The office team (Charlene and all other contacts) helped me get the best return site. Love the super online tools. Oh, one other thing: when told to put on the brake to secure tow vehicle, remind customer to RELEASE brake after secured. Other drivers on freeway signaled me about the smoke pouring out from rest wheels. Had to stop ON FREEWAY to RELEASE brake. All wall after that the smoke stopped and went on our way no other worries. I didn't know what size van I needed so I went with the 10 feet one. When I was in store reserving it, it would have been nice to be advised that the 10 feet van does not have a ramp. I needed the ramp to move a very heavy safe, which I wasn't able to move. On the website, it does state the 10 feet van does not have a ramp after researching it. So a simple question â€œdo you need a ramp for your moveâ€ would be helpful in choosing the right moving van. Gracias.Pennsota N.

The afterhours drop off on-line wasn't successful. On the app it will not allow you to proceed unless you share your location on your phone, which I did. However, the app would not proceed past this part so I was never able to check-in online and just ended up dropping keys off anyway. There should be a back-up plan if the online app isn't working properly. However, the site got me checked in the next morning and sent me a receipt which I appreciated.Julian Christina S.

Our drop off time was 11am. We showed up at 9am, and because the office was jam packed, the lady at the desk told us that if we were returning to just â€œgo park the vanâ€ and bring the keys back and place them on the desk. Walked out, parked the van, returned to key to the desk, and left. Around 3:30pm I receive a text that we hadn't returned the van! We try calling, no luck. I login to the reservation and see the option to â€œreturnâ€ the van, but it instructs we have to be present at the location and take photos. Hubby had to run back down there, check in through the website, process the return of the van, AND we got charged extra for â€œnot returning it on timeâ€. We could have done all of this at 9am when we actually returned the van - but no, we were told to â€œpark it, and come set the key on the deskâ€. Next time we'll rent a pod.Calvin K.

There was a lack of transparency on the process for picking up the pods. None of the confirmation emails stated that I needed to make a â€œreservationâ€ time to pick up the pods. Luckily I called the store to double check and this was clarified. However, all 3 representatives I spoke with gave me different information about when I could get my pods, and when I could drop them off. It was also not made clear anywhere in the process that if you do self delivery you can only have 1 pod at a time. Uhaul sent me about 10 emails during this process, I would think that one of them could clarify the actual details I mentioned above. The employees I interacted with in person were very helpful, and the pods were delivered ahead of schedule which pleasantly surprised me.JAY A.

Tons of hidden fees, quoted at 40 some odd dollars on the phone and ended up paying $150+. Store is filled with young, tired, slow, stoner boys. I'm still not even sure the order I placed on the phone was retrieved when my partner picked the truck up. Eye opening experience. When hooking up the trailer the employee put the tongue down on the ball and was not fully seated. I had to point this out to him, he stated that I would brought it to his attention. He stated that I would have to reposition the truck, I had to correct him that the ball lock was caught on the ball and just needed to lift the trailed to release the lock. After that I proceeded to watch him install the safety chains and would have dragged on the ground. Upon installing the third chain he corrected the others. He did not check the trailer lights, I had to do that. After driving the car hauler 4 miles to pick up the vehicle to be transported at freeway speeds, I started to load up the vehicle and found that the lock on the tongue was not secured. The tongue of the trailer came up and almost went into my tailgate of my truck. This person needs to be further trained so no further accidents like this will happen.MICHAEL B.

Scheduling the truck delivery of the box was such a pain, I truly hope my experience was an exception... I had it first scheduled for August 5th. Since I had to buy a special parking permit for the box, I called the customer service twice to obtain a confirmation for the day of the delivery. After more than one hour of wait time for each call, I finally got to talk to someone who confirmed that "the box would be delivered on 08/05, as requested" but could not confirm the delivery time. I therefore purchased the appropriate parking permit accordingly. However, two days before the expected delivery, I called again to obtain the delivery time in order to hire helpers (stayed on hold for almost 2 hours, this time) and this time I was told that the box could not be delivered on August 5th, and that it needed to be postponed to August 9th. I find it unbelievable because - I had not been informed earlier and if I didn't call myself, I would not have been informed at all and my parking permit would have gone useless and turned into wasted money; - I incurred personal expenses due to this poor management which U-Haul seems to not care about (more than 4 hours spent on the phone, changes to parking permit, taking another day off work for the change in delivery date, change of helpers, 4 more nights out booked in the last minute...). And it gets better: the day of the delivery, the box was delivered with 3 hours of delay. I had been waiting patiently in the street and, here again, I finally called to get an update after one hour of delay to hear that "it should arrive any time soon"; yet I received another phone call 30 minutes later to let me know that the delay was going to be longer.... I am very unhappy with the delivery complications and I believe U-Haul can improve their communication with customers quite a lot: it is not acceptable not to inform people of such major changes when they have to coordinate their moves with third parties (e.g. city parking administration) and it is not acceptable not to inform them of significant delays either...Raphael E.

My experience started off very positive. My boxes were brought to my old apartment to be loaded on time, and taken on the day they said it would be. However, it was downhill from there on out. When my box did not show up on time, I received zero communication regarding why it was late, where it was, how long it would take, or what the next steps were. Not only was my box 12 days late, meaning I slept on the floor for 11 nights, but I thought my box had been lost and the customer service I received was horrendous. The only exception to this was the employees at my end destination who were kind and apologetic, but could not provide information about the whereabouts of the box. To top it off, in the midst of this, the beginning location emailed me to say they will be bumping up the monthly charge of the box this month because the location is expanding their services, when I should have already had my box and therefore wouldn't have had to pay rent for another month. There is a dire need for increased communication surrounding the location of the box, notifying customers when it is late, compensating customers for the delay (which should be enough to stay in a hotel each night, not just $50 which I still haven't received), and empathy for when experiences go wrong. I will not be using or recommending UHaul in the future.Sarah R.

U-Box seems to be an entity of its own meaning none of the staff have knowledge of the actual logistical process. The quantity of boxes was wrong. Pick up and drop off was an ordeal. Dates were wrong. My address was wrong. I spent hours on the phone, mostly on hold, trying to situate details of this move. I would not recommend this service. It was stressful and the â€œcustomer serviceâ€ representatives were not versed at all in U-box. I was told by multiple people the â€œU-box personâ€ was unavailable. Why is one person responsible for this service supposedly? The actual staff at the OR store was amazingly helpful. Customer service support via telephone was awful and not helpful. I hope no one else has to feel the stressors of a cross country move like we encountered from your â€œserviceâ€ with U-box.NALIN W.

I showed up at 8 this morning and attempted to use the do it yourself thing on my phone. I followed the directions and it gave me my truck number to look for and a map that was sort of hard to read. I couldn't find the truck number anywhere so I clicked on the message icon to see if that would let me get help. I noticed after I clicked it that a representative had already tried to message me. He said I needed to retake my selfie photo without a hat on. So I did that and re did the entire process which was horribly frustrating because I had to enter a new reference phone number. At this point I was running out of people. Then at the end I was given a new truck number to find. Once I finally found the truck, I clicked "found truck" and it said there was an error. So I clicked the message icon again and was once again told to take a photo without a hat on but I had already done that three times! That was when my mother and other reference contact called me asking why I was renting a uhaul truck and why the guy on the phone was an asshole to them. I will never return to uhual after that horrible experience. I will rent a truck to home depot which I have done before and was very pleasant.Mariah B.

Only feedback is that the alarm would consistently go off when I was accessing or leaving my unit - even when I used my remote access button to get into the garage. Had a very good experience here. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The facility is fantastic! I've used self-storage previously, but this is the nicest facility I've ever seen. The drive-through drop-off area is sheltered and warm, there are plenty of carts and dollies to get items from your vehicle to your storage unit, and the interior is a comfortable temperature, and kept very clean. We considered an upstairs unit, but chose a first floor unit because there is no elevator. This is the only downside of this facility.Alynn V. | First Impressions

Because it was going to be a rainy day, Sean placed my 3 UHaul Boxes into the covered drive-through area, which was a game-changer for me as I needed to sorted through the contents. When I decided to not take everything to my new apartment, it was very easy and efficient to rent a storage locker on the main floor.
