My final, of many repeated and similar versions of the reservation (as well as many earlier ones), stated that the drop-off location would be Ballinger, WA. Then, 15 MINUTES AFTER I DROVE OFF IN THE truck, somebody in a call center called (distracting me from driving a 26 foot truck for the second time ever) to tell me that no, I had to return the truck to the Shoreline location. I said, but my reservation... she said Ballinger can't deal with such a large truck. So I conclude that the reservation to drop off at Ballinger was fraudulent, and merely meant to entice me into going with UHaul... your computer system should NEVER ALLOW a reservation for a 26 foot truck at a location that CANNOT ACCOMODATE such a truck. But it does, which confirms my conclusion that bait and switch is a major, intentional, part of the UHaul business plan....! A scheduler told me, when I asked two days before returning the truck, whether there is a grace period of time to return the truck, that there is a 2 hour grace period. Then on the day of, a different person, at the drop-off location, claimed there was no grace period (this upset me as I was driving and knew I would be a little late, but not 2 hours late. Then when I arrived at drop-off, they accepted my lateness. I just would like to know what the policy is, not be told one thing by one person and another by another. Very frustrating. Also, I was repeatedly told, in advance, and at pick-up "It's just $40 per extra day." Then when I kept the truck an extra day, the drop-off people were calling and claiming there would be "fines" for returning the truck late.... she acted like I had really messed up keeping the truck, quite in contrast to the "No problem, keep the truck, it's just $40 per extra day" attitude I got BEFORE I rented the truck. She claimed that she was upset because I was telling her "at the last minute" (about 3 hours before drop-off time)... so I asked her to define "the last minute" and she never did. I pointed out that I was never told to call ahead by any particular time (I don't recall whether I was ever told to call ahead at all...) regarding keeping the truck extra days... but I certainly was not told I had to call ahead by a particular time (4 hours? 12 hours? ) in advance of keeping the truck an extra day. If this matters a lot, then UHaul should both 1) instruct the renters clearly about when to call ahead to inform about keeping the truck and 2) make it EASY to call in to inform about keeping the truck -- right now it is an agony to speak with anyone, typically involving a 10 or 15 minute wait while being tortured by a repetitive series of UHaul ads and terrible music. When one is behind on a moving project, one may not have the time to go through that process just to tell UHaul about whether you think you might need the truck an extra day. The person who called in the morning to know if I was returning the truck that day should have called much sooner, if it was that important to her, and she CERTAINLY shouldn't be acting like I have committed a crime by keeping the truck, since I was practically encouraged to do so previously - "It's just 40 a day." She on the other had muttered about "fines." - seemingly a lie meant to panic me to return the truck right away, whether I was done or not. Illegal if you ask me, to make such statements. I was concerned about what she said, and asked a UHaul phone person what she could have meant. That person (this is after I have already rented the truck, and used one extra day) said that UHaul charges $10 per extra day for THE UTILITY HAND-TRUCK!! If true, that is rapacious, and IT WAS NEVER MENTIONED WHEN I RESERVED AND RENTED THE TRUCK AND UTILITY HANDTRUCK! That is called bait-and-switch, or breach of contract, I believe. She also mentioned (again, first I had heard of it) that there would be extra insurance fees daily during extended use. That would make the extra cost NOT "$40 dollars a day, easy-peasy" as it had been described.... this should be disclosed properly, as in "$66 a day, including the rapacious handtruck fee and the extra insurance". My clear observation is that UHaul doesn't mention fees in advance, then tries to charge at the end for undisclosed fees. Illegal.

I drove 17 miles and was charged over 30 dollars for fuel. Do your vehicles get less than 2 miles per gallon. I left with the gauge at 3/4 full. I was told fuel was charged at about 4.50. The tank was not full when I left. Ryan. 206 999 1271

Good Afternoon, I want to know why I am being charged an after hour fee of $20 when I was told that they closed at 7pm and we were there before 6:30?   AND I was originally supposed to have the rental for a one way (dropping off in Everett), not round trip.  Jay insisted that the truck had to me returned to their location that night. This has been the WORST experience dealing with U-Haul.  My reservation was changed without my knowledge or consent to a different location and time. No one planning a move at 8am would be ok with it being changed to 3 PM and way further out than the 1 mile away from my house.  After numerous phone calls and getting a woman (Sarah) in the scheduling department to get me what she could, I got a truck for Shoreline instead of Kenmore.  This rental process has been nothing short of horrible! Customer service, lack of communication, and locations making decisions for the customers without asking is frustrating and infuriating to say the least.  I want the $20 for after hours credited back to my card and a mileage credit as I wouldn't not have went over the expected mileage had my reservation not been pushed out 9 plus miles from my original location to pick up AND 14.6 miles away from my original drop off location.  Please get back to me asap!  I will also be forwarding this to corporate, as customer shouldn't have to deal with this when moving is already stressful enough. The desk staff is great very funny and pleasant in a job that can be very stressful. I'm not sure his name but a lady had made it very clear her and her husband had been constantly pestering this employee they wanted special things done for them, and he was incredibly calm and professional the entire time he was being asked the same question over and over and an adult being very whiny. When we dropped off the girl that met me there was immediately funny and also very professional as well we are and will continue to use this branch whenever we need to rent a truck. I requested pickup from a location near my home and was re-assigned to the aurora ;location, much further from my home which added miles to my final bill. Upon arrival to pickup the van I waited over 20 minutes in the lobby, putting myself at risk of COVID exposure. Pickup times should be staggered to reduce long lines and unnecessary exposure to COVID.

I was told that I had a Full tank of gas when I rented this truck. It was in NO WAY Full....!!! The needle was just below the Full mark, but when I filled it up (3 times) the needle went way beyond the Full Mark. So, you guys got me for an extra 5-6 gallons of gas. Not too happy about that and will tell others to watch out

We booked online and received a phone confirmation for a 10 am pick up. Upon arriving, we were told that our reservation was for 2 pm that day. We were able to take a smaller, but available, van. We were also charged for furniture pads that weren't in the van.

The only problem I had easily was supposed to pick up my box in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on 10/25. No trailer. My friend who was going to help me unload was flying back to Seattle on 10/26. I ended up getting my stuff on 10/29. The location did not have a trailer available until 10/29. Everyone was kind and helpful in Seattle and Baton Rouge.

This location charged me for 47 miles on a truck that barely had 12 miles used - I only went from the U-Haul location to my home (1.1 miles) and to the transfer station (3 miles) - round trip. this was a short journey - not sure why they felt the need to lie about the mileage to make my bill higher.

(2) Not specific to this location, but the phone-based check-out and return system, while a great idea, was balky and confusing, took more time than I would have face-to-face (before covid).

The truck Had been cleaned, but it smelled like cigarettes. The location was fine. The staff did not seem very well trained. 2 people were waiting on one person while the line was out the door. The truck we were assigned was blocked in on all sides so impossible to get out without someone moving another vehicle. Should the one on the outside be rented first? Return was easy. Price per mile is higher than competitors as well.

My experience was that my reservation (made a whole month in advance) was changed to a place 30 extra minutes away and two hours later with about 16 hours notice. Then I had it changed to the original location and had to have a smaller truck. The woman didn't tell me she had changed my reservation from a one way to a there and back trip, which was a surprise when I got to the locale in the morning. The man THERE luckily took my story at face value, which was a blessing, and made the adjustment, but I did have to pay $5.00 more for the privilege. All in all, while this place wasn't bad, the Uhaul experience unfortunately was. To the man who assisted me at this site, thanks, and I'm sorry I couldn't find a reasonable way to get your truck back to you. I hope you didn't take too much flak for being a decent person.

Had a reservation to pick the truck up at Uhaul at 8am. Got there at 7:45am... and while in line they sent an email saying our truck was unavailable and wouldn't be ready until 3:15pm. Our movers are supposed to be at the house in 7 minutes. Update: we switched it to 9am tomorrow and then when I was on the phone with the movers trying to get them to switch it (they were already enroute of course, so I have to pay them twice) she came running out and said the people with the truck called and they were about to wake up the person who was supposed to return the truck so it would be there soon... so we could pick it up at 1pm today. So I switched the movers to 1:30. And then I go back in and she's on the phone and the person said he already returns the truck and it should be there... but it isn't. So she put us down got another truck for 3pm today and I had Martin call the movers and switch it again and while he was on the phone, she said she found the keys for the truck we were supposed to have but she can't find the truck.... Wtf. As of right now we are going back at 3pm to get the truck. What a total cluster fuck. If we get there at 3pm and there is no truck, I will be going to prison tonight... Update 2 in case you didn't see my other post: got there at 3pm. No truck. They said it was on the way. She pulled in with it at 3:25pm. Finally got it home around 4pm and the movers are loading it now. Run away and never use this company. Worst service and worst experience I have ever received. Not a single person there cares or could figure out what was going on or what to do. Seriously. Don't. Rent. Things. Here.

cab should have been wiped down and body washed, it was not. Change oil indicator light was on - should have been addressed. However, the staff at this location is so very helpful and kind it makes up for anything. Definately will use again.

Had a longish wait despite arriving on time for my reservation, but the manager was helping a couple ahead of me and gave them his full attention. van was in good repair. upon return Jay checked it back in for me, despite the website's admonishment that there would be a charge for not checking in on the mobile app. I accomplished my quick move goal so...good experience.

Get two separate phone calls tellng me that the truck I reserved would not be available and the smaller truck they had was 10 miles further away. Nice people but poorly run. Have always had good luck with Uhaul. Will look to other companies next time I need a truck.

I have rented from this location many times in the past. Things are highly efficient and we'll run. The vehicles are typically in clean and good repair. My only beef is with the U-haul organization and it's manner of moving your pickup location. To get a vehicle we needed would have required us to drive 45 minutes away and we're only informed a day ahead of time. Because of our limited manpower and expense of hired movers through the U-haul website we had to down size our truck in order to make our deadlines. So we weren't able to move all our stuff from storage and it will cost us more money to rent another truck and movers not to mention travel time. So yes Shoreline U-haul for your services but boo to U-haul for a lousy job working with your customers.

The manager at this location treated me so poorly, that I had to call in to customer service and submit a formal complaint, immediately after I picked up my rental. The manager needs to have his surveillance footage pulled, reviewed, and needs a complete baseline employee training, moreover management retraining on how to provide the very basics in customer service if he wants to keep customers coming in to his store. As a customer who spent more than $5k at this store over the last year, I was appalled at the way he treated me, and with the way he spoke to me. He was way out of line. I never had an issue with previous management.

Window had been partially left down so can was wet from rain. Location understaffed with substantial wait times. Took over 30 minutes to get to counter when I already had a reservation. Person in front of me had not been contacted about location not having his Prearranged truck avail and left very unhappy. Female staff member (no visible name tag) was very friendly and trying her best. Was a little odd having the person helping me pull out his cell phone and take pictures of my Iicense even though I had it entered in system and would expect him to check it and perhaps type not photograph. I wasn't too concerned but imagine it would have been alarming especially not verbally addressing it. Truck was ready and I hope this was just a tough day for the locution not the norm as several people were impatiently frustrated by the wait time.

The web checkin process was cool. Unfortunately it told me that I was in the wrong location, based on GPS. I almost left, but double-checked the address and discovered I was at the right place.

I came using the phone login to attempt to pick-up the truck and it gave me a specific truck ID to locate. Once I did so I found out that it was parked behind some other truck and not ready. I was able to find an employee to get somebody to move the truck in front of the one I had shown on my screen for check-in. Once I was virtually checked in over the phone I was supposed to go inside to retrieve the keys. After waiting in line and finally getting the keys I found out somehow the truck ID was different then the one on the check-in process I went through so I spent nearly 20 minutes trying to get to a truck they changed to another one anyhow. The website check-in was supposed to be quicker and more efficient, but just ended up causing more issues and taking more time and cutting into my rental time. The check-in of the truck after I was finished was easier as I only had to park the truck and let one of the lot attendants know. I'd recommend this place, but it seems easier just to go inside and deal with the people then their website 'check-in' process with changing trucks on me with no communication while in the middle of the process.

I was charged for an entire extra day for being a half hour late. Just because this is a rule you made doesn't mean that its a good one. In the wake of the economic fall-out from Covid people are struggling to get by and some are being forced to move due to loss of income. To slap a full day's charge just for being late doesn't seem equal to the offense. The late fee should be incremental to match the time the return was late.

Next time call and let customer know what they rented is not gonna be expected I rented a 26 and got a 20 had to leave bunch of my stuff behind because they wouldn't fit U-Haul claims they called me but I did not receive a si gel call sorry but you just lost business with me going over to other companies and all because of trying to save a couple bucks

The gentleman at check-in at 7:00am was very nice and efficient, as was the gentleman that received my return truck. The workers under the canopy weren't not-nice, but they certainly didn't have the same zest for their job as other workers. But they were fine.

The man I checked in with rented my van to another person and refused to believe I had a reservation. He said he couldn't find me until I pointed on his computer screen to my reservation. After much headache I got out 30 min late. I then returned the van clean 20 minutes before my rental period was over, but they marked it as checked in 23 minutes after the rental period. So I got charged double the fees. This location actually robbed me of my money through this dishonesty. I never want to rent from Uhaul again after this experience.

Worst customer experience at Uhaul that I have ever had. We rented a dolly and it wasn't even on the truck. We rented a truck for 12 hours but place overbooked and we only got to use the truck for two hours. Now we are hauling stuff in out car. Never renting from Uhaul again.

The location and employees were fantastic, I grew up in this area and it's been here for 40 plus years, Super service hard working staff, Best U-haul rental location. My only thought was receiving a email after I made a online reservation that I needed to make a appointment to have my car inspected was something that should have been part of the reservation not a separate email hours later. The service was great and the staff were nice and friendly. The only problem was that things were a little slow. It took me almost an hour to finish the paperwork and get the truck! I would have given it an "excellent" overall rating, if it was not for delay. Still, highly recommend the location.

The staff at both facilities I dealt with in Phoenix and Shoreline were amazing!!! Both managers were fantastic and a special shout out to Julian Whalen in Shoreline, he was friendly and very helpful.
