Did not follow proper procedures for check in check out. Charged for fuel, even though I fueled the truck much more than I used. It's ridiculous beyond reason: charged me for 6gallons of fuel for 18mi rental. The MPG on that truck is over 6. So at most 3 could have been used. 6 is twice of the possible amount I could use.Victor A.

The person that I checked in with my reservation (I think his name was Moses) was absolutely top notch. Very polite, personable, and knowledgable about the products. When I checked in, they're were multiple people in line, which Moses was able to quickly accommodate each one, then greeting the next customer within minutes. While our conversation was brief, I did learn that he was getting ready to go back to college. If he continues to work while going to school, this employee truly deserves an elevated job roll within the company. This young guy is leaps and bounds far superior than anyone I've encountered at my more "local/closer" U-Haul, so it was a nice refresher to see professionalism at a front desk. Others would benefit from having Moses in a leadership role.RYAN S.

The mobile phone renting method was a serious pain, worse than just going to the desk. The email said I had three easy steps to rent, but there was actually a really big one that was NOT mentioned. It was the "additional verification" a page BELOW the "Three easy steps". If I HAVE to do it before I can rent, then it should be another step... FOUR STEPS!!. And it wasnt apparent until i was at the store trying to pick up my vehicle in the rain, I had a bunch more to do, it was worse than just going to the counter... a copy of my passport, or my lease, or phoning my employer?!? What the hell, I've rented from Uhaul a bunch and never had to do any of that crap. The people at the store were great, the mobile renting thing is terrible.Philip S.
Location marked the gasoline level higher than it actually was. When I returned at the same level, they tried to charge for gasoline that wasn't used. Their price for gasoline at 25% over market rates. They charge for gasoline but rarely if ever actually put any in, so it's basically just a fine.Ward D.

Wait time to pick up and return was a lot on both ends. The location for picking up changed 5 times before getting it which was 35 min greater from my original location. Additionally I was charged an extra day when I waited in line over 30 min for return. Overall bad rental experience.WARREN F.

The mobile approval took 15 min, the lock didn't work with the correct code but after 10 minutes of â€œjigglingâ€ the letters it finally did just to find out they forgot to put the key inside the back. Had to spend another hour going to a different location to get the truck and got charged for extras that were not in the second truck! Lost a lot of time and had two paid moving helpers waiting. U-Haul needs to fix this!Dave R.
the young lady who helped me was the best, kind, and maintained her cool even under pressure of the morning rush. reviewed everything I should know, and made sure I knew all I need to know about the rental , upon return the young man was kind and unhooked the trailer and took care of what was needed. thanks to the crewTOBY V.

The staff didn't pay attention about getting dolly or packing materials, and the customers get charged without getting the parts. It looks very short staff at the store. Please hire more people to help.HUI C.
1) The service was very slow because the attendant was overworked, having to check in renters and attach hitches. 2) The interior of the truck that I rented reeked of stale cigarette smoke. 3) I was charged for a second rental period even though I returned the truck on time. I recommend: 1) Hire more people so the service is faster. 2) Don't allow smoking inside trucks, and 3) don't overcharge people because of your mistakes.JAMES D.

Not saying this lightly, this was by FAR the worst uhaul experience I've ever had. The blatant disrespect from the â€œassistant managerâ€ hailey was truly unbelievable. Too much to type out on text and I will mention that she did apologize, however, that does not change what occurred. Would be MORE than happy to discuss over the phone. I can't see myself renting from uhaul again despite coming here numerous times throughout the years. Will I/ Have I told my family and friends to stay away from this location, absolutely! The person assisting us was very nice and accommodationg, but it was ridiculous that the van's keys couldn't be found for our reservation. Three or four vans were in the lot, but there were no keys for any van on the hooks behind counter. Took additional 20 minutes while team looked with no success. After additional time getting a 10' truck for same price as van I went to the truck. As I prepared to pull out 7-10 minutes later a couple that were in line 2-3 spots behind us in the store were getting into a van. Confounding.MICHAEL H.

Unattended pickup app is a disaster. Hard to use, spotty connection. Why can't you close out the rental instead of going to a separate site? Lot wa a mess - trucks all over the place. I was blocked in and the online person suggested having a lot attendant help, but no attendant for self service before 9am. Key lock box only had two functioning boxes. Rest were broken out. Difficult to open the box and again no help available. Had to wander all over the lot to find the truck. When I got back, line to return was long and slow. Lot attendants were yelling at each other. Overall was a huge mess. There was a few trucks six blocks from my house but the app sent me to this other location. These trucks were still on the lot for days after I rented.Steve S.

The no contact pickup of a rental was anything but no contact. The user interface on the mobile site is hopeless when there is an issue. With no way to resolve the issue online, it required time inside the office during covid delta. Definitely defeated the purpose of a no contact pickup.Alexandra M.

U-Haul pushed our time back for the original 15ft van to a later pickup time, throwing a wrench into our move-out plans, so we scrambled and had to upgrade to a larger vehicle at the last minute to keep from losing out on hundreds of dollars from the movers. When I got there, the line took about an hour at the front desk for pickup because apparently five employees called out and the one available had to forgo recovery from surgery because the store was underwater. This is according to the employee but made evident by the backup in the service. The computers were sluggish and non-responsive, requiring manager override. Likely a consequence of the short-staff and last minute change in vehicles, the requested pads were not included with the vehicle.Sean S.
Checked out fast...I had a reservation in the computer. Truck in great shape, it had better shocks than the same type of van I rented earlier in the month from another location (and that van was good too). The van was labeled "clean" but the windshield was clogged with dead bugs. When I asked the attendant if they could clean it, seemed like an inconvenience. "Use can use the wiper cleaner?" was the answer. Not great service. We cleaned it when we got home and the ride was fine.Douglas T.

Too many trucks go through this location. I spent 1 of the 6 hours o requested for the truck waiting in a line here. All other locations close by couldn't guarantee a 10 ft truck, so I had to use this one. It's obviously too busy and needs some relief with close by shops.Alexander T.

The location is under staffed (Im guessing most are) so expect a wait even if you have pre reserved online. They have no express line. Also be sure to take a pic of odometer and fuel gauge at pickup and drop off. I drove my rental 18 miles but supposedly it took 6 gallons to reach pickup level. To their credit they said they would look into it. All the staff were personable and doing the best they could. Customer service hard to reach and expect 15 minutes on hold.John D.

Really bad customer experience with self-check-in. The staff on site were trying to be as helpful as possible. But with the horrible self check in experience, ended up having to hop in the physical line and waited for at least 45mims to pick up my rental. Highly recommended product managers from corporate to better hash out the end to end experience. Things to improve: - a day prior to reserved date, customers should receive a text with check in instructions. Some customers who were also in line tried to check in via the confirmation email, but that doesn't kick off the actual check it process, it just lets you log into your account to view your reservation. Highly recommend when customer select the online/self-check option, there should be some kind of educational material to inform users what to expect. - approval process way too long, sometimes resulting an error. Once you pass the driver license upload, it takes forever to load to be approved. There should be a time indicator of how much longer the wait is, and the criteria of what the system is checking for approval. The approval process should be prompted a day prior to the reservation so that when customers arrive on site, they're already pre-approved and all the need to do is grab key and move on with their day.Jung-Ying H.

There were two men on staff at opening. There were 5 people in line ahead of me. The person would then have to attach trailers to vehicles and then could come back to assist the next person. Online check in was absolutely worthless and cost more time. Took 30 minutes longer due the need to provide verification once you got to pick up site. I specifically came in to ask for a one-way rental. I was told that only certain trucks could be one-ways, which I swiched from a 15' to a 10' on my reservation. When I picked up my reservation on the app, it looked to be okay, but when I went to return the truck, it showed I needed to go back to the Auroa location, which doubled my mileage and I was charged, not only for the extra mileage, but the extra time it took for me to navigate rush hour traffic. I ended up paying double what I intended to. I was told I would be contacted by a customer service representative before I was charged and that has NOT been the case.Larissa S.

Understaffed with long lines but I do realize that could be a result of covid and employment these days. Parking lot was cluttered with trucks everywhere, there was no checkout process, you had to hunt someone down and I was overcharged $10 for fuelSTEPHEN D.
The store was extremely understaffed, which I understand can be sometimes out of one's control, but even so we arrived at 155 to rent a truck and did not leave en route until an hour later just before 3. Fortunately we were only going to the dump and back so we were still able to finish within the rental time. We did appreciate the accommodation of upgrading to a larger vehicle on the day of rental, but the customer service rep was very clearly out of it. When she gave us the keys to the vehicle she said she did not know where it was, and we ended up wandering around the lot looking at the identification number at every single vehicle only to find it still parked in the rental return line. Our transaction at the register took much longer than it should have, and she kept pausing and seeming to forget what she was doing. No matter how much I want to give her the benefit of the doubt, it was clear that she had recently used drugs and was unable to focus on a single task. Her disposition was so concerning that we mentioned it to another employee, who confirmed our suspicions, but he just kind of shrugged it off and kept going about his day. This experience confirmed that I will not being doing business with this uhaul location again.MONICA ROSE P.

The front bumper was bent and the truck body had some damage. That was not a problem; however, I would have appreciated if the staff had told me. Big emphasis on returning the truck clean. But I had to sweep out the dirt before we could load our belongings. I'd really prefer receiving the truck with a full tank and being required to return it with a full tank. Getting the truck with a quarter tank meant we had to get gas in the middle of moving and guess how much gas to put in the tank.Christopher R.
The facility and truck were fine, but overall the experience was very poor. I Madea reservation nearly two weeks before I needed the truck, however the day before my anticipated move date, I was told the only available trucks were over 40 miles or a ferry ride away. I had to change my entire moving plan to the next day. While I was fortunate enough to have people and time on my side to make this change, I find it highly annoying that I had to make such a large adjustment when I had done everything right. I will be sure to share this experience with everyone I know wanting a U-Haul. While I appreciate the service I received in person, this scenario was unacceptable.MARISSA P.
I picked up the van in SeaTac and ask for a drop off location close to 98115. I was unable to find out what drop off locations would be available when booking the van and told that I would have to find out AFTER picking it up. So of course the drop off location added about 50 miles of travel and about $15 worth of gasoline cost. For a van which should've been bad ordered because it was unsafe, illegal and should not have been on the road!MARK S.

The line is always really long here, and they can't be bothered to put a sign up or communicate to the people waiting when they have no more equipment available.
