We had multiple problems with our rental. First I reserved the rental 3 weeks in advance to get the largest truck. We showed up and they did not have the truck available and could only offer a 10 foot truck. After the employee talked to a manager, we were able to get a truck that was â€œin the shopâ€. Pickup took nearly an hour and we were the only ones in the store, as they had to clean the truck and find us a dolly. Clearly the leak was not fixed as we have rust and fluid stains on our driveways from something continuing to leak.NATHANIEL F.

I WAS TRIPLE CHARGED FOR OVERNIGHT UHAUL. I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD LOOK INTO IT. NO RETURN CALL OR MONEYPAULA C.
1st was told we had a storage unit waiting for us, same size as our truck, but when we arrived it was gone, and we had to get smaller same price, I explained there is no way this truck would fit in that storage unit, so we were given another of the same free 1 month then was paying over 440.00 per month when it should've only been 220. For 1 storage unit, very un proffesiinal didn't know what was what, had no idea on cubic foot,measure, that would be something your employee are encouraged to know up front or taught,because they don't seem to know and actually act like spoiled kids if you tell them different and walk away from you when your right. And they have nothing to say, but can't make any big decisions, so im assuming only management can't make. We paid out rent 1st of month but wasn't due till the 6th, we moved 2 units out on on or before the 4th, so we go our money back,then we weren't able to get other room moved out till 7th of that month we were told "WE DONT PRO RATE" funny but uhaul, makes it very comfortable for them we won't get the other half, and I didn't see it on either Bill so they stole 220.00 or if they prorated for the day after rent was due.. and I paid on the 1st of the month I should've gotten maybe 200.00 almost back for that 2 units we had 4 units but 2 our considered one together. So were still owed 200.00 at least. But won't see it supposedly till next month,but if you don't pay your rent they lock you stuff that day.. and charge you exstra.. nice company! The man who did my registration on the phone helped me reserve a unit. When I got there they did not have an outside unit available. The man at the site was very helpful and was able to work with the staff to locate a unit for me. He was helpful, courteous and went thru everything with me. The app did not work to rent the truck...once I got through the process someone actually drove off with the truck the app told me was mine. Upon return I got stuck in a loop on the app and it would not accept the picture of mileage and gas. Had to go inside the location both times......unacceptable.Ed S.
First the person there did did know what to do we had to go get cash because the credit cards thing was down then as soon I was walk in it was up we only was gone for 5 minute. I had to come back to get the storage unit because they said that he didn't know what they was doing. They messed up and over book so I couldn't get the storage inside. I was charged $20 dollars for gas. 4gallons at $5.00 per gallon. I know this wasn't needed because I just stopped on my way to return the truck and put $18.00 in it. This brought the gas gauge above its original mark. I only put 50 miles on the truck.JASON J.

Uhaul has always accommodated my every need. There is a representative named Keyonna , this lady went above and beyond to make my transition into the storage unit, quick fast and easy. This lady was professional, eager to help me,, she answered all my questions, was very nice, and she made me feel like my needs were important to her as well. Keyonna is a breath of fresh air. When I left the Uhaul facility, I said to myself WOW, that was easy, thanks to Keyonna. Thank you Uhaul, & thank you Keyonna. I would like for someone to recognize this young lady for her excellent service & demeanor. One of the local staff at Boston MA was rude. She called me one time at about 11am on 9/21 telling me that I need to give her some information about the U-Box parking permit at my gated neighborhood. This was fine. But she called back 2 hours later at about 1pm aggressively asking for the same information. Her attitude was like I owe her this information. And she repeatedly interrupted me when I was telling her I was having lunch and need time to call the apartment manager. She wasn't listening when I was trying to explain my situation and she was satisfied when she finally learned that I need time to make a call. I understand that this information is important for the U-Box delivery and I wanted to know the same. I don't want my apartment manager to tow the U-Box. I also want to have the delivery arriving safely. But I need time to make the call and wait for the response. She just can't treat me like I'm her employee and I owe her her happiness. There was another nice local staff but the one who called me twice at about 11am and 1pm on 9/21 was rude.siqi H.

I am so very angry with my experience with Uhaul as it pertains to the storage. When I first got to the location on Sunday I was turned away even though I had a reservation for a storage unit. I did appreciate Candy she was helpful on Monday but I most certainly didn't appreciate being ignored by the manager either. wellI didn't elect to have auto pay, but when I got my contract it said I was enrolled. I didn't give permission for that. Another thing I didn't like was the size is over-estimated as for square footage and apt or home comparison with two-three bedroom sizes etc. I also didn't get the free month everyone got that the site was advertising for. Hi the only thing that I would like to mention is this has been the second time we have rented something within the past year everything went all right on renting it but the only thing that I have to say is the place need some cleaning out front especially like when you pull up to drop off your return rental and just going in I mean the parking lot has trash and just stuff that really could be picked up but hasn't that is my only thing just going into the place it looks like can they take a dustpanin room and pick it up I mean it's like really bad that's the only thing I have to say it's like there was like a part of a van that was missing in the parking lot just a small no it's pretty big piece but I mean just like paper cigarette butts just all kinds of crap like going up into the store in the parking lot like when you're walking up to itDAVID L.

When I arrived at my pick up time, there was no truck for me. I had called earlier to see if I could pick up my truck later and I was told if I was late that they would give my reservation away to somebody else. When I informed them what I was told the guy behind the counter said with an attitude, nobody would say that. They told me to come back later but I had taken an Uber there and it had an appointment an hour after my scheduled pick up time. If the person on the phone give me the correct information and I came later, none of this would've happened. I ended up having a panic attack in the store because of how horribly the situation was being handled. They gave me a $50 guarantee which in my opinion doesn't even come close to covering the unnecessary emotional distress I went through because of things they did wrong. The truck that was supposed to be returned also was scheduled to be returned a half hour before I was scheduled to pick it up. I'm going to guess you probably shouldn't book a reservation that close together. I have rented from U-Haul and multiple occasions, I've never had such a horrible awful experience with this company before. I honestly don't ever want to use U-Haul again because of this. Just awful. Moving is stressful enough, then I had to deal with all this. Not to mention the following morning I was doing a follow up call just to make sure I got my $50 guarantee, because I was confused about it, and the lady on the phone was super rude to me telling me I don't need to reiterate everything she has it all written down. I'm sorry ma'am, I don't work for U-Haul and don't know that information. And to top it all off the guy at this location booked me a return location when I told him what my ZIP Code was and he booked me one far away and then I had to change it and that was all a disaster alsoAngela S.

Do not hire "children" with attitudes toward customers. Went to pick up the vehicle and it would not start no matter what I tried. I asked a sales associate to assist. He had difficultly at first then had to press hard on the brake pedal and wiggle key. He said he would show me how he did it for $10.00 and wanted me to take this truck that had difficulty starting. I said no and he and another associate were very nasty and refused to assist saying all trucks were rented. I asked about the one in the lot and they said it was already reserved for someone after me and they were very unprofessional. Another associate came over and said the truck that was in the lot the customer was not sure if they were going to reschedule at which time she called him & they in fact were. She was kind enough to sign me up for that truck with accommodations since it was larger than I needed. The previous other two employees just thought it was best to argue with a customer and give attitude. How sad......The associate that helped me needs to be recognized and the other two disciplined.Scott C.
Improvements would be better communication with the customer concerning shipping and the logistics of their Ubox. I had to call multiple times to the Cleveland location to check on the shipping of my Ubox, and for about a week nobody knew when my Ubox was going to ship. The communication was poor between the trucking company which is a third party source Uhaul uses. The communication between me and uhaul was also poor due their lack of calling me back with information. Moving is a stressful time, and the Uhaul of Cleveland location added to my stress. I gave the location an average rating because the lack of communication. The good thing about the location was the drop off of my Ubox to my house and the pickup from my house. The two ladies that were in charge of Ubox delivery did an excellent job and were on time and extremely efficient.Sean P.

Well the gas level was lower than my paperwork and I made a comment to the text link when I got the truck. Also the Dolly in the back of the truck wasn't secure with the wing nut or the green tamper tie then they changed me $21 after I put that in the text. Also I called and spoke to Nate from the Parma Brookpark Rd location and informed him of these issues. He stated his manager will be right back and compensate me for these items. Allow your customers to make changes to the drop off location after the fact if it's within a 50 mile radius of the original planned drop of location. Plans and timing change especially during a move and and the lack of willingness to accommodate such a simple request because of a contract without charging me double the price is just piss poor customer service. This was thru the 1-800 number by the way not the actual location. Some people can't afford a moving company so we rely on U-Haul. You should really review this and set yourselves apart from the rest of the options out there.Chad B.

I was overcharged for a trailer, even though I turned it in a day early and an employee helped me park it. I was also overcharged for the truck. The front of the store had overflowing trash. When I called the store directly, I couldn't get ahold of anyone and that was really frustrating. So I had to call the main number and was on hold for over 30 minutes.Megan N.

Uhaul and this location discriminate against Ohio laws of Ohio residents having to get a paper license until the hard copy is received in the mail. You are denied a rental even though it's now a state wide policy with the DMV that issues your drivers license. Customer service has no interest in looking into tweaking this policy to accommodate their customers and I will never be a customer again would not recommend to anyone.ROBERT C.
I had a good Ubox experience. They were clear communication and I received emails every step of the way as my boxes moved from location to location. It should be made more apparent that you need to purchase your OWN locks for the boxes, this is not provided by Uhaul. Items did arrive a bit dusty so wrap appropriately.Sachin K.

My appt was for 10, but the guy I dealt with first pretty much said I have bad news your truck isn't here yet but the people that didn't bring it back will get a late charge but then instead of trying to find me a truck said call uhaul and see if they can locate one for you....so I had to call and then I guess the people took back to the wrong location so the manager went and picked it up and brought it back to the right location so we were able to get it but it was 45 mins late....very poor customer service!!JOSEPH S.
First of all the truck was not there. Waited an hour. Worst service I've ever had with uhaul. When I finally got a truck it was all banged up and on empty. The brake light was on and the brakes didn't want to stop properly. I will never be sent to that location again. I rented a 20 from Strongsville and got sent to Parma with a 26. I am clueless to what was the problem and I didn't appreciate any of it.Melinda A.

While the facility itself is great, it's pretty crazy the polices UHaul corporate has in place. I reserved a unit and thought that meant I'd be charged and start paying on that date. In fact found out that my unit was given away. This was not listed anywhere visible or clearly noted. On top of that, the month of included storage was taken away because of a policy change, and the website did not reflect any actual units available. Pretty abysmal experience from U-Haul corporate. Half the reason I chose to use U-Haul was because of the month of storage included with truck rental. First I reserved my unit online and I saw a coupon for a free month so I applied it and it told me it was applied and I didn't have to pay till July 22 but when I got there I had to pay and while paying when I didn't think I had to I asked about a lock being in there or if I had to provide it they said it was in the unit when in fact it was not so I called up to the desk and they told me I had to come grab it from them I didn't have to pay for it but all the employees that were there saw that I was in a immobilizing boot and everyone was worried about going in the back and they all wanted to go. It was just unprofessional and after having to pay and not having the lock they could of at least ran the lock to my unit but what ever was in the back was more important cause when I did in fact go back to get the lock none of the employees I saw at first was there it was another guy.VALERIE M. | First Impressions

what we were told for storage what we got was not any where near a 20 foot truck a young girl gave 2 small storage units. Which where not even close I went in and order 2 more same size as the others and this gentlemen gave them to us for a month free, so 8 think out of all good, but you need to know you stuff about.. cubits, and measurements.. or else.. the girl couldn't even figure out where the storage units were located she had to ask someone else.. so that perturbed me a little.. Tre experience was good. One comment I have that when I was renting the truck the U-Haul app led me to believe that I was getting a first month free on my storage room. Helpful and friendly staff, good location. Definitely recommended. Some suggestions. I would like for the sliding door be open outside office hours, because the side door that remains open till 10 PM is very small and it's tough to bring things in through there. Only moved out because we found a much cheaper place near where we store our travel trailer. Our room's locking mechanism jammed easily. But we will visit to buy propane, though the transaction would be easier if you could call the office directly and meet the associate at the pump (where they collect payment anyway) rather than park, mask, and walk through the store. I originally had a 5x10x7 unit for $79 a month reserved, I was afraid my stuff would not fit so I asked to upgraded to a 5x15x6 for $139 a month. The unit I was given was 5x10x6, so basically the same as my first reservation. All my my stuff ended up fitting anyway. I need to price changed to $79 a month because I would have just stayed with my original until because they're the same size. The manager said he would fix it but the cost is still showing up as the larger unit on my account. I tried calling 3 times today, I was on hold for 25 minutes and then the call dropped. I wanted to be placed in a storage unit outside so that I could drive up and unload. They kept placing me inside in a temperature controlled unit. After 3 attempts, they finally understood what I wanted. They wouldn't show me where my unit was at, and they didn't explain how the security card works. I had to ask them. When uhaul on Lorain didn't have storage like promised I had to go to this one, prices for same facility were $40 higher, and they tried to make me buy there lock, they only allow a certain kind you can use, I already had that one so didn't have to purchase there's but what a scam don't tell you any of this before so you can decide... I moved from Pittsburgh to Cleveland and the employees I interacted with went above and beyond any expectations I could of imagined I spoke to candy, And Chrissy, By phone who went out of their way to find out the answers to my questions and were so helpful, and there was a gentleman I can't remember his name unfortunately but he helped me to get into my storage unit and was very helpful with showing me how to navigate my way around.
