Your in line system was terrible, making a reservation was stressful and if the on line system can't guarantee the reservation then you should not have it, it was like pulling teeth trying to get confirmation until someone called from your company days later. I have used this location in the past. Perhaps it is due to COVID or just the staff that day. If I had never gone thru renting a truck before, I would have not made it thru the check in process. It is absurd that I have to use my cell phone to rent a vehicle, while standing at the counter. The van's cab was dirty with hair, fur, leaves, etc. and a sticker saying that there was a fee if it wasn't cleaned. Hell, I want a discount for putting up with it. The rear of the van had deep scratches, some rusting, and none documented, so I had to spend a bunch of time taking photos, just to have it lock up and say I've reached my limit on number of photos. How do I document the issues if I cannot upload the photos of them? It took 1.5 hours to rent a van. Train yard employees, when a customer is backing up to a trailer to be alert hands out of pockets giving hand signals as well as verbal directions. The employee in my case allowed me to back into the trailer damaged my vehicle.RICKEY C.
This was the worst experience I've ever had with any business, not just uhaul. I made the reservation for my wife to pick it up on Friday morning. She got there, they canceled my reservation and created a new one for her. But in the process gave her a smaller truck. Our movers loaded it up. By the time I flew to town and figured out what had happened, I had paid 1100 for the truck and 600 for mover only to be left with half a house worth of belongings that wouldn't fit. When I called and asked for help getting an additional truck paid for they laughed and offered me $50? Wow. Never again.SALEENA J.

Not the Beaverton store issue but reserved a 6 x 12 utility trailer and that was confirmed two days prior. 90 minutes prior to pick up I was contacted and was told the nearest 6 x12 was in Seaside nearly 100 miles away. This really screwed me over. If I would have known the day before, I could have made the run to the coast to pick up the correct trailer. Now need to make a second 1,000 mile run from Oregon to California. Thanks U-haul, never again.Drew D.

When I dropped off the trailer the guy with a beard (attendant checking me in) accused me of lying about my electrical cord. He said I have to check your order if I purchased it. I got the electrical cord at Beaverton Toyota. Thank God Ladd who rented me my trailer the day before, remembered it was mine. Ladd said your electrical cord is long enough. I was appalled that the guy with a beard and hat accused me of lying. Ladd told the guy it was mine and he brought it with him. Two weeks ago my husband, sister and myself came to U-Haul to help us move into our new apartment, however we made the mistake of not making a reservation for Saturday (the day we came in). We initially thought we were not going to be able to get a truck at all that day. Luckily for us we worked with Mr. Lee, who helped us. He looked into a few other locations for us, before noticing that there was a truck available (I believe the people with the reservation were late/not coming). Mr. Lee also helped us with dropping off the truck, which was tricky for us due to my sister's phone acting up. Overall despite our missteps and technical difficulties, we had a great experience with U-Haul!! Thanks to Mr.Lee who was so nice, funny and a joy to work with!ALLISON B.

We were rented a dolly that had a broken strap. When calling the place we picked it up from, not only was the guy rude - unprofessional - and disrespectful - he informed us that there was nothing they could do we had to call the 1-800 number, and hung up on us. After getting the run around, being hung up on 3 more time, the roadside assistance decided they couldn't help us either and gave us 40min to navigate through Portland traffic just to go to the place we originally picked up the dolly from - yes the same place that said there was nothing they could do for us and hung up on us. There is a hispanic guy (i believe his name is Sabino) working the yard that is absolutely worthless. Rude and lazy. As a business owner myself that is in the residential construction industry, this type of behavior is embarrasing and unacceptable. This was actually my 2nd interaction with this guy, the last time being when i rented a uhaul from the same location around a year ago. This was a saturday and the place was jammed packed, long line, hardly any trucks/trailers on the lot though. So the yard wasny extremely busy. I rented a 6x12 trailer. I pull up and Sabino tells me my hitch is to high. Thats it. Starts walking off. I ask if he has wrenches and points to their maintenance trailer. Nothing else said, no help, no telling me what options i have. No spring in his step. Just plain lazy and rude. If this was a jobsite he would of got checked straight up. I go, look for the wrenches inside their trailer (waiting for someone to ask me what the hell im doing in there). I get the closed end wrench and a pipe wrench and flip the ball around at my Jeep and wait. Dude looks over at me, we make eye contact, and then he looks at his phone and dissapears behind a truck. Now im pissed off..i lift the thing myself and connect it to the hitch (not an east job to do but my adrenaline helped out..) The assistant manager comes out after i was about to just leave and asked if ive been helped (cool guy, sweaty as all hell cuz hes taking the weight of the location on his shoulders..you can just tell). And he helps me get it safe for the road. I.e. chains twisted the right way..etc. Im not a guy that leaves reviews but this was straight BS. He needs to sit at home if this is his customer service skills. Let someone else that wants to work do the job. Theres a story about when i dropped it off with two other hispanic dudes but i think i showed up after closing so ill let that one slide..John T.
U-Haul did a mediocre job moving the rental process to an online experience. The website timed out during my check-in process. The specific vehicle I was supposed to take/find wasn't on the lot. In fact I went through 5 or 6 different vehicle numbers before I found one that was in the lot, and then it was blocked by another truck. The return process was frustrating because I carefully followed the instructions in the app/website, but the onsite guy barked at me for doing so. He basically told me I was doing it wrong, despite the clear instructions I received to the contrary. He didn't offer any assistance or guidance while I was trying to figure out what to do; he waited until after I had read the electronic instructions and followed them before barking at me. I was barely able to hold back a, "Fuck you" to the lot guy as I left the facility.Stephen H.

Upon dropping off van, we ensured we dropped off the same amount of gas as we received in Idaho. Unfortunately, we hadn't taken a picture of the gas gauge and got charged $45 additional for the 3 gallons gas and a service fee. We tried to go back to explain but the customer service person was not helpful and was rude. We called a manager who agreed to take the service fee off ($30). But now I just saw on our banking account that you charged us twice instead. And I have to go remedy that tomorrow. So extremely frustrating.Diana S.
Prior to arriving, we checked their online availability and it said there were several trucks vilavle. We arrived at the pickup location, and the person at the counter said there were none. We went back to the car and checked again because the entire lot was full of trucks, and sure enough, a truck was available. So I rented online, double checked the truck was there and went inside to pickup the keys as instructed. The two coworkers sat in their side office tapping the entire time about how they had Corona, and completely ignored us and the other family in line for a solid 10 minutes then decided to assist us. The guy got upset saying there's none available. We showed him our phone that said pickup keys and he said no initially. I told him I already paid and that the reservation says if my truck isn't here, you'll give me $50... which it did. Finally he's like oh wait guess it's available. Like WOW. Uhaul itself was filthy and the truck seemed to downshift on its own while we pressed the gas. Or it would jerk suddenly and randomly. Poor condition. Upon returning, we were walking between uhaul truck and our personal vehicle trying to figure out how to turn in the keys and one of the workers yelled at us for walking back up to the truck and said â€œwhat the f*** you doing stay away from thatâ€ without asking if there's anything we needed etc. and we were like â€œoh sorry this is our truck we are just trying to figure out what to do and how to turn in the keysâ€ and instead of being like â€œit's okayâ€, he yelled at us â€œI said f****** leave it right?!â€ CRAZY. Zero customer service and they don't give a tip about how they talk to people. Literally no kindness, compassion and definitely not helpful. In today's society.... maybe it's because we were Asian and they were racist. I'm leaning towards that since we didn't do anything to provoke these people.Edward D.
I don't appreciate your staff yelling at me. Other drivers not leaing keys in the proper place is neither my problem or fault. It's unacceptable in every way. None of the staff was pleasent to work with. The fuel guage was low by 1/8th of a tank(~5 gal). The lot is packed and poorly organized. The curbs are broken up and in dis-repair. Traffic was blocked by unattened trucks. Parking was insufficent and inaccessable. Trucks are turn around without using adjecent businesses parking lots because no proper method exists. I paid in advance with your Truck-Share 24/7 app. I get to my chosen location - your app told me to go to another location. What? No advance warning. I gave up on your Chat option after 7 minutes with no response. I call your 800 number. I'm on hold 30 minutes- at least! I drive 15 minutes to another location. Waited in line 20 minutes. I rented a truck from UHaul of Beaverton and 45 minutes after leaving the lot, my friend and I were broken down on the side of interstate 5 between Portland and Seattle with tractor trailers speeding by. The reason that we were broken down is because the vehicle that we were rented was MORE THAN 3 QUARTS LOW ON OIL! I was charged an after-hours service fee and a cleaning fee. I returned it 24 hours after picking it up (per my contract), and the truck was clean. I also didn't receive the $50 truck guarantee credit that was promised to me by the customer service rep who called me the night before my move. I was told the truck I reserved wasn't available and I would be given a $50 credit since I would need to drive in the opposite direction of my move. When I arrived to pick up my truck, signage was poor, the mobile app didn't work, it wasn't clear where I could park, and then I had to wait in a very long line (indoors during a pandemic) to get help. Receiving multiple unwarranted fees and not receive the credit I was promised was a very bad way to end this bad experience. Finally, after waiting on the phone for 20 minutes just to have my call dropped, I used the online contact form. Twice I typed all this up, just to have the form not work. They Need better training there . they need to check the cupholder inside .in the trucks never was it cleaned if the virus had been in there it would easily go to a customer and they could get sick . as the virus can go though eyes nose ears. and much more then they speak of . You used to have deodorizer beads you added to the trucks but I guess they got rid of those. cause I had to pick up a truck in the other location and that was the issue with the truck I drove. I rated average because I requested a 10x10x10 and the unit I was rented has a lower head clearance with roll up door cylinder just inside entrance. The unit is actually 10x9. I had 3 standard pallets to load in to be pickup later and can not be stacked to 6'4" ready to go in storage unit. I really liked that I could rent via mobile device and after hours, since the move was unplanned. However, I was supposed to receive the first month free with the rental of a vehicle. There was no way to apply the free month via online. There is no way to contact the storage office directly (I must call and wait on hold from 20 min to 1hr+) and have yet to receive assistance with this 3 weeks after the move-in. Also, the access wasn't clear, and we we're locked out of the facility after hours the first time we arrived (because 2 vehicles entered using our code, which "logged us out"). We had to call an after hours line, leave a message, and wait 30 min for someone to show up only to tell us that we could have walked outside the gate and enabled our code again. If there was a usable FAQ or chat feature, and if I could actually reach a human at the rental location, this would be much better.Ali A. | Online Move In

I dropped a rental truck at this location as well as renting a storage unit. The process with the storage unit went well and there were no issues. I however have an issue with the rental return. I picked up a 15 foot truck in Medford Oregon on Saturday June 27th. When I picked up the truck it was very low on gas and I asked the attendance what is the process for fueling. I was told to return the truck with the same amount of gas as when I picked it up. I returned the truck with the exact amount of gas to the Beaverton location but then last night got a bill for $54 in fuel charges. I called the store and was told they will look into it. I am not sure why I was charged for fuel when I returned it exactly the same amount of fuel as I picked it up with. I think this is taking advantage of customers and a sneaky way to get some additional money from the customer. I will certainly dispute this charge if a credit is not give to my account. The staff were very loud so it was hard to hear to process my reservation. Besides that, my reservation was lost and had to be created which took much longer than expected. The paperwork there is duplicative and wasteful. Why can't the storage contract be emailed? Why did I have to fill out my insurance information twice? other than very long wait times in office lines to pick up the truck/van and arrange for storage, getting from california to oregon with a 15' foot, returning it, and then putting stuff in storage was a breeze. next day, picked up a 10' van to transport from storage into a condo.
