The male employee on staff at 6:15 PM 12 16 2021 did not want to give his name or try to resolve or understand the conflict in his processing of the rental truck return. He did not check the truck back in on the date and time it was returned. He tried to commit fraud. He fraudulently withheld the owed money due to the customer. He converted the money for personal use. There was at least $20 dollar owed back to the customer.Kelvin A.

The "inside counter" person could have been nicer to me as a customer that was not familiar with the location. How did I know where to park the truck?! Especially since the location is in a premium downtown area with limited space, and I saw no sign outside indicating where to return trucks. The outside person that checked the truck was more customer friendly. He thoroughly checked that truck, though, to ensure no damage! But all was well. Loved the location! Very clean, professionally inviting environment. Would definitely select this site again because of its location, services and the supplies available. Looked full-service.MARGOT H.

When I picked up the truck and got it to the location I was going to load,I found half a sandwich and a half a bag of chips. The sandwich was starting to spoil. I rented a trailer. I was contacted two days prior to the pick up date and told the equipment would not be available at the 12:30 PM time included in the original reservation. I was told that the trailer was scheduled to be returned at 1:15 PM and I could pick it up at 1:30 PM. At 1:20, I attempted to call the location to find out if the trailer had been returned. The location had their phones "on forward", so my call was routed to Customer Service. They said their system showed the trailer had not yet been returned. They recommended I call back later. I called back later. The location had their phones "on forward". I explained the situation to the Customer Service agent. They said a different department could tell me if the equipment had been returned. They transferred the call. After being on hold for some time, someone answered and said their system showed it had not been returned. I appealed to them to contact the staff at the location to see if they had heard from the renter about an estimated delivery time. They were able to get someone from staff at the location to join the call. They said the trailer was there. So, after losing a half an hour, I went to the location to get the trailer. The staff handled the initial sign-in and hook-up fairly quickly. The pictures of the trailer were not current. I had to update. The staff did not check if the trailer lights were functioning. The trailer was fairly clean. The trailer had good tires. The door functioned but was sometimes difficult to raise (needed to be cleaned and lubricated). Lights and wiring were good. The trailer tracked well.Gary B.

I had to mop the truck before using it as there was a sticky (soda?) film on the floor. Even though I was making a $2,600 rental, I was not dealt with any differently than the other person who was being helped at the same time making a $150 rental. I was not instructed about the truck operation at all. It was as if I was just renting the truck for a day....not a 2,000 mile journey. I don't expect special treatment, I just expect the team to be able to differentiate between the types of rentals and what the customers needs may be.Peter F.

too many units for only one elevator, and this location is adding more units. madness. dirty. elevator floor has not been mopped ever as far as i can tell. bathrooms have been dirty and unmaintained for a long time. and now they are all locked except at the office. no stairwell to the ground level except the fire escape. how is that even legal. i found that out when the elevator was out one day. staff was not friendly or helpful during a period of time locker alarms were messed up and constantly going off. made using my locker impossible to use. i feel i should receive compensation for how nasty this place has gotten since i first rented my unit. will not be recommending.RONALD B. | Overall Experience

I don't know what has happened to the customer service uhaul downtown stl had but I will never go here again the service I received was deplorable the first time I was treated badly I'm like give them a second chance well they FAILED gave me a truck that put my life in jeopardy I called the roadside assistance waited over 4 hrs in a very cold truck for help to no avail after being told help was 15-minute away still no one showed from 1:42pm -9:46pm the help arrived ðŸ˜¢ I don't know where the communication broke down at 6:15pm I was told my request was canceled????? We rented a 10x20 only to find that it is 2 separate units sold as 1, and then when we went to look at the units after completing paperwork both still had locks from other renters on them. We were then given other units (after more time to do paperwork) and then when we opened the units they both have huge 3 ft diameter concrete support poles in the middle of the units. This is a very old manufacturing building repurposed for storage. It dirty and difficult to get in and out of wirhbonlu one elevator. Not one I would recommend.Christian L. | First Impressions

The rental smelled like pot, we gased the vehicle and was charged. We were charged an after hours fee after a vehicle wasn't even available for our time slot and not our fault we had to bring it back beyond a time with technicians. When someone has a cargo van on order make sure you have it available when it is reserved for . Went to pick up the van that I had a reservation on and no van was available. The check in process was handled professionally. I did not get the10ft truck i reserved far in advance and instead ended up with a 15ft with 86K miles on it. My gas bill ended up being $450.00 with the larger truck. I felt like they forced the truck that they wanted to get ride of. I was told that if I wanted a 10ft truck I would have to go to another location. I saw 10ft trucks at this location.BRUCE C.
The online reservation experience was easy. But the in-store location was exceptionally great because of Keith's calm, cool demeanor, which was incredibly soothing. I rarely give feedback on these things and only doing so now b/c of how impressed I was with him. His vibe was so pleasant that he helped ease my stress. The only feedback I would give is that I noticed the pictures of the cargo van I rented that I had to sign off on for receipt of the vehicle were when the van was brand new and didn't reflect the state of the van at the time I took possession.CORY S.
Why offer a pick up location if you are just going to switch it? I planned the move around picking up a truck that would be just down the street. But the night before I check my uhaul account and its been moved to downtown?! With zero notification. Don't offer a pick up location if you are just going to change it!James W.
