This below average rating mostly applies to the location on Yakima Avenue in Tacoma, where I was redirected to pick up my trailer after it was unavailable at the initial location Seattle. Not only was this an inconvenience, as I had to make new plans the morning of my move in order to pick up the trailer in a different city, but when we got there the trailer was not ready and had to be repaired before we could go. The chains were also not in good condition and were dragging and sparking, which we noticed later in the drive after it got dark. The Tacoma location seemed to be running poorly and we were significantly delayed in our move because of this extra stop, in addition to it costing extra in gas to get to Tacoma.

Jessica FI have used UHaul many times and have never had such a horrible experience. The General manager at the store has no concern for good customer relations. Her attitude was confrontational and demeaning right from the start. This was all related to the amount of gas that was in the truck when I picked it up. She wanted to know who had changed the amount. I told her that I did based on the gauge. She challenged that, claiming I was conniving and had changed it to cheat her out of money. This was absolutely untrue. She was absolutely the worst person I have ever dealt with at a UHaul location. She stated that if there was not the amount of gas she claimed 7/16 vs the 1/2 she claimed she was going to charge me for it. When she checked there was actually over 1/2 a tank. When I pointed that fact out she told me I was so generous in a derogatory voice. I will never return to this location.

STEVEN MImprove your system to help the manager / workers at this location. The systems were down and it took an hour to get my U-Haul off the lot. Then they lost track of my reservation after I returned it and accused me of holding the van for multiple days past due. Very messy and inconvenient service
colin dI can't recall the last time i ever had such excellent customer service experience at a U-Haul location in decades of utilizing them at need times. This location and this staff is exceptional. Kudos to U-Haul management for bringing on excellent customer centric associates and offering an exceptional service with great equipment and making the process seamless. Additionally, i would like to point out their investment in technology, their website and app are exceptionally easy and efficient to use and make the entire process seamless. Willd definitely be back for more of this excellent experience.

JAMES SThe location is easy to navigate, however the wait time was extremely long. With one person working it took about 40 min to 1 hour to get checked in. I would have checked in via mobile app, but it was not working properly. I would recommend organizing the trucks and vans a bit better and doing some pre day planning on where trucks are. About three people, including myself, had to come back in to have the worker move trucks out of the way so we could get the truck assigned to us out.

ANTHONY SJulie (the manager) was the only saving grace to this place. Curtis was neglectful, the other employees there were wholly confused/misguided, nobody paid any mind to a building line, I lost 30+ minutes of my reservation due to Curtis' inability to focus on each customer as they arrived (after arriving early and pre-checking in online), and I was told that a vehicle that I reserved *weeks* ago wasn't readily available at my scheduled pick-up time. I want some form of returned compensation for this experience. Julie was great. Everyone and everything else was... not.
Craig JEveryone at the uhaul at interbay was incredibly kind and helpful. I wish I could remember all of their names. Julie, the store manager, is a true gem. She helped me in person and over the phone. I was super stressed about a quick move. Julie and her team made me feel cared for. This location is truly killing it!!
Natelie CI have rented the cargo vans at this location at least 2 times a month for my business for the last 2 years and the customer service here is excellent every time. The staff is very friendly and professional. The vans are always clean and well maintenance. They are fast with check in and check out process. I’m really happy with the service.

I checked in online and tried to do everything to expedite the process. You guys need a serious over haul!!

Upon request, a 2nd van was provided (after an additional delay in rental). 2nd van would not start after parking 7 miles away from the U-haul location. I was told a discount would be provided for the inconvenience but none was provided.

patrick jReserved a pickup truck to move a couch. Drove the 45 minutes to the U-Haul location only to get a phone call from U-Haul saying they did not have the truck reserved. I could see one in the parking lot. I had to ask if another vehicle was available. I was put into a very large moving vehicle that was very inconvenient. When checking out, the price was wrong and long phone calls had to be made to rectify the problem. And still, the correct price could not be accomplished. I have another U-Haul scheduled and I am considering an alternative as I have lost confidence that my reservation will be available.

Samiyed MThe truck I received was completely out of gas. When I got in the truck it said it was 16 miles to empty and I got less then 4 miles away and it ran out of gas. I had to stop it on a side street and it was blocking an intersection. I had to RUN to a gas station buy a gas can fill it with gas and RUN Back to the truck. When I stopped to get it loaded I noticed the lock for the front driver side had completely fallen out.

When I arrived to this Uhaul location the nice gentleman behind the counter was very helpful as well. The staff were all very friendly and the lady who helped me book my reservation she gave me a tour of the storage units which were a lot smaller than I thought they would be but she was going to work with me if I needed a smaller storage unit as well which I was pleased to hear because moving is a pain. Thankfully I was able to fit everything in one larger unit instead of 2 units. It's rare now a days to find great customers service especially in this line of business where it seems like people are not grateful. I hate moving and I tend to get overwhelmed easily so I want to say "THANK YOU" to all the staff members at the Interbay UHAUL location for helping me pull my life together.

When I got to the unit, after office hours but during access hours, my unit had a lock on it that was from the U-Haul office. This lock, and any instructions about the lock were not mentioned at all in the materials I received when purchasing the unit. I was on the phone with customer service for 40 minutes with 3 different agents, all of whom said the lock was not supposed to be there. None of them could help me get into the unit or transfer to a different unit. I ended up having to leave and come back the next morning which was an extreme inconvenience for me and my friends helping me move. Come to find out, this particular U-Haul location started putting locks on their units because of a recent break in, so you have to come in person during office hours to get the lock removed and get a special key card. None of this was mentioned during the online purchase, there's obviously a major communication problem between corporate and individual locations, and unfortunately the customers have to pay the price for that. Not dealing with U-Haul again if I can help it, don't want to take the chance on another blunder

I had a storage unit there for a year and a half and the few times I was there (picking up moving boxes, etc.) you had been some of the most bizarre, angry and unprofessional people working AND it was always a huge disorganized mess. Your computer system is completely inadequate for the volume of business you do at that store! The person waiting on me Saturday said he had been brought in to clean up the mess but the office and store area is still trashed and you seem to be understaffed. However, he was professional and friendly - a huge improvement. I can’t answer the questions about available hours and up until Saturday I would have rated everything beyond poor- it felt dangerous. So, some of my comments are shaded by the unprecedented experiences I had in the past.. NOTE: I hadn’t been at the site August 2019. I would say your grade would be NI - needs improvement. (but much better than the past)
