The u haul representative Mike Blanchard was incredibly helpful. I had a problem with my car electrical system that I believed to be caused by a prior u-haul rental trailer. Mike looked at it and resolved it with both diligence and a practical troubleshooting approach. He took ownership of the issue and is a model for customer service folks should be swing at u-haul. Please consider promoting folks like him. I have dealt with him on 3 different interactions and his performance has been consistently great!!!!!!!Holger H.
You guys screwed up our reservation we had made more than a week prior and when we showed up, there were no trailers available. I had to wait over an hour until one came back. This had nothing to do with this specific location I went to but more to do with the computer system and probably corporate. The people at this location were as helpful as they could possibly be and did a great job but I am not happy with U-Haul overall for this transaction. I don't blame this location for the trouble at all but I do blame U-Haul.Samuel S.
I was treated unbelievably rude and they did not have the equipment that I had reserved. I Signed up to do self -check in and then had to stand in line for 20 minutes to get the key. I then discovered that the dolly that I had reserved was not in the truck. I went into the shop next to the main store area and asked about my dolly. An employee named Devante simply said â€˜We ain't got none.' I went in and and stood in line another 15 minutes and was told that they would refund the seven dollars that I already already paid when I returned the truck. The seven dollars was never returned and it's been over four months now. Hell, I didn't even want to seven dollars I just wanted the equipment that I had reserved. When I returned the truck I was going to buy a nice woman who said that she would make sure that I got credit for the seven dollars. She was the only staff member worth a damn. Though I still didn't get the seven dollars. Also it was terribly inconvenient not to have the equipment that I had RESERVED because I ended up spending much more time and energy. There are plenty of other options for rental places like this nearby â€" Don't go here. I wasn't even going to bother doing a review but then I remembered that my son had reserved a car dolly at the same location several years ago and when we arrived they said the reservation was at the Lynnwood location even though he had an email on his phone showing that it was for this location. I pointed out that they had a reservation guarantee at that time for I think either $50 or $75 and the employee so I would have to talk to the manager. We went to the Lynnwood location but by the time we were able to get checked out it was too late in the day because traffic was going to be too bad so we ended up having to take another day off from work because of their incompetence. I called the manager several times and never got a reply and finally gave up. Never again U-haul.JAMES MICHAEL K.

There wasn't any instruction on adjusting mirrors, tank level was supposed to be 3/8, wasn't, it was 1/4, I returned the truck with a 1/2 a tank, I think I should be reimbursed.Bruce H.
The supposed self checkout required me to go inside the building to get keys. When I showed up the vehicle was not at all in the spot it was said to be. There were dried orange peels ontop of the dash of the truck. The mobile checkout application was terrible to use.Brock S.

I was charged a $25 cleaning fee. I admit the van could have been swept, but it seems ticky tacky to charge me $25 for something that would have taken just a few minutes. It would be like having a rental car agency charge you to vacuum. I've rented from this location at least four times this year and the $25 cleaning charge put a bad taste in my mouth.JOSEPH B.

Recommendation: Have someone or maybe a sign or something that directs folks who did everything online (including submitting a photo of both sides of my drivers license) to a faster processing system. The issue was even more acute when I returned. All I needed to do was l leave the truck parked in the return area and head to my car. But I waited in line for 20-30 minutes to find that out. Here's the blow-by-blow details: I checked in online the night before to save time. However, when I arrived I had to wait in a very slow line just to find out that, â€œoh, you're already checked in, here's the keys, the truck is out back.â€ When I returned it was the same thing. When I finally got to the desk that asked, â€œWhere are the keys?â€ I relied, â€œIn the truck right outside those doors.â€ â€œOkay, you're all set to go.â€ So I stood in line for 20-25 minutes to find out I didn't need to.Scott P.

Mike at the front desk was super great. He helped me move my reservation time after movers no-showed on me. The original truck provided to me had several issues and he quickly helped me switch to a new one. Service inside was fast because I had already uploaded pictures of my ID. The customer service was poor at best. They didn't have on mask until I walked in. The person I rented the truck from lied about the amount of gas in the truck and never checked to make sure that was what was in there. I had to refill the tank because of it. When returning the truck the person there didn't have on a mask. I stood in the store waiting for someone to come help me.James F.

I received a call later in the evening suggesting that they had not received my trailer return yet. I had dropped it off earlier that day within the return window. The person who helped take off the trailer didn't really direct me in what to do, just got to work removing the trailer and when I asked if I needed to sign anything she asked if I wanted a printed or emailed receipt. I asked for an email receipt but didn't receive it until the next day and a phone call.ANDREW B.

After going to the third uhaul location, because the 1st one didn't have the truck I reserved and the 2nd one couldn't rent to me because I "didn't have an account" (?) I finally got the truck I reserved at the 3rd location. In a hurry because this all took so long, I left without confirming the odometer. I checked it a few miles down the road at a traffic light and it was off by 17 miles (in your favor) at $1.09 per mile, I tried to call you, but the recording said I had a 15 to 20 minute wait. I was already late and by this time, my crew had been waiting for an hour! I eventually resolved the mileage mistake when I turned the truck in, although your employee was suspicious, but I did eventually get the mileage credit. Overall a very frustrating and time consuming experience!james M.

My final, of many repeated and similar versions of the reservation (as well as many earlier ones), stated that the drop-off location would be Ballinger, WA. Then, 15 MINUTES AFTER I DROVE OFF IN THE truck, somebody in a call center called (distracting me from driving a 26 foot truck for the second time ever) to tell me that no, I had to return the truck to the Shoreline location. I said, but my reservation... she said Ballinger can't deal with such a large truck. So I conclude that the reservation to drop off at Ballinger was fraudulent, and merely meant to entice me into going with UHaul... your computer system should NEVER ALLOW a reservation for a 26 foot truck at a location that CANNOT ACCOMODATE such a truck. But it does, which confirms my conclusion that bait and switch is a major, intentional, part of the UHaul business plan....! A scheduler told me, when I asked two days before returning the truck, whether there is a grace period of time to return the truck, that there is a 2 hour grace period. Then on the day of, a different person, at the drop-off location, claimed there was no grace period (this upset me as I was driving and knew I would be a little late, but not 2 hours late. Then when I arrived at drop-off, they accepted my lateness. I just would like to know what the policy is, not be told one thing by one person and another by another. Very frustrating. Also, I was repeatedly told, in advance, and at pick-up "It's just $40 per extra day." Then when I kept the truck an extra day, the drop-off people were calling and claiming there would be "fines" for returning the truck late.... she acted like I had really messed up keeping the truck, quite in contrast to the "No problem, keep the truck, it's just $40 per extra day" attitude I got BEFORE I rented the truck. She claimed that she was upset because I was telling her "at the last minute" (about 3 hours before drop-off time)... so I asked her to define "the last minute" and she never did. I pointed out that I was never told to call ahead by any particular time (I don't recall whether I was ever told to call ahead at all...) regarding keeping the truck extra days... but I certainly was not told I had to call ahead by a particular time (4 hours? 12 hours? ) in advance of keeping the truck an extra day. If this matters a lot, then UHaul should both 1) instruct the renters clearly about when to call ahead to inform about keeping the truck and 2) make it EASY to call in to inform about keeping the truck -- right now it is an agony to speak with anyone, typically involving a 10 or 15 minute wait while being tortured by a repetitive series of UHaul ads and terrible music. When one is behind on a moving project, one may not have the time to go through that process just to tell UHaul about whether you think you might need the truck an extra day. The person who called in the morning to know if I was returning the truck that day should have called much sooner, if it was that important to her, and she CERTAINLY shouldn't be acting like I have committed a crime by keeping the truck, since I was practically encouraged to do so previously - "It's just 40 a day." She on the other had muttered about "fines." - seemingly a lie meant to panic me to return the truck right away, whether I was done or not. Illegal if you ask me, to make such statements. I was concerned about what she said, and asked a UHaul phone person what she could have meant. That person (this is after I have already rented the truck, and used one extra day) said that UHaul charges $10 per extra day for THE UTILITY HAND-TRUCK!! If true, that is rapacious, and IT WAS NEVER MENTIONED WHEN I RESERVED AND RENTED THE TRUCK AND UTILITY HANDTRUCK! That is called bait-and-switch, or breach of contract, I believe. She also mentioned (again, first I had heard of it) that there would be extra insurance fees daily during extended use. That would make the extra cost NOT "$40 dollars a day, easy-peasy" as it had been described.... this should be disclosed properly, as in "$66 a day, including the rapacious handtruck fee and the extra insurance". My clear observation is that UHaul doesn't mention fees in advance, then tries to charge at the end for undisclosed fees. Illegal.David P.

I drove 17 miles and was charged over 30 dollars for fuel. Do your vehicles get less than 2 miles per gallon. I left with the gauge at 3/4 full. I was told fuel was charged at about 4.50. The tank was not full when I left. Ryan. 206 999 1271Ryan D.
Good Afternoon, I want to know why I am being charged an after hour fee of $20 when I was told that they closed at 7pm and we were there before 6:30?Â Â AND I was originally supposed to have the rental for a one way (dropping off in Everett), not round trip.Â Jay insisted that the truck had to me returned to their location that night. This has been the WORST experience dealing with U-Haul.Â My reservation was changed without my knowledge or consent to a different location and time. NoÂ one planning a move at 8am would be ok with it being changed to 3 PM and way further out than the 1 mile away fromÂ my house. Â After numerous phone calls and getting a woman (Sarah)Â in the scheduling department to get me what she could, I got a truck for Shoreline instead of Kenmore.Â This rental process has been nothing short of horrible! Customer service, lack of communication, and locations making decisions for the customers without asking is frustrating and infuriatingÂ to say the least.Â I want the $20 for after hours credited back to my card and a mileage credit as I wouldn't not have went over the expected mileage had my reservation not been pushed outÂ 9 plus miles from my original location to pick up AND 14.6 miles away from my original drop off location.Â Please get back to me asap!Â I will also be forwarding this to corporate, as customer shouldn't have to deal with this when moving is already stressful enough. The desk staff is great very funny and pleasant in a job that can be very stressful. I'm not sure his name but a lady had made it very clear her and her husband had been constantly pestering this employee they wanted special things done for them, and he was incredibly calm and professional the entire time he was being asked the same question over and over and an adult being very whiny. When we dropped off the girl that met me there was immediately funny and also very professional as well we are and will continue to use this branch whenever we need to rent a truck. I requested pickup from a location near my home and was re-assigned to the aurora ;location, much further from my home which added miles to my final bill. Upon arrival to pickup the van I waited over 20 minutes in the lobby, putting myself at risk of COVID exposure. I was told that I had a Full tank of gas when I rented this truck. It was in NO WAY Full....!!! The needle was just below the Full mark, but when I filled it up (3 times) the needle went way beyond the Full Mark. So, you guys got me for an extra 5-6 gallons of gas. The only problem I had easily was supposed to pick up my box in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on 10/25. No trailer. My friend who was going to help me unload was flying back to Seattle on 10/26. I ended up getting my stuff on 10/29. The location did not have a trailer available until 10/29. Everyone was kind and helpful in Seattle and Baton Rouge.Marianne S.
