The online app is a little hard to use and also failed during upload. It also did not find the location when trying to check the van back in so we had to come back an hour later to check in in person. Other than issues with the app we had a good experience.Kevin D.

Charged 20.00 for an after hours fee. My rental was returned at 7 a.m. just as stated on my contract. This location does not open until 9 a.m. on Sundays, the day i returned my rental. Will never rent from ANY u-haul location again. I tried calling the rental location and the automated system told me my wait time to speak to a human would be 19 minutes. U-haul is a rip off.Steve B.

I was not able to use the app to check in my vehicle at 11 p.m. I also sat on hold with customer service for almost 30 minutes until I finally hung up the phone. I am very disappointed in the app and the customer service support team. Other than that the location and the staff U-Haul in Des Moines Iowa we're very respectable thank you.Teresa S.

I was quoted online a certain price & also signed a contract for a certain price. However, the bill was higher than what I was quoted & signed for. Please advise.Joseph G.
Did not have 20 ft truck we reserved, previous customer was late on return. Location only had 15 ft left. Would recommend you reach out to customer if reserved equip is not back 1 hr prior to reserved time, that way we could have checked to find different location availability. Also did not have hand truck and gave us appliance dolly in its place, ended up hand carrying all boxes up 3 flights of stairs. Please consult with customers, appliance carts do not work pulling boxes up stairs.LISA H.
Despite filling up the gas tank to the appropriate level and being under miles, the guy who checked it in still charged me $9 bucks for gas. He refused to take it off--he read the mark on the contract differently and the highlighted gas range from the pickup location. I know absolutely that they aren't going to go put more gas in it--since they don't give you a truck with a full tank. So he ripped me off of $9. My suggestion: send the trucks full and require them to be filled on return, like all the rental cars I use during the year (which I use weekly for work, so I know how this works). In the meantime, I'm adding my 1-star review on Google to this location's already low Google review rating (wish I had looked at those ahead) and added a Swarm tip. I'll move on to Yelp next.JOSEPH N.

I had a reservation on Friday night. The person that hooked up the trailer was not in a good mood and broke my trailer plug and then told me that he wouldn't fix it, when it was perfectly working when I arrived. This was a borrowed vehicle now that I am responsible to fix. I am forced now to find another vehicle that causes me to much later getting the vehicle moved and all the help at both ends will be gone because it is 2 hours later getting things hooked up.CLIFFORD D.

When someone reserves a dolly and packing blankets days in advance, they should get said dolly and blankets. Also when dropping of the Uhaul after hours, they should inform customers that there is a $20 "convenience" fee.KEVIN M.

While everything looked swept out, it was obvious none wiped down the inside of the cab. With Covid that was rather disappointing. The online check in system apparently crashed when trying to check in. I never entered or got to view the mileage online to verify before taking the truck. The appliance dolly wasn't in the vehicle. Had I not checked, I would have ended up at the first location without one. The truck was also backed up into a dirt pile/brush so I had to pull it out before I could even open the gate to check to make sure I had the dolly in there. *While it was a pain to pick it up, it was easy to drop it off & the older guy working there was helpful.Elizabeth C.

Inside of truck was clean, outside dirty. Key not in lock box. Had to aske them inside to find the key. Put me behind in checkJon G.
24/7 pickup was a little confusing. Drop off was no problem. The truck interior had som spills on the seat and door. Don't know what it was. Steering wheel was sticky. But, it's a rental truck. It hauled what I needed hauled.David C.

Everything was great. Kip(?) I think his name wasâ€" was very accommodating even though there was a glitch in the system and my reservation never went through and the vehicle I selected wasn't available. He made sure to work hard to get me one on instant notice. Very friendly, efficient customer service and he also explained everything well in detail regarding the check in and out process, making sure I knew how the truck worked. Give him a raise please. While the overall experience went well, there were a few hiccups with picking up our rental truck using the smartphone interface. The procedure did not go as I was informed it would go. It took twice as long to pick up the truck than I was told it would.Jordan P.

The location only seem to have one staff person when I showed up, they were helping other customers but saw on the video camera when I walked in that I had brought in a trailer. The staff member was able to nicely multi task, ask me if I was dropping off and gave me some options as he was tied up. I used the Uhaul\share to do the drop off. While that makes things easy the past couple of times I have had issues trying to log into it from my phone. I eventually got it. I like this location, close enough to Drake U and usually has inventory.PAUL W.

This was not my usual experience here. The guy hooked me up to a trailer nad the driverside lights wouldn't work. After checking it he decided to swap me to a different trailer. The manager said he wanted to hook me back up again and try to fix it. He discovered there were several things wrong so we unhooked AGAIN and hooked me up to a different trailer and I was off. It took me more that half an hour to get out of there. NOT GOOD.CHARLES B.
