Not U-Haul's fault but the location is near a homeless camp. It was a little unsettling when my wife and daughter had to wait to pick me up there at night while I was delayed filling my friend's truck with gas. Our trailer had a very strong kerosene or diesel smell. I rented the trailer to move some furniture. We tried but it was impossible to exchange a trailer in the Puget Sound area. They suggested we drive back 130 miles for an exchange.LEO L.

This was such a strange experience today. The CSR threatened to call the police if I tried to access my storage unit even though it was in my husband's name, but he did not do anything to deter multiple vagrants from entering, roaming, and loitering in the storage areas. I know that people are in need and that Yakima is doing what it can to support people experiencing homelessness nearby, and that's so important. But it's also important for U-Haul to provide security where it is reasonable expected. I delayed emptying my storage unit by two hours as a result of the unusual circumstances until my husband could come to join me, and I won't be returning to use this location as a result of the lack of security in the building. I also encountered well-used drug paraphernalia in the restroom, and I have a photo of it to share if necessary. I'm not sure how often the restrooms are actually cleaned/patrolled. Hopefully U-Haul will be able to improve the customer experience at this location.Patrick M.

The customer service was horrible. They changed dates, times, AND pick up locations on me three different times. Additionally, I arrive on thanksgiving day and they tell me the only trailer they have available is dented and being repaired. It would be good for you to put a sign in front of the store for no parking as it blocks associates view if return lane.. I had to go in for the agent to see that we were waiting in the return/check-in space. More signage or direction from associates to know how and where rental needed to be returned would also be good. We were disappointed to receive wooden crates rather than the metal storage/shipping containers. One of the crates was falling apart when we received it and we had to maneuver the door to even latche it. First off we reserved a trailer on Oct 18 online to be picked up on Oct 28th. The reservation said someone would contact us by the 19th. We never received a call. When we called to confirm we had a trailer on Oct 26 we were told there was no trailer available. We were also told that you only call 48 hours prior to pick up which is completely bogus. I had him read the reservation to admit he was talking out of his a**. The U-Hail on Nob Hill in Yakima, WA requires a mask to enter, but NONE of the employees wore masks. We took pictures of the mileage and fuel gage before leaving and adjusted the mileage on the link that was provided before we left the business. When we returned the truck the employee said we were to be charged for 21 miles when, in fact, it was 20 as I showed him. He also questioned the amount of gas I put in the vehicle despite showing him the gas gage was fuller when I returned it than when I picked it up. He ended up charging us for 21 miles and was generally a jerk the whole time. I can't think of a more unprofessionally run business than U-Haul. I hope we don't have to rent a truck or trailer anytime soon. It's a very frustration experience.CURTISS DAVID C.

on my second day of driving the 17' truck, I encountered rain during dark hours. When I turned the wipers on, one of the blades was shredded on the end and both blades were rotten and cracked. This causes a very dangerous condition where I had to drive while looking at the rear view mirrors to make sure I was still in my lane until I could get off the freeway and onto the shoulder. This was a most dangerous condition caused by negligence and laziness. When I picked the car hauler trailer up, the lights did not work. I finally found a blown fuse in the engine compartment and replaced it. The fuse blew again while driving somewhere between Idaho and Nevada. The Nevada State Police informed me of such.David W.

Linsey was excellent, thorough, professional & friendly. When we were there to rent our unit she was the only employee present. She handled at least a dozen other customers. Including an upset customer, checking out & receiving rentals. I was there 90 minutes after I paid for the unit before she could show me the unit.
