Even though your workers were very nice, they weren't as thorough as they should be. I wasn't directed to look over vehicle or dolly for damages before I left. I took it upon myself to do it. You charged me for knowing someone that did not pay their bill. I had to pay their debt before I could rent. If that is not bad enough you did not tell me until I was at the store. I had the reservation for 2 weeks that is blackmail. I had nothing fi di with that person's rental but I had to pay their bill. That bought me the privilege of using a truck that smelled like stale cigarettes and butt. Really easy check in process and hardworking employees. Only advice is try to over-quote and then under-charge next time. I was under-quoted by about $40 but it's ok! Just glad to have the equipment when I needed it.Victoria C.
Location and people at the location were fantastic. The U-Haul online experience was awful. Booked my truck, got a call 3 days later saying they don't have that size available any longer... Spent 20 minutes on the phone with an agent trying to find a larger truck in a 30 mile radius with no luck. No other trucking companies had availability 2 days before the weekend. Went through their online walk through with terrible directions, ended up asking a staff member for help and inquired if they did have an extra larger truck (same size as what I had previously booked) in stock. They said they did and that I could do a swap! Saved me an extra trip. Thankfully! Again - Location @ Gresham was amazing, U-Haul online was a terrible experience I will not repeat.Robb R.

This site was chaos. Trucks being hitched to trailers in the return equip lane. Most other parking spaces where coned off so had to park in the pick up area. So that just compounded the mess.Richard B.

overall, I had only 2 people I inter-acted with who were polite and nice. One being the very kind gent who got my transporter hooked up to my truck and my vehicle secured on it (he gets an A+++++ rating for everything. His boss who rented the truck to me was absolutely nasty and mean and obnoxious and does not belong in a customer service job. I won't go into it here but I nearly didn't rent the equipment because of his rudeness. Several customer service agents on the phone I tried to pry info out of, were nasty and obnoxious but the one in Atlanta, GA was super nice and convinced me not to take the truck back because I was tempted to unload my stuff and take the truck back and just be done with it due to the nasty nasty nasty treatment I got from customer service agents. I might not choose U-Haul in the future because they switched my check in point and though I understand staging of assets, customers should get credit on their miles for doing that as my original check in online the day I originally set this up was in Dayton, WA, then it switched to Waitsburg, and then to Walla Walla. By the way the sweet lady in Atlanta gave me an extra day due to the rudeness and the rotten rotten customer service I got when trying to get answers from the other agents. All in all the equipment performed flawlessly except the landing gear jack screw for the transporter needed to be greased as it was so difficult to use it required all of my strength and I am not a weak man, to get that lowered and then later back up to drive it. I usually saw 3 bars or more for fuel economy and found that other than the high noise level in the cab it was a pretty nice move albeit seat positions which were fixed and not movable, were really hard to deal with. I'm glad I only had about 330 or so miles to my destination to drive to or it'd wrecked my back. :( the one lady in Atlanta saved your bacon. She deserves a raise and a promotion for her excellent and kind service to me. Online check in actually took longer than had I waited in line. And I had to go in anyway and wait to get the key. The radio power and volume don't work, so it's always on and can't turn it down. Online checkout was a pain as well. Wouldn't work. Thankfully an employee was available to check me out.Kelli P.

The person who took care of me was outstanding! He was the best mannered and calmest person I have ever dealt with at a u-haul store. The store was crazy busy and he was calm as could be! People at store were friendly and helpful. Trailer was a bit beat up. Reels were not lubricated. Ramps had rough edges. Actually cut my hand on a burr and it bled. Should have worn gloves, yes, but those edges need to be filed or have the ramps replaced. Would be great if the provided wheel straps were long enough to go over tires on my jeep. Had to provide my own straps to fit. Website said store would have proper straps to sell me; they did not. Proper straps should be provided. Experience was good due to the good attitude of the U-Haul employee. The equipment was good enough to do the job as long as I provided the proper length of strapping but that particular trailer needs a bit of attention. The provided strapping could be improved to make transporting vehicles with larger tires easier to accomplish.GORDON S.

My arrival at this store was because a different store had a corporate customer not return several units and my reservation was not available. Unfortunately another mix-up occurred in the process which was I was told the Gresham location had one reserved for me now but when I arrived they had no record of it. The manager was very understanding and while he had no truck of the size I needed he did get me the next closest one and apologized for the poor coordination and communication. Without the manager making room for the smaller truck my move would have been cancelled for the day and I would have lost several hundred dollars in minimum fee's for the movers I had reserved.George K.
The uhaul was very dirty. I had to clean windshield and windows inside and out just to have a clear view. Dried mud, garbage under drivers seat, dash very dirty and dusty like hadn't been cleaned in over a month or longer. No gas on pickup, was nearly empty less than a quarter of tank. I had troubles with the U-Haul self checkout app... asking for my DL when I'd already uploaded it from home, page was too short so entering text in fields is hidden behind my keyboard on Android, and misc retry errors that for me as a very tech savvy user, make the lines in the store preferable to the self-checkout process for future rentals.David O.

I had ordered an appliance dolly and they had included a regular dolly. We switched out but attendant forgot to record. I was charged for a new dolly on the other end when it wasn't returned. Took a bit of time to call and straighten things out. a bit more follow-through would be a good idea. My storage unit was broken into. Nothing was done about it. No one looked through surveillance videos, I wasn't offered any compensation. No one really seemed to car. I paid a lot of money and my stuff would have been safer if I left it on a street corner. The location and hours were fine. The only reason I had to leave was because there was a rodent infestation in my unit. It appeared that mice came in through two different holes in the unit and left urine and feces all over, as well as a few dead mice. I know for certain I did not have any perishable items that would cause this issue. It was all furniture and appliances. I would not recommend this location for your storage needs, I basically paid to have my items pooped on- gross! Just a suggestion but perhaps rent a larger and or multiple dumpsters and charge $10 or $20/month for those who wish to rent them or flat charge everyone like $5/month. You would most likely Make Money this way while eliminating the current issue of being dbl charged for over flowing dumpsters. That same plan outline would work for electricity use and or access to even if only on a monthy basis. Sometimes the only spare time I have to get something out, in, or clean my storage unit is after dark and having had both an inside and outside unit I would have Gladly Paid to rent electricity so I could plug ina light to see wth I'm doing. Second time I have dealt with the person checking us in. Abrupt and not flexible.. Showed us what we needed to know. When asked about the free lock, because it says on the website multiple times - free lock with a rental. He could not handle the customer service and said, No! That is not how we do it here. When we got to the unit. There was a lock inside. He scooped it up. I said again. The website says there is a lock included. Again. He said no. We do not give out locks. I do have a question about the security. I was told it was great security but twice I have gone to the storage unit and the entrance gate is wide open and then when I got to the door to enter my section of storage I didn't have to scan my card because the door was open both times. I didn't feel very secure. Uhaul was not helpful when I lost my lock keys and offered no help and offered no solution other than call a locksmith. Locksmith was gonna cost more than the 165 I paid a month. Luckily we found a way to cut it off. No thanks to uhaul. So instead of continuing with uhaul I emptied and left. Only positive thing was the refund. I rented the space in the morning and returned with a small utility trailer full of belongings. The outside doors to the indoor storage spaces were open and unlocked, not secure. The space I rented was not the size advertised. Supposed to be 5'x10' and was actually 3.5'x10' with a raised area across the 10' width of half of the total space of the floor looking like a bench, which greatly minimized the floor space. In addition, when we opened the door to the space, a large piece of ceiling sheetrock fell down from the ceiling, barely missing my head. Again, a large open space in the ceiling, not secure. Not acceptable. Also, there were steep stairs to the second floor, no elevator, which was very inconvenient. There were no other units available so we ended up taking our trailer full of stuff to Public Storage facility. Luckily we found a space at the last minute and we were able to move our load into that space that evening. The staff are all great and manager Cody is wonderful. He really helped me with an early appointment to have a hitch installed on my Highlander. And, I rented the storage, with the first month free. I appreciate everything they did to help and they were super busy but took the time to fully assist all their customers. Our area is under various levels of evacuation orders due to wildfires and we are all trying to safeguard at least some of our precious belongings. Cody and the staff are working extra hard to help people and I don't think that the condition of their storage adequately reflects their good works. The storage facility seems to be in poor condition and needs renovation including an elevator so that it meets ADA building standards for public access.Elizabeth E. | First Impressions

We had a 400 mile move to make, equipment was selected online with no problem, felt comfortable selecting insurance and roadside assistance a sit was very affordable. The equipment performed perfectly and was a good ride and fun to drive. The assistance at the distant end was amazing considering it was a Saturday and everyone was checking equipment in and out. I got a storage unit that was perfect for was we needed, however, the access is limited to daytime hours as the door was not set up for the card access. The facility is super clean and well maintained. Most of the staff are helpful and work so hard. The reason they wouldn't get 5 stars is because the reservation system is not functional. I reserved one large and one medium unit a month before or 1000 mile cross border move. When I called to verify a week before the move, they had no record of my reservation even though I had been given a number. So I reserved again and to my dismay we were contacted during the 40 hour trip to say thre was no large unit. Both times I was left to feel I had done something wrong, though I had talked to multiple people and left a credit card number. We had to reschedule our movers and fortunately we had been given extra days in Canada on our 26' truck. I'd like to commend the managers and staff at this U-Haul location for the way they've responded during this Covid-19 pandemic. They've been gentle and understanding to those of us that have lost our sources of income and are unable to pay our storage dues. I stayed in contact and gave them updates on my situation and each time my news was met with kindness. Staff was friendly and helpful. Negatives were I had several things stolen from my indoor unit. Several fishing poles and a clam gun. Total was about $600. A gap exists in adjacent units where the rollup door is at the front of the unit. The stolen items were all in reach to steal. Filing a complaint with corporate was denied.
