The previous General Manger was Matt, and he was exceptional at customer service. In my last two rentals, I've had a couple interactions with the new GM, Danielle, and she has come off as condescending and rude in each of them. I expressed some concerns and frustrations from my first interaction with her to U-Haul staff during a subsequent rental, and the following day - during the return, she accused me of using descriptive language about her, that I simply did not use. Hopefully this feedback, and several other comments from U-Haul customers can help improve the customer experience.marcin L.
Danelle (Manager) was super rude and disrespectful when I asked if I could get a newer truck. I had 50k of earnest money that was on the line if I didn't get my move done that day. She gave me the oldest beat up truck with over 195k miles on it. I asked her several times for a new truck as my move was super critical, there were 8 other trucks there of the same size and I was the only mid week customer there at the time. I used to work for Uhaul, and I am the customer paying. She was absolutely a terrible representation of Uhaul. Please forward this message to the customer satisfaction. The manager was rude and unprofessional. The trailer had a short in the wiring harness and the manager insisted it was a problem with my vehicle but when we showed her the issue was with the trailer, she told us not to worry about it â€œjust check your mirrors every once in a while to see if the lights are still onâ€. The trailer was only available 20 hours not 24 hours even though that's what was paid for. Danielle called and left a condescending message before the trailer was even due. When I arrived (before the time the trailer was due), I asked for her managers number. She handed me her card and said I was being selfish. I have worked many years in retail and been a store manager for over 15 and I would never treat or allow my employees treat customers this way. This was also the second time I have had to deal with this person. The first time, I thought maybe she was just having a bad day.CATON R.

This is my second reservation actually. I made me previous one at titan solutions down the road 2 days earlier for 1pm and showed up and waited for 30 minutes for no one to show up. This time I got to use the virtual check-in and surprised by things that delayed the process like someone verify my by phone because i wasn't carrying a passport and you didn't like my companies name for verification. Had to wait in line for the key. When returning I was being barked at by a gem of an employee to roll down my window. Twice he barked at me and then lectured me after I opened the door telling me I could have just rolled down the window. My reply to him was put on mask like your required to have when not distancing. His eventual mask is not approved. He was poorly dressed and maintained.Chris F.

The pickup and drop off process is very annoying and difficult. Confirming location doesn't work, so I had to scan the bar code to pickup. But for drop off, scanning the bar code wasn't an option. I decided to download the app, which solved that issue, but then the app got stuck when trying to take a picture of the gas/mileage. It was very frustrating. I ended up having to go inside and they couldn't get it to work either, so they did the check in for me.. Please fix your app and the location services issue.Mohammad H.

Chris was most helpful- the tail lights on the trailer were not working- turns out the wire harness on my vehicle was the problem. He was quick to help me troubleshoot the problem. The van was clean and in good working order. The employees we spoke with were polite and helpful. I used the smartphone self-serve pickup/dropoff option. I had a problem with the location requirement (my phone was not transmitting its location even with correct settings) but this was fixed by using somebody else's phone which worked properly, and is not the fault of U-haul. But if you are at all concerned that your phone will not transmit its location, and you do not have an alternate phone available, beware, as it will derail the whole process. Everything else about the process worked fine. Some after-hours cleaning supplies would be helpful, or else a clear notice from the beginning that you will have to bring your own if you come back after hours. We had gotten some mud on the floor in the van's cab, and we had enough of our own supplies with us to clean it off, but at least some water or a broom or something on site would have been nice, along with some direction on where to find it. (Though it might not be possible to leave cleaning things out all night in this neighborhood without problems.)Darian P.

It took me 1.75 hours to leave the property because, there was only one person working at the front desk -ON A SATURDAY MORNING! Most people have jobs and can only get moving done on a weekend but I waited in line for over a half hour just to get my contract. Then the uhaul didn't have the trailer adapter on hand for me to hook up the lights so I had to drive to an auto parts store to get what they should've had on hand. When I came back with the correct part, I had to wait even longer -even though I had arrived long before all of the other people who were being helped. I had an appointment at 11am to pick up my trailer but I didn't leave the property until 12:45. Just before I left I asked the manager to have my 24 hour rental period adjusted and she (the manager) told me that I didn't have the correct adapter so, essentially it was my fault. Completely disregarding how long I had to wait for service simply because they were understaffted AND that they should've had the adapter on site but didn't.JONATHAN P.

Upon my inspection, I asked the attendant who hooked us up about the condition of one of the tires. He didn't seem to be concerned. We were driving over 3000 miles. After 2000 appx, we had a blow out in the middle of nowhere and were stranded for 2.5 hours. Uhaul should carefully check the condition of tires before rental if a unit going that far.RUSSELL W.

You got me Uhaul, you got me good. I rented a Uhaul trailer, had a great interaction with customer rep, dropped it off a few hours later in my return window, and everything seemed like it couldn't get better. Until I learned I was supposed to login to an app when I dropped off the trailer or I'll get charged. (I asked the rep if there was anything special I needed to do when dropping it off after hours, they shook their head no and said, just drop it behind the stop sign). So I called into north lynnwood which ultimately transferred me to Uhaul corporate. After waiting on hold for 30 minutes I spoke with a representative of Uhaul Corporate and they got me a reference id to ask for a refund from North Lynnwood. A representative from U-Haul in North Lynnwood called me an hour later and told me they wouldn't be issuing me a $20 refund because I missed a technicality of the contract where I had to login and say I dropped off the trailer. I admit, I'm not an expert with Uhauls protocols. But what's more frustrating, I found out that they can't issue me a $20 refund because they get charged a $20 fee from Uhaul corporate if I don't login and say I dropped it off. Unfortunately, I've become more of an expert of Uhaul's inner-workings than I'd like to be. So I sent in a request to Uhaul corporate: I'm requesting that Uhaul corporate doesn't charge North Lynnwood Uhaul, so that North Lynnwood Uhaul doesn't have to charge me. I've been had on a technicality, and in my opinion that's bad business. We've rented Uhaul in the past and dropped stuff off and never had any problem, but the rules have been changed and that's how you got me. What's frustrating is that I went above and beyond to put the trailer in a place where it would be safer, instead of putting it in the place where I was supposed to put it - which would have blocked the entrance and become a nightmare for them to move. Thankfully I didn't get charged for that, but that's because Uhaul corporate isn't charging them. Can Uhaul corporate do something here, or have you set up all the inner workings to make sure your hands are tied too? GraciasRICHARD K.
Check out took way too long. Only one person working the counter. Truck ramp was extremely dangerous. It was way too short for length of truck. That needs to be fixed before that truck is ever rented again. At return, an older gentleman was extremely rude when we arrived 10 minutes before opening. He stated in an incredibly rude tone (what he said was true, but come on with the tone and attitude), that we can check our selves in or wait until it opens at 9am. Then a few moments later an extremely nice man just checked us in. Gave good ratings because of the nice guy at the end, good price for the move, clean store and truck. The online check in was pointless because I had to go inside anyway. The reason for selecting that was a contactless pick up which was thwarted by needing to collect the key inside instead of from the lockbox outside. When I approached someone behind the counter to show him my truck number, his only comment was â€œI don't know how to do that â€œ and he pointed to someone who was already helping another person. Once I got the key and found the truck, it was filthy and parked less than six inches from the truck on the passenger side, rendering that mirror useless. It took five minutes to back out because I couldn't see anything and didn't want to hit the other truck. At one point while I had the truck, releasing the parking brake caused a considerable amount of dried mud (hopefully) to fly up, covering my face and left arm.Colin M.

We drove in a Uhaul truck for 9 hours for this move. As time was getting tight, we called the office to understand how we could get into our unit If we arrived after hours. We were told that they couldn't help us and that we needed to go online. We skipped all other stops and arrived at 4:57 - three minutes before the office closed. As I walked in the office manager told one Employees to lock the door before anyone else came in. Then he proceeded to tell me that he could not help me and that I needed so go online. I stood in front of the man and stumbled through the online experience. I received my access code and went outdoors to the keypad. The code did not work. I went back to the office and knocked on the door. I told the manager that the code wasn't working. He told me that there was nothing he could do and that rather than using my security code, I could just wait until one of the others moving in opened the door. He said that without the security code at the front door, and alarm would go off when I opened our unit, but to just ignore that - it would go off in 10 seconds. The only person at this location who helped was Jade. After the day manager left, she came out and helped us with the security code and gave us their cell number for text questions. I have security concerns about this location. Your office manager is a very poor representation of the company. He is a deterrent and I would warn people to use one of the many other storage options in the area.Leah S. | Online Move In

We were helped by a manager at the facility. He was very helpful but we ran into problems with a unit that was locked that shouldn't be. He said he would give us a month free because of the Hassle. But at the end of our visit I realized that he didn't know what he was doing ( not to mention also on prescription drugs because of a surgery and at work...). He could not finish our transition that day for some reason and said that I would get a call the next day to finish the transaction and it will be all set. I never got a call. I have a busy schedule so this is not something that is top of my priority. He said he would get it fixed for me and yet he never did. A week passed and I didn't get a call so when I had time I would call into the store but no one would ever pick up. My boyfriend tried calling as well and would be sent to an external number. We then received late fee because we didn't pay our bill but that wasn't our fault. The only reason we got this issue solved was because we drove all the way back to the uhaul store and talked with the guy who was supposed to fix this issue weeks ago! This was the worst customer service I have ever experience. First off, your employees should not be working if they are on medication and supposed to be home recovering. He probably messed this whole situation up because he wasn't thinking straight. This has been a very poor experience. I am upset that I could not even get ahold of a single employee who works at this location on the phone, I had to drive all the way back when I was told I wouldn't have to and it would be worked out. I am very very disappointed and do not see myself recommending this location to anyone I know.
