This experience was a very stressful experience because of the process being all online. My check in did not go through, I had to call the manager of this location to give me the key, and then later I could not check out because there was no direction on how to do so. When I called to try and tell someone I dropped off the keys in the box, I was on hold for 30 minutes and then was told I never got the uhual when I clearly did because the manager handed me the keys herself and then was charged the full amount after all of that. Too many issues to list here. Major issue was that they didn't honor the first month free storage even though I had a one way truck rental. They also assigned us to a unit that was locked and we had to drive all the way back to ask them to unlock it for us. The key was not where it said it was , I called the 24/7 phone and I waited for 2 hours and 30 min and couldn't get into the truck ! I got charged and had to wait until next day to rent another â€¦ I was using self pick up at 9 pm and instructions said password was POLL and the lock in the back of the truck opened but the key wasn't there â€¦Sergio G.
The staff was excellent, but there not being any staff at the actual storage facility was very inconvenient. The online self-move in was not working at all and kept directing me to the McClintok office. We had movers waiting for an extra half-hour for this reason.Emily G. | First Impressions

They had me pay for 24 hr access I never got them I got some kind of a move out notice in and envelope and a file. No name no date. Then I was locked out if my storage for a week and I could access the gate but not my unit. Jeffery Pickett Andy Smith and Jennifertge admin assist had a moving company come move me they left without me so I have no idea if they took anything I don't know where they disappeared. Then threw my things in piles left things in the elevator all the way downstairs and outside of the elevator so people could not pass by. When I saw my Mohammad Aly picture with a big foot print in it I asked them to be more careful. They sent and left after I have them a tip 40 and left me hanging. No 40 dollars. To top it off one of the uhaul employees called the Scottsdale police to my new storage. WHO DO THE PEOPLE THINK THEY ARE? I HAVE PICTURES THAT LITERALLY THREW EVERYTHING INTO MY STORAGE BREAKING 1000 worth of my equipment so now I can not do any jobs because everything I own is ruined!!!! Donivan was Excellent He bent over backwards to fix this HUGH Fiasco. My U-Haul storage reservation was confirmed 3 times last week before I droved to 1905 E Apache Blvd, Tempe, AZ .The Movers & I get to the correct place 9am.only to find out They have NO STORAGE units. I had to drive to another Uhaul 800 N McClintock dr, & drive to another 500 N Scottsdale FINALY by1pm Donivan find me a unit to unload the Uhaul truck. I Had My Movers for 2 Hrs at 9am NOT 6 hours. I have had issues with my storage since February 21 . First my auto pay stopped without notice and I was charged a late fee as I was unaware it was stopped ! Then I was supposed to be moved to a diff unit with first month free per Cody - but was billed for it anyway and got another late fee ! There is a complaint open with a callback from Donovan 2 weeks ago to rectify my issues ! Nothing - called again after on 7/6 my account was debited without authorization ! I was one of the 60 tenants that had one of their units broken into and all of my stuff was taken and I was not notified until weeks later. And your so-called insurance that you have is refusing to pay me anything because they were all vintage tools that I don't have receipts for. This place is so unprofessional it's mind boggling. the only reason why I didn't move out sooner was because of the pandemic. I have had so many issues with this property I can't even explain them all and I will tell everyone I know to NEVER do business with Uhaul. Reaching the property manager by phone was always a challenge. The local number always rang into the central call center and they always took a message that was never returned. Emails had to be sent 2-3 times before receiving a response, or a return email wasn't sent. The property office was permanently closed which made it inconvenient to have to go to a second location to speak with staff. The on site restroom wasn't clean. I moved out of the unit on 3/21/21, in response to management informing tenants that we had to vacate by 3/22/21, due to facility renovation. I emailed Donovan Holloway on 3/21/21, attaching 2 pictures showing that unit 446 was vacated that day and requesting information about a credit for 10 unused days of rent for March. That same email was forwarded to Donovan on 3/23/21. No response was received. On 3/27/21 Donovan sent a generic email noting a storage move out date of 3/26/21, and requesting completion of a survey. I expect an email response noting a credit amount and when it will be issued.NANETTE W. | Overall Experience

We were given a 3 week notice that we needed to leave b/c you are tearing the location down. I double checked the hours of operation with the person who emailed us to let us know the location was closing because we were driving down from Flagstaff, and arrived on Sunday to find that our code didn't work and no one in the office. Fortunately, a worker at another location pulled up behind us, and his card wouldn't allow him access either and he had to go back to his office to gain access and told us he would get us access. He came back 20 min later, but that code wouldn't work either. He spent another 5 min on the phone and finally got access, and we could clean out our unit. My experience was great up until I terminated the contract and was then badgered for more than a year about continuing to pay for it. I explained the situation on multiple occasions to multiple personnel from UHaul but no one paid any attention and the harassment continued. We moved from California. Our things were in storage longer than planned but when we first arrived Donovian (hope I spelled that correctly) help us the entire way. His service was above and beyond from helping us load and making sure our storage was locked correctly. Other staff members at this location were also extremely helpful. The staff were great. The unit as fine. However, the computer system was bad and caused many issues. When we arrived knowing we had a guaranteed spot we found out that the unit the system reserved did not exist at this location and that the facility was very full with very limited options. The system had also reserved us 2 non-existent RV parking spots when what we needed was a small unit for residential furniture. The staff worked hard and found us the last unit available which was 10x10. We were just happy to have somewhere to unload the furniture from the UHaul, Not having an onsite person was inconvenient with all the issues. Also, the card access was not working 4 hours after I checked in and was assigned the unit. This caused another scramble to get in to unload. I've never rented a storage that I had to exit my car to go to the wall and swipe my card then run back and hope to get my car through the gate before it closes like I did here. The first half of the month the gate was broken and the lady who manages the site is rude af every time I encountered her. Very mean òld lady. She would give customers grief that she had to work the gate and told us that we had less than 1hr to get everything into storage at 8pm because she didn't want to wait on us. The office is not located on site so if I needed assistance I'd have to drive to the office and back to the the storage site. It's definitely not somewhere I'd rent from again. I do like that my stuff wasn't in the sun melting and had air. It is not kept cool enough to keep from sweating but it's cooler than outside. I had a terrible experience with customer service at a location in Tempe on north Scottsdale road. They had me fill out my paper work and sent me to their storage location and failed to tel me that their gate system had not been working. When I went back to the office after trying to cal several times and them not answering, they said I had gone to the wrong location which was not the location that they had on their map.
