I was suppose to pick up the trailer at the Rochester Hills location. 2 days before my pick up date they called and said they did not have a trailer at Rochester I had to pick up at Washington, MI location 20 miles from my house. The location was ok the kid behind the counter gave me all incorrect information and when I purchased the insurance everything I was told was false. I would NEVER recommend uhaul to anyone or EVER use them again. I will make sure to post this to all my social media and have all my friends do the same. The truck was dusty and had dirty marks on it so it did not appear to me to be cleaned but then I found out after that they are sanitized. So it may have looked dirty in my opinion but it was sprayed with sanitizer spray. The other issue we had was how hard it was Duo lift and pull down the back door. Even using my weight (over 200lbs. to pull it down was not enough. It took two people to open and close the cargo door properly. Other than that, it was easy to drive. I do not understand why the trucks are not completely filled in the gas tank. I would think it would be easier to refill knowing that you are just filling it up to full. Perhaps there is something I don't know? I was a hair off from the starting point of the gas gauge, that I still got charged for the gas being well below the fill amount. I guess live and learn. Next time, I will take a photo of the gas gauge before using it. I used the online check in, but it was a little confusing at first.Jaclyn H.

Rental dolly badly needed maintenance - i had to lubricate the strap mechanisms, as they were frozen when I picked up the trailer. Rental person tried telling me my truck had a blown fuse because that BS tool you guys gave her to check trailer lights is a joke. You guys should stay out of people's business and just rent them the trailer. Making unexperienced kids "check" everything when they don't know what they are looking at is a waste of my time and your labor hours. I rented a trailer to move my son to college and the process was quite frustrating. The trailer did the job with no problems, it wasn't new but it hauled ok and that's all we needed. The frustration came with the inexperienced staff, the lack of direction when returning the uhaul and the wrong charges on my bill. I talked to somebody on the phone and they booked exactly what I needed no problems. Then I signed up for the notifications and completed the online check a few days before I was going to pick it up. The online system only said I was renting for 24 hours ( the time-frame I originally reserved was 48 hours) so I called. They informed me that they changed their policy and now can only rent for 24 hours so good thing I called and no one reserved it already for the next day. They fixed the problem and apologized. Next, since my husband picked up the uhaul 8 minutes before the reserved time, we got charged for an extra day. Ok, maybe they would've caught the problem upon checkout but I had to bring it to their attention. All in all, when you are a bit stressed with the move anyway you just want one thing to be easy and this was not it.John B.

Obtaining the key to our moving truck held us up by over20 minutes - there was no key in the secured box, and we had to wait for the uhaul clerk to come back after she completed helping another customer. ( the other customer arrived after us). If we had been to the location prior to open hours, we would not have been able to retrieve the truck keys. It was frustrating and disappointing.John W.

First when I started the truck I got a warning that left rear tire was low. Than when I checked in after hours the GPS for the locator I was having trouble to do the procedure. I went home to try and do it on my laptop but I needed pictures of the cab and exterior of the vehicle. try calling the following day and was waiting on the 1 hour. I am very disappointed that I had reserved a larger unit to include the Climate Controlled environment, which is more expensive! Website states the storage unit will maintain 65-85 degrees all year, while moving in to Unit A14, we have noticed it is very cold inside and our belongings are not being kept warm. I called and reserved a covered space for our camper. When I arrived, Stephanie went through the rules, I signed the contact and then headed back to our space. We then found out it was not covered as we were promised. I went back to the office and she was rude. She said there was nothing she could do and I could not make a complaint. She said she could make a compliant, but all will happen is "they" will review my phone call and discuss is with the person who gave me incorrect information. She could've cared less about my problem. I told her I gave a spot at another location for $55 per month because I was told this space was covered, so I was willing to pay the extra $30 per month. She told me I could either cancel the contract or take the spot, that the only options I had. I had no choice at this point to take the spot because we'd already lost our other spot. I am very disappointed. We've always used U-Haul in the past and never had a bad experience like this. I will not use Uhaul again, and I plan on looking for another spot somewhere else.JENNIFER B. | First Impressions
