Long waits 2 times, bad, unfriendly service, truck full of dents & motor light on, given incorrect info about refuelling & overcharged (corrected with credit). Just awful. Uhaul Springfield on Boston road has old dented trucks as well but friendly, fast & helpful staff. Much better.Alexander C.
The service at the location was slow but fine, but overall my experience with UHaul was as terrible as it typically is. I couldn't figure out where I was going to be picking up my truck until the day before and called to verify at that location. I had also requested a 9am pick up because I had movers arriving at noon and other items to get from a storage unit, but they wouldn't give me a truck until 1pm. Then Uhaul failed to tell me the location had been changed until I showed up to pick up my truck where I learned that I had to go to a location 45 minutes away - so once again I had to delay the arrival of my movers. It was a very stressful, confusing, and hectic experience, but things like this always happen when I use Uhaul, so I was at least expecting terrible service from corporate.Jade L.
MAJOR issue with the van I rented. The van stalled as I was driving on the highway! I could not accelerate and the gas gage dropped to empty. I was in the center lane, but managed to coast over the shoulder before the vehicle stopped rolling. I could have been stuck in the middle of a very busy highway and could have been hit. Thankfully I was able to start it back up again and it seemed fine after that. I drove in the right lane the rest of the trip in case it happened again. THIS VEHICLE SHOULD NOT BE ON THE ROAD. This location was great. UHaul's corporate website, however, is terrible. I was trying to rent a truck and trailer in the Brattleboro, VT area, and it was telling me that both were available at several local locations. When I followed up with those locations, they told me that they have NEVER rented trucks or trailers. When I called a main UHaul phone number, I could only get information about rentals in that state. I live at the border of Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts, but had to call all three states to try to find the rental I was looking for. The New Hampshire UHaul reserved a truck and trailer for me that was located over two hours from where I live in Vermont. They told me this in a text, despite the fact that I said I wanted to be contacted by phone because of this very concern of mine. And so while I rate the Northampton, MA UHaul highly, I think your website and phone reservation systems need a lot of work.Kevin K.

I was very happy with the van, it worked very well for the move I was involved in. Jeremy, the young man who checked me in and whim I reported to at drop off, was polite, informative. I'm sure you already know this, Jeremy sure could use more staff. He's was working the counter, the phone , getting vehicles , and in the garage. He multi-tasked well and stayed calm. Too much interaction amongst employees about things that had nothing to do with U-Hail business. Other than that things were well handled. However, the associate told me I was going to get an email receipt. I did not receive a receipt. I would have called to inquire about what happened to my electronic receipt. But it is such a pain in the ass to call. Because no one answers the phone. I get a message that my business is important but, it will be over an hour of wait time to speak to a person. You have to do something about the customer service aspect of U-Haul. I will rent again but I will not call on the phone. It is quicker to get in my car to drive over to the U-Haul location. It took awhile to find the person manning the office. He was helpful with the in-processing but when we arrived at our loading location we found the pads we requested were not in the truck and had to go back to the office to get them.Derk W.

Unfriendly employee rented the truck to me. A day later the same employee checked the truck over and on the final bill I was charged a fuel charge (2 gallons, $10.62). I put in $10.81. I drove the truck 27.70 miles. I paid over $21 in gas for 27 miles! I resent that kind of dishonesty from a large company that i have turned to so many times over the last 30 years. Really, you need to be dishonest about $10?! Your gas gauge is imprecise. Your employees should be trained to not take advantage of your customers in this way!Christopher M.

How can I trust this company when they couldn't even clean the car at the bare minimum (the van was filthy) to trust that they checked any safety features, such as tire pressure or other necessities. They didn't bother to warn me the passenger door was broken (it had the most minute x on it), so when we opened the door it crushed the panel every time it was opened. They don't even come out to review the vehicle with you. Your app did not work for me to report any problems and I was given no alternative options on how to report that I was picking up a filthy car. So there you go. UHaul I'm a nutshell.Pamela F.

Complete lack of customer service, not a drop in sight. Reservation was confirmed for a 8am pick up with truck share program. Arrived at 8am sharp only to find out the truck was never prepped for an early pick up. Forced to wait for the store to open at 9am. When the employees arrived, I stood at the front door waiting to be acknowledged at which point they each walked by me and refused to make eye contact. When the door was finally unlocked and I explained the situation, the response was â€œyeah no one knows what's going on around here, I'm not surprisedâ€. I needed the rental and was already running late, I just held my tongue. The truck did the job. Overall terrible experience and will never recommend this outlet to anyone.Nathan B.

i drove the van 27.5 miles and returned it after putting 5gals.. of gas into it. which put it up over the 5/8 tank i got it with. then i got my receipt and was charged an additional $35.75 or 6 more gals. of gas. if that thing used 11 gallons of gas in 27.5 miles i would assume there is something wrong with your van. i use uhaul a few times and would hope that i can rely on you in the future, but now i have to go out of my way to make sure i'm not getting ripped off.joel S.

We returned the equipment on a busy day and there was a backup in trucks. There was a long line in the lane labeled "returns." When I parked behind the other returns in the return line, a U-Haul employee asked me to move to the other lane labeled "trucks". After I parked the equipment in the other lane, the worker yelled at me to stop at the stop sign next time. Although I saw the stop sign, I noticed that all the other U-Haul trucks had stopped where I stopped, so I did not move forward. When I tried to explain myself, the worker responded aggressively and condescendingly. Additionally, because of where I parked the equipment (per the worker's request), my partner (he followed in a separate car) and I could not exit the U-Haul center in the appropriate location (there was no way to drive through). We had to exit through the entrance. After I returned the rental, I left feeling upset and disrespected. I understand that it was a busy day, but I did not need to be spoken to aggressively for returning my equipment. It made me not want to come back to this location to rent a U-Haul again.ELENI K.

When picking up I was told a hold would be put on my card for the anticipated charges, the ultimate charge was twice that amount. When I attempted to reach my local branch to understand the charges I spent an hour plus on hold and being rerouted to a call center. I'll avoid renting uhaul as much as I can.Andrea P.

Unfortunately, our most recent experience did not begin very well (unlike most of our other experiences). We booked a vehicle to pick up on Sunday at 7am. We did not arrive until 8am and discovered that the reservation becomes inaccessible if you are more than 15 minutes late. In the original reservation process, done on a PC, we were informed "you will need a digital device such as a phone to retrieve your vehicle when you arrive." When we got there, we had no clue to how to retrieve the vehicle with our phone - there were no instructions posted anywhere. After calling U-Haul, we got a message saying to call back during "business hours". At this point we started to panic. Right then, a U-Haul employee showed up at the location. My wife approached him and asked for help (this was approximately 8:25am). He continued walking past my wife and said over his shoulder, "I dont open until 9!" And with that, he walked into the ofiice, closed and locked the door behind him. We called a number we finally found on the rental agreement and the gentleman on the phone was VERY professional and VERY helpful. He explained that he could "reset" the reservation, but that we couldn't access the vehicle or the lockbox with the key for a other 30 minutes (at 9am)! Unfortunately, I lost my temper and used some colorful language but the rep on the phone remained calm, professional and helpful. The rep explained that we should have downloaded the U-Haul app to our phone in order to facilitate the pickup. NOWHERE was this mentioned previously. It would have been good if that was in the rental contract - or better yet - posted on a sign at the pickup location! After downloading the app, and re-entering all the information we'd entered previously on the website (such as photos of my driver's license), we were FINALLY able to access the lockbox, getbthe key and be on our way. For future customers, please provide clearer instructions for off-hour pickups during the reservation process such as the need to download the app ahead of time. Additionally, posting a sign at the pickup location with the app information would also be helpful.Daniel W.
