you have earned my deep and abiding enmity. UHaul sucks and I will tell everyone I know about this experience and do everything possible to get them to use local movers.

I have been renting uhauls for my drivers, we are a moving company, for a while. I have always reserved the uhaul online then the driver arrives to pick it up. Even if the company asks for a credit card to be shown, they still charge the one that is on file. No problems.. except this one... they ended up charging the drivers card not the company one we requested. Not sure what the problem is... we always pay for our rental. We are looking into Penskes now. thank you for your service.

Your staff working behind the desks are often rude and unhelpful. I rent trucks from this location quite often and I rarely am treated with dignity or respect. In addition, I am often given the wrong key, which means I have to return and deal with same patronizing people a second time, where I made to feel their mistake is my fault. I wish I could take my business elsewhere.

I was there on a particularly busy day - took a half hour to get up to the front of the line to get processed, even though I had done the online check in. It was the first day of the month, so a big day for moves -- but consider having a separate line for people who have done the online check in. Also, I didn't do the option for online pick up because I wasn't sure how I would also be able to get the equipment I was renting. If that was made more clear as part of the check in process, I would have had more confidence in using that option. BTW, once I got up to a staff member, she was terrific - completely professional and processed me quickly.

The whole move in process was super confusing and crowded. I needed to put the truck in the same line as car returns and then back it into a space causing all kinds of confusion. Then I couldn’t get it out of there for 30 mins after I was done due to a giant return line. The arrow says to go one direction but I had to reverse out where the line was. My unit also has a giant structural support inside it taking up a huge amount of space - I don’t know if the second load of stuff I take there will even fit inside!!

Even though I had reserved my U-Haul in advance online, it still took about 20 minutes at the counter to go through the checkout process. I had to answer many of the same questions again (credit card, phone number, add-ons, insurance coverage). Some questions I answered for the first time, even though I could have specified these online (emergency contact). All in all, it was a pleasant and enjoyable rental experience, aside from feeling like the checkout experience could have been much more efficient.

My only complaint so far is that when I pulled into the equipment return bay to park, I was approached by a man in work clothes whom stated that he would park my truck for me and asked if I would need help unloading my truck. I assumed that he worked for Uhaul and agreed to his help, assuming that if he worked for Uhaul, I could add any charges for his help to my bill. I had assumed that if he did not work for Uhaul, that they would not have allowed for him to be on their property soliciting me. Even the manager knew he was there as he followed us on my tour and moved my truck to the garage area. The manager did not say a word. Mid way through unloading my truck, the man asked me how much I would be willing to pay him in cash for his help. I was shocked to find out that he did not work for Uhaul and was upset that he required cash payment since I did not have much cash on me. The man was super nice and helpful, but I felt very deceived and upset that the company allowed this to happen on their property right under their noses with no warning to me.

We were little late which resulted into folks at the location canceling our reservation. They were denying to rent us a truck saying they were booked thru Monday and dont have ANY TRUCKS available right now. I can clearly see there were 20 odd trucks in their parking lot as well as key board behind the counter. The counter staff were unapologetically rude denying the reservation and trucks. When i called the local reservation manager , she un-cancel our reservation, still they were refusing us to give the truck. They were giving attitude just because i was late, threatening to charge $300 if we didn't deliver the truck by 7pm. They were more concerned about truck availability for next day instead of the current customer's crisis. Are these folks running a uhaul center for customers or organizing for next day? I been renting UHaul for quite a while, this was so far the worst staff I had to deal with. Hope this review gets taken seriously.

This location is amazing. But I can't give 100% good experience to overall good with uhaul. I made a reservation first with 100 Valencia st San Francisco 24-7 mobile pick up and they said I can't pick up my truck at 8am Sunday and I had to wait until it's open? After I told them I did successfully make the appointment and I have the confirmation and the GM there didn't care and said you can call customer service and she didn't know why online showed they can do online pick up? By the way, 100 Valencia uhaul has a hidden fee called facility fee $13.95. ( I just found out on my first order with them before , no communication of course). Back to the reservation story, after useless conversation with the GM, she sat there and ignored me and no helping me to make a new reservation to other location and provide any suggest except please made compliant to customer service, I figured out myself to rescheduled the reservation to Bryant st uhaul then called customers service. For some reason the complaint I made with the customer service was only about the manager and it didn't say the reason was their online system issue. Good it was on their recorded line. Sorry the original reservation was at 100 Valencia 8am Sunday and I had to change it myself? Where is the $50 guarantee booking refund plus someone reach out to me about my bad experience? I found out I couldn't pick the truck Saturday afternoon 6pm when I planed to pick up on Sunday 8am. ( glad I came in to ask). Moving needs a lot of coordination with moving people I hope Valencia manager can understand and take some action for their customers. Anyway, the experiment with uhaul Bryant st is wonderful and extremely different from Valencia location. The front desk lady Mareta(?) helped me so much and explained to me details how to use the break. And big smile made me want to use uhaul again in the future with them. Uhaul should have more employees like her with customer interest in mind.

Since I'm in the process of moving stuff out of my storage and I've been a frequent U-Haul customer lately I find this location pretty convenient for me. However, I've had a few times when during the rental process there were some mishaps but every time that Gino (forgive my spelling if incorrect) was there he has always found a way to help solve the problems almost immediately. And that for everybody that I have personally seen while waiting my turn in line, not just in my case. Frankly, this guy does genuinely want to help people and he's there for them wholeheartedly. I have no idea what his duties are but I believe that if other employees do about 10 % of what Gino does for all the U-Haul customers you would have a perfect team altogether. And he always helps people the entire time - whatever his position with the company, I think he deserves a big promotion for his selfless and friendly customer service, and you have a valuable asset in him. Hope you will take a note of that and have other employees learn from him - he's definitely one of a kind. Thank you for taking the time to consider my comments.

This location would do well with "U-haul Picker Uppers" for people whom are unfamiliar with the city streets or can make it to the destination without using the seven full days and just cant find the drop off point after driving in circles for hours! The vans u-haul offer would be excellent for this location as a trolley system if they could work out a sort of bart bus situation except the driver drops off the van to each u-haul along the way and switched out or has it checked up at the u-hauls as it goes across country. Discounts should be offered for faster returns like the vans and their 20$ hour return, but for the box trucks maybe a 3 day return feature.

It was really frustrating that I couldn't get confirmation more than 48 hours in advance of my rental. This put undue stress on my move since I wasn't guaranteed a truck (not something that is reasonable when doing a one way move especially). I ended up having to make multiple bookings with different companies in order to ensure I had a truck with someone on the day of my move, and then had to cancel back reservations. The SF location I picked up at had TONS of trucks in the lot, so I don't understand why you can't ensure a rental in advance. I would ask that Uhaul consider making a more streamlined reservation process in which a reservation is not just a suggestion for a place/truck but an actual guarantee of that location/truck on that date and time.

You have a great facility and product, it just costs too much for what I need. I was buying a table off of craigslist but don't own a car and nobody to help me get it back to my place. ~$53 is more than half of what I bought the desk off of craigslist for. I drove the van less than 10 miles. Great service for moving, and I'll probably use your service to move next time, but you're no 'zipcar with vans'.

The digital check-in process was incredibly frustrating. My suggestion is to optimize the "time out" period for the pictures to still be valid. The validity period was close to 30 seconds and so often pictures would expire before I got to the stage when the pictures were required. It was so frustrating that I almost bailed on the entire process.

There was some confusion when I asked about the cost of insurance. Apparently the agent helping me thought I was asking for the TOTAL DAILY COST of the rental with the cost of insurance included and the quote she gave was over$40.00 which I of course thought excessive and refused to add insurance to my order. It wasn't until later that I learned that the price for insurance is only$10 dollars per day. My rental experience would have been far less stressful without this miscommunication.

I reserved space online several weeks in advance. Upon arrival to confirm my space I was told "there was a glitch in the system, that space is not available anymore, we have a smaller unit for you and that's the best we can do." I'm glad I came to confirm my reservation two days before moving my stuff into it....otherwise all of my belongings would have been stuck overnight in a Uhaul truck on the streets of San Francisco. Needless to say, my things wouldn't fit in the smaller unit, therefore I had no other choice but to take my business elsewhere. I've moved several times in the last 3 years, and every move I used Uhaul. This is the last time I will ever conduct business with your company. I have made it a point to tell this to post my experience on social media as well as leave you a horrible review on Google and Yelp. Good luck with your business model of price gouging and not honoring your reservations.

I went in with a reservation, and was told they don’t honor those and there are no available units. Luckily, they did have one, and increases the price over the price from my online reservation. I was told to sign without giving any details about the unit, “does it matter? it’s the only one available.” I wasn’t even told the price until I asked for a breakdown of the total. I got there at 1:30 PM to get the storage unit and truck I reserved online the night before. When i got there was told the unit I reserved was unavailable and they attempted to charge me more money for a significantly smaller unit. When I mentioned the $50 reservation gaurantee, they started texted for a while and eventually I was told the original one actually was available. Then was abotu an hours-worth of going to the unit and finding it already had a lock, going back to tell them, being asked to go take a picture, coming back and then being told they gave me the wrong unit number, then going back, finidng another lock, going back to the front desk an telling them, waiting for someone to come with a key: the key didnt work. had to go back to the front desk, they got all these other keys... none of them worked and they said they had to cut the key. This basically took 3 hours from start to finish, not including trying to get the truck I reserved (which was similarly a disorganized chaotic nightmare). I ended up barely making the van back to the storage unit before the access would cut off. While I was in there loading it, the window of my car was smashed... lots of people hanging around out outside looking for stuff to steal I guess. I left my phone in the unit and was locked out,still dont have my phone... there is no mechanism in place to help with these legit issues. Also, requested a van and got a truck which charges double the mileage, and ordered a dolly and didnt get one (but surprise, got charged for it)

I rented a UHaul van and storage unit to store my belongings for a temporary move out of SF. This was the craziest moving experience of my life. I reserved the storage unit a month ahead of time, but wasn't able to move in the first day of my reservation. I figured I would start being charged on the start date and could move in whenever, but I showed up a week later to pick up my van (the day before my flight out of SF), I was told that my storage reservation had been cancelled **without notifying me** and there were no other large units available. HOLY ****!!! What kind of insane corporate policy is that?! Luckily an AWESOME employee, Gino, worked with me for hours to find an abandoned unit and clean it out so I could use it. If he hadn’t been so helpful, I would have had to abandon half of my belongings in a dumpster. As is, the delay meant I had to make my last storage drop-off after the office closed. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy in the daytime, but at night, it’s downright dangerous. For context, I’m a large guy, so not usually concerned for my safety in the city. But there were at least five people siphoning gas from trucks left on the street, and multiple others that started circling me as soon as I parked. I decided to leave and come back in the morning for fear of my things being stolen. Thankfully, Gino helped me extend my truck reservation to the next morning and I was able to move the rest of my things early before my flight. The higher-ups at UHaul need to rethink their reservation processes and invest in better security for this location. Gino deserves a serious raise/promotion!

Came in at 4:45pm to the Bryant location to deposit my items to the storage unit I purchased earlier in the day. This is not the best storage facility in the bay and I cannot recommend it. The day I ordered my storage unit was a complete mess, the lady helping me was so kind but didn’t have the unit prepped, or my car rental ready. I spent over an hour waiting for each. I called once and the manager kept me on the line for 10 minutes then got really snippy with me about my form of payment, refusing to run my card again. Eventually he ran it again and it was fine. Started off good, but when our storage key, which we bought at the uhaul office, broke (key snapped into half) at the time of the first use of the storage, staff at the office did not offer anything helpful. They told us the technician left for the day (3pm) therefore only way to get it fixed is we call locksmith and pay for $175 by ourselves. We are not satisfied of this solution as the key is bought brand new at the uhaul office and the door was poorly aligned to begin with. Also, we had to pay $175 for locksmith out of our pocket just because technician was not around even during the office hour is extremely frustrating. We do not understand why we had to cover the cost for all of this when it was due to poorly maintained door on our storage unit. If such misalignment is typical, or hours of onsite technicians is limited, the staff needs to inform new customers like us in advance.

The office person, she was great. but on the dock the guy told me to take the car hauler to another location, when the contract said to drop it there. He went on to say he did not have room. It is not my job to balance inventory. He carried on about how I needed to work with him. If I did not negotiate with him it was disrespectful. I had an attitude? It was rude and equal to the pickup when they told me even though I had paid reservations, the trailer was not ok and I needed to take an uber to another location to get my rental. Just the worst. In order to cancel my account, I went in person but the staff member did not close my account correctly, and needed to have 4 follow up phone calls with customer service to close my account properly.

I was first in line but had to wait 30 min until a staff member showed up to show me the unit. The unit had a pipe in it and a low ceiling and I canceled. You should show photo of actual unit.
