I was suppose to pick up the trailer at the Rochester Hills location. 2 days before my pick up date they called and said they did not have a trailer at Rochester I had to pick up at Washington, MI location 20 miles from my house. This was very inconvenient for me but I had already made arrangements that I could not change.

The location was ok the kid behind the counter gave me all incorrect information and when I purchased the insurance everything I was told was false. I would NEVER recommend uhaul to anyone or EVER use them again. I will make sure to post this to all my social media and have all my friends do the same. I HATE being LIED to and SCAMMED which is what I feel has happened.

The truck was dusty and had dirty marks on it so it did not appear to me to be cleaned but then I found out after that they are sanitized. So it may have looked dirty in my opinion but it was sprayed with sanitizer spray. The other issue we had was how hard it was Duo lift and pull down the back door. Even using my weight (over 200lbs. to pull it down was not enough. It took two people to open and close the cargo door properly. Other than that, it was easy to drive. I do not understand why the trucks are not completely filled in the gas tank. I would think it would be easier to refill knowing that you are just filling it up to full. Perhaps there is something I don't know? I was a hair off from the starting point of the gas gauge, that I still got charged for the gas being well below the fill amount. I guess live and learn. Next time, I will take a photo of the gas gauge before using it. I used the online check in, but it was a little confusing at first.

Rental dolly badly needed maintenance - i had to lubricate the strap mechanisms, as they were frozen when I picked up the trailer. Rental person tried telling me my truck had a blown fuse because that BS tool you guys gave her to check trailer lights is a joke. You guys should stay out of people's business and just rent them the trailer. Making unexperienced kids "check" everything when they don't know what they are looking at is a waste of my time and your labor hours. My next rental is going to have a Penske logo on it.

I rented a trailer to move my son to college and the process was quite frustrating. The trailer did the job with no problems, it wasn't new but it hauled ok and that's all we needed. The frustration came with the inexperienced staff, the lack of direction when returning the uhaul and the wrong charges on my bill. I talked to somebody on the phone and they booked exactly what I needed no problems. Then I signed up for the notifications and completed the online check a few days before I was going to pick it up. The online system only said I was renting for 24 hours ( the time-frame I originally reserved was 48 hours) so I called. They informed me that they changed their policy and now can only rent for 24 hours so good thing I called and no one reserved it already for the next day. They fixed the problem and apologized. Next, since my husband picked up the uhaul 8 minutes before the reserved time, we got charged for an extra day. Ok, maybe they would've caught the problem upon checkout but I had to bring it to their attention. All in all, when you are a bit stressed with the move anyway you just want one thing to be easy and this was not it.

I was originally told that if I had picked up my Uhaul reservation from the Washington Twp location like I had originally reserved, I could have gotten my 1 month of storage feee, but since o had to pick up from another location, they couldn’t honor it which o layer found out was false.

Found blinkers didn't work when I got trailer home after U-Haul agent told me they were working. Found plug on trailer was heavily corroded. Everything worked after cleaning the connections and treating with anti-corrosion lube.

Obtaining the key to our moving truck held us up by over20 minutes - there was no key in the secured box, and we had to wait for the uhaul clerk to come back after she completed helping another customer. ( the other customer arrived after us). If we had been to the location prior to open hours, we would not have been able to retrieve the truck keys. It was frustrating and disappointing.

Everything was fine until the catalytic converter on my truck was stolen. I lost all confidence in the security of the facility and had to move out. I don't even remember the staff saying sorry for what happened. Just going right into explaining that they are not responsible for the what happened. Very disappointed!

First when I started the truck I got a warning that left rear tire was low. Than when I checked in after hours the GPS for the locator I was having trouble to do the procedure. I went home to try and do it on my laptop but I needed pictures of the cab and exterior of the vehicle. try calling the following day and was waiting on the 1 hour. All I wanted to due was to weave my 20.00 dollar after hour fee. The truck was left with a full tank and interior and storage area was left like I received it. The Millage was 54410.

Modify your after hours drop off process. Not everyone has a smart phone or data plans to complete the process. In addition, it is too lengthy and intrusive to have site ask for my location. And charging $20 for not using it is shady.

no improvement needed. our trailer was clean both when picking up and dropping off. the trailer pulled very well behind our trailblazer. I would definitely recommend using U-Haul if you need to trailer stuff or move.

We had a great experience using U-Haul UBoxes. Excellent communication with email and text messages. The drop off driver used her experience to place the Uboxes in just the right place on our driveway to give us plenty of access in and out of them.

Although the box was stored safely, picking up the box was a hassle. I called many times to ask when I could come. Nobody EVER answered the phone and the machine was a loop. It told you to go to the website for all your questions. The website has NO WHERE to request a pick up time to get your box or leave a message. The machine has NO WHERE to leave a message. I tried to call for a few days only to be stuck in this loop. So I just went there to pick up my box understanding I may have to wait while they get it. Well, when I got there I was told I couldn't get my stuff as I needed to give them 24 hour notice. I told them of the phone situation, was said they were outside, just got in and there must be an issue with the machine at the corporate level. I was told they needed the time because they share the equipment with other U-hauls in the area and the box was at the warehouse and they didn't have a way to get it. They made NO EFFORT to try to help. No phone call, no empathy, no apology, nothing. Just a lot of excuses as to why we couldn't get it today. There were 2 woman at the desk (1 was the owner) and 1 man sitting in a corner. No one was wearing a mask, which I thought was fine, just noticed because it was different, there was no mask sign on the door. I accepted this and again spoke about the phone issue, no comment, again no empathy. My brother who was with me was furious so I told him to go outside. I was calm and nice. So, the next day we came to get the box. I went in alone, without my mask. I was immediately told to put on my mask, which I did no problem. I said, "oh, I was just confused because yesterday no one had a mask on", I was told curtly, "we all had masks on." huh?? Now maybe it was because they just came in, but no one had one on when I was there. So, they tell me to just drive through the gate out front to the end. Huh? I was told it was at a warehouse and we'd have to follow them there. Nope, we just drove through the lot to the back where the boxes were stored. There was a young man there to meet us and set up. I then asked him if they had there own equipment there at all times to pull out the boxes and he said YES. huh? So I was lied to straight to my face. This was when I got angry. The young man cut himself, so one of the woman from the front drove down to help. I told her that he said the equipment was always there, then she said, "yes but we always have to have 2 people at the front". Huh? There were 3 people there yesterday. The owner just didn't want to help us. period. It was a power move, all she had to do was have her guy get our box out, but she wouldn't do it or even FAKE trying to help. . Then, she lied right to my face with this "sharing equipment" stuff. We got home to realize she didn't secure the pin in the stand and it dragged all the way home and broke. I called, they said to just call the roadside when it was time to bring it back. I said fine, but ask for an email confirming that I called immediately about this, nope, can't send an email. So I took a picture and drove it back there for initials. Since I'd already been lied to, there was no trust that I wouldn't be blamed for this. I was still calm and nice. I don't like writing a bad review, but I hate being lied to. Everything else I would have just forgotten, but don't just lie to me. Anyway, I will not use U-haul in the future.

The 15 foot truck we rented needs some work done on the engine. It was as though the transmission needs to be repaired. Also, the passenger side corner of Mom's Attic has a leak which we know because it rained. Fortunately we did not use that area but if someone did use it, everything would be soaked.

There were several times after a snow plow, up to a week that I'd have to tell the management to make sure they close the gates. Not only that but they keep raising the rates every year. I am paying $15 more per month now, then I was three years ago. Nothing has changed in the facility to warrant the $15 increase per month. I moved out!

I am very disappointed that I had reserved a larger unit to include the Climate Controlled environment, which is more expensive! Website states the storage unit will maintain 65-85 degrees all year, while moving in to Unit A14, we have noticed it is very cold inside and our belongings are not being kept warm. This needs to be be corrected ASAP to ensure our belongings such as TVs and electronics are kept in proper condition. Thanks.

I called and reserved a covered space for our camper. When I arrived, Stephanie went through the rules, I signed the contact and then headed back to our space. We then found out it was not covered as we were promised. I went back to the office and she was rude. She said there was nothing she could do and I could not make a complaint. She said she could make a compliant, but all will happen is "they" will review my phone call and discuss is with the person who gave me incorrect information. She could've cared less about my problem. I told her I gave a spot at another location for $55 per month because I was told this space was covered, so I was willing to pay the extra $30 per month. She told me I could either cancel the contract or take the spot, that the only options I had. I had no choice at this point to take the spot because we'd already lost our other spot. I am very disappointed. We've always used U-Haul in the past and never had a bad experience like this. I will not use Uhaul again, and I plan on looking for another spot somewhere else.
