I have have been extremely dissatisfied with my experience with this move. Initially I reserved a storage unit at the Bellingham Washington site on Meridian. A couple days later I received a call from them informing me that the work in a first come first served basis for their units and would have to call them back start my rental agreement immediately to actually procure the unit. Unorthodox, but fine I can do that. I attempted to call them back at least 15 times over the coming days to procure the unit. Only they never answered my calls routing me through the national call system. These operators, while very nice and professional, were unable to help me and had not heard of such an arrangement. Needless to say my reservation was not honored and I was eventually forced to find another storage facility in the area.Israel E.

App based check in is kind of a pain in the ass, the platform is very slow and fairly cumbersome. Once I got it going though it was nice to skip the line and get the keys. The truck was as offered, it moved my things effectively and was well cleaned. Would love to have an option with a lift gate in the future.Andrew W.

Female assistant manager is very good. Evening return guy "Jake" is a superstar. Parking is very limited had to leave my car 1/2 mile away at Walmart. Not good! There is vacant land next door to your location someone at U Haul headquarters should look into leasing it!Lyndal M.
My only BIG complaint, and to me this is huge, is that there should be more than one person running the front register on a weekend. I waited in line for over 45 min....that is unacceptable, especially since I had done the pre-register/sign out, on line. The Uhaul site wasn't working at the store, so I couldn't even do the "speedy pick up"Heidi S.

After a nearby reservation for the previous day had been cancelled by U-Haul I was forced to cancel plans and search farther out for a truck the following day. I ended up renting a smaller truck farther away, costing me more, yet there were 2 26' trucks at the local dealer all day that were supposedly not available. The customer non-service representative that called to cancel my order was rude and absolutely no assistance and has no clue what the difference is between a 9' van and a real truck. Hire someone with some intelligence and get rid of the idiots you have making phone calls.Todd P.

I already commented on another survey but basically within a week I was given reservations for a truck and had it taken away three times. NO truck on the day of move and I would not have known unless I called and kept up on all of it. How is it you can give me reservations and then just delete them because you really don't have the truck you said I had??? This was horrible and is the second time in 5 years it has happen with Uhaul. The first time you cost me $1000 and I had to fight it with the better business bureau. I did get you to pay my extra costs so I thought I would give UHAUL another shot. NEVER again. Also, I was promised $50 for the extra costs of having a much smaller truck and was never given that money.Andrea S.

First, they said the fuel level was 7/8th and marked that on the paperwork, but when I got in it was actually much less. I was still required to fill it back to 7/8 anyway. Second, in the billing per mile when I got in the truck it said xxx94 miles. But I was later billed as if it had said xxx5x miles. So I was billed for over double the miles I actually used. I attempted to appeal this with Uhual but was denied without any given reason. I use Uhual all the time and have never had suck an issue before. Given the discrepancy in fuel and mileage it is very clear that someone used the truck between the last check in and when I got it. Either way, I was massively overbilled for what I actually used. I've rented your biggest truck and driven it all the way across the state and kept it a few days and was charged less than what I was just charged to rent your smallest truck for 12 hours and only driving it about 50 miles total. First poor Uhual experience I've ever had.Daven H.

Despite U haul trucks and website advertising a flat rate price per day, this location told me I had to return the truck by a specific time later the same day. When I returned it, I asked if they give a credit for only a partial day of use and they said no. So they are charging a full day rental rate to multiple people and renting the same trucks out multiple times per day. Additionally, the truck smelled strongly like a mixture of smoke and urine and bleach so I had to drive with both windows down. The back door of the truck would jam and require a lot of force in order to get the door closed. And finally, there is little to no parking at this location so they call you and tell you to get dropped off and warn you that your car will get towed if you leave it on their property. Real nice experience, overall. (Sarcasm. Absolute worst U haul center I have ever rented from).Emmett B.

Every thing was good at the location I picked up from. The staff were very helpful. The guy who hooked up my auto transport to the truck was extremely helpful and took his time explaining all the INS and outs of towing a car. Excellent exprienceMark K.
The gal we spoke with was very very rude at the get go. I made the reservation a month prior and all she would say is we are very lucky to have the truck and trailer we have. She also stated that she would not release vehicle if we did not return by 9am the following day due to "reservations:". I asked why did they tell me its ok to be late you're moving and you will be charged for the extra time. She then said well if you can't have them back by 9am she will not accept my reservation and then moved forward to tell me that if they were not back by 9 that we will Never be able to use U-Haul in the future. This gals attitude was beyond being very rude and very very unprofessional and then find out today after return this am on time "by 9" she double charged me!!! She is a very unprofessional person and rude to boot and inconsiderate of the consumers feelings during a high stressed time as it is, as well as made us feel like we were less important then any other customer and Had to bow down to her for allowing us to rent from U-Haul, Also the gas tank level she told us was very very inaccurate and we Paid over the rental to refill to "her" level. All in all Very Very Bad experience with the gal that helped us on 05/25/22.Matthew G.

The parking there is terrible. They parked a short van right in the turning spot to get out of the facility - then a car parked on the other side. I had to back up (blind) then go out the other direction.... thankfully no damage, but they need to enforce the no parking AND EVEN MORE IMPORTANTLY NOT PARK THEIR VEHICLES IN THOSE SPOTS.Aaron C.

I do appreciate that the truck I rented was situated so I could immediately pull out onto the road though, so the lot size WAS taken into account in a way. So that is a very good practiceRachel M.

We came to grab a trailer but we didn't have any of the wiring done. Olivia and Miles rocked!!! They both were so helpful and friendly. Miles showed us how to do the wiring and grounded it for us. Olivia helped put the trailer on, grabbed us tools, and found Miles to help us with the wiring. We couldn't have done it without them and we are so thankful they were there to help.Kaitlyn R.
truck needed windshield wipers after it was released to me. also, the dash lights did not work. auto transport has flat tire. when micheal came to repair equipment, he replaced 3 trailer tires and the fuse so i can have dash lights. i was rented faulty equipment which caused me much grief. i will not recommend uhaul. took me this long to relax so i can speak witghout angercharles N.

With regards to utilizing the storage here at UHaul Bellingham, I had a fantastic experience. It was my first time using a storage unit. From the first day, the person at the desk was kind enough to walk me to my unit. The staff was always so warm and helpful whenever I had questions about their services or hours. The prices were great, definitely the most affordable place around to get all your packing supplies. Though the location can sometimes bring unwanted guests, I never doubted the security of the storage facility. I also really appreciated that they offer an area to leave items you'd like to donate as your cleaning. Overall, the units were clean. I wish the storage units themselves had a light in them, but the hallway lighting was bright and sufficient to see inside the unit. Staff was great and location was great and easily accessible. I never once had a complaint with this facility or costs… everything was as good as I could reasonably expect. I hate having to pay money to store things but can't complain about this location, especially as my last storage experience resulted in the jerks selling my storage locker for Penny's of its value and then reporting me to collections simply because the lazy clerk typed a K in my email instead of J, resulting in my auto payment never going through and they never bothered to call me so I lost everything. When I initially rented the unit on June 18th the experience was good and when I went into pay my monthly bill it was ok as well. Then came the day we were moving out September 12th. My niece and great niece drove up from Puyallup to get all the the items in the storage unit#2527. They rented a moving truck from your facility. They drove it out to my place in Ferndale to pick up some items that I had to give them. It wasn't until we went back to your facility that we found out your elevator was not working. I'm 67 and a friend of mine, the same age as well as my to nieces were all the help we had. I went to the office and asked for help. The person behind the desk, I believe her name was Julz had no idea the elevator was broke down but there was another person a man, that said to Julz that it was broke the day before as well. Julz tried calling a supervisor and perhaps you as well. It was painfully obvious know one from your company deemed it important enough to react to her call. My wife also asked for help moving things and the man said they are not allowed to help move things. We struggled and got everything except 6 dining room chairs moved down the stairwell. Julz did the best she could but your team was completely overwhelmed. My Niece, Julie Casiano rented from you and I think you company owes her some money back as nothing about the elevator was mentioned upon renting the truck although in fairness, you crew likely didn't know we were moving things out from your facility that day. Tomorrow morning I'll be contacting your customer service dept and complain to them. It's really unfortunate this happened the way it did but point blank, it did happen and I think it needs to be addressed and corrected by either you or upper management. It's highly unlikely I will use your facility again and I'm hoping know one else has to be put through this. Parking and trying to get to storage was a challenge. We work during weekdays and only could come on Saturday or Sunday and could not back up to loading ramp. We even got stuck one time between others and trucks coming into lot. Can't the drive up entrance be on the other side near the street and storage on opposing side ? Just feedback here only. I had the unit for 8 years, every year the price went up! I would get threatening emails if I was a few days late! When I came to pick up my stuff, I had lost the key and needed them to remove the lock, I was told I would have to wait for at least an hour and a half before anyone could remove the lock. This was Sunday, at 10:30, the male that had been there before opening, went up to remove the lock, it took all of 5 minutes to complete the task! I was charged $50.00 to wait almost 2 hours and it could have been done at 9:00 am! I can not in good conscience recommend your facility or services to anyone!FRANCISCO M. | First Impressions

Dan Ackman was horribly unhelpful and made our moving experience extremely stressful. After scheduling months in advanced and being told multiple times we would be able to pack our ubox at the Bellingham facility we were told two days before that we were packing our box at Ferndale. We specifically chose to have a storage unit at Bellingham so that we could pack our box there directly from the unit. When we expressed our concerns to Dan he said that we would be able to pack there on Friday (7/16) as long as we were done by 5. He said he would bring the box himself at 8:00am and bring it to the Ferndale facility that night. We were extremely grateful as this saved us time and would make moving much easier. That morning we showed up and the box wasn't there and there was no sign of Dan. We talked to an employee who informed us that they didn't even know what time he was going to be there. Dan never showed an we were left scrambling for a way to pack our box. We called the Ferndale facility and they were not even aware that Dan had made arrangements to get our box for us. Dan had lied to our faces to get us to leave and left us with no way to get our box packed. Because of this experience I do not feel comfortable using u-haul ever again. The only good part of this entire experience was the lovely people at the Ferndale facility who helped us get everything in order when the Bellingham facility left us hanging.Jessica S. | Overall Experience

I met the general manager and he was great and can see why she is an extension of his leadership. She absolutely knows Uhaul, the services and navigation of the computer. Super skilled in time management, facilitation and captures her customers. My son and I were exhausted driving from WY to Bellingham WA, and she made the last stop very easy. 6th bad experience with uhaul.... I know a lot of people are moving.... but man at one location they did my wiring for my toe hitch wrong, another location the Employee would not wear a maskand wanted me to come in the store, at another location the employee wanted to talk to me about how stupid it is to ask COVID related questions. At this location, I had to call 4 times (the fourth time I was on the way to the storage unit) to confirm I had a storage, as the other three times, no one could find the reservation. The employees for the most part wore masks (at the bellingham store) but not always and did not when moving the truck I was about to get into (not happy with this). And I was supposed to have a free month storage, which I got, but I was only there like 2 or 3 weeks and when I left I asked them if there was anything that I need to do to close my account. they said no your good and then I got an email that said I was late on my payment. I called the UHAUL number and a customer service agent said that he would pass the message along to the manager and I would be contacted in 24 to 48 hours, which did not happen. I called a second time to make a complaint, at which point he responded .... But man it has been like pulling teeth working with Uhaul AND THEY DO NOT TAKE THE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS OF WEARING A MASK AT ALL TIMES AND KEEPING DISTANCE (especially AT THE EVERETT LOCATION.... the guy there walked straight up to me without a mask and took the keys from my hand. this is an insult to my safety and respect). I will let those know whom have to use you guys how difficult it has been to work with you and for the price I have paid, I would like to feel like I am being treated like a customer. I work in healthcare now and used to be in customer service and have not had good customer service with UHAUL in this past year.Chelsea B. | Overall Experience

I have had the storage unit since January 18th 2018 and just ended my rental storage August 31 2020. My stuff was never destroyed nor missing and I had nothing but complete trust about leaving my stuff in this storage location, especially since I have been living in another city about 4 hrs away during my entire rental agreement.Loved doing business with this uhaul location on Merdian Street in Bellingham Wash the owner Dan was great friendly profession quick, I was in and out in no time ready for a long drive home every thing is convenient and easy to use at this location from the drive way to the loading dock to the uhaul trucks I never realize I appreciate UHaul services as much as I did yesterday.Thanks!!!!AMBER B. | Overall Experience

The facility is amazing. It is the cleanest and most convenient we have found. Thank you! The only suggestion is that check-in took a very long time, even though we had filled out most of our information online.
