The White gentleman was somewhat rude, asking me to repark in a crowded lot and then return the truck via the website (which did not work, as the Uhaul website would not transmit GPS location in two different browsers). Then the Indian gentleman saved the day by saying â€œjust leave the keys in the door, I will send you the receipt â€œJohann I.

Have to give special kudos for excellent service I received from Mr. Santos Mendoza who took my reservation at this Mtn. View, CA 94040 location. He went over and beyond with assistance with truck return. Whoever is reading this survey should note to management for this particular location, Mr. Santos Mendoza is definitely a KEEPER! I hope you are able to share this survey with him since he is the BEST! Mr. Mendoza was very efficient and customer service oriented! U-Haul in general is terrible. My truck wasn't marked as returned until over a week later even after taking with an employee about the issue at this location and calling U-Haul about the problem with using the check in tool. A representative named Lisa flat out lied to me about my reservation and caused significant problems. The cost is too high. Overall a terrible experience.KATHRYN N.

With only 3 people ahead of me, I had to wait longer than 30 minutes to pick up my van. Upon return, I was instructed to use the app for a self return. Never imagined they would only have a couple of people working. It was stressful for customers and staff alike.Thomas B.

My inputs and photos from the check in app were somehow not received by the staff when I returned the vehicle, and during the return the self-check-in grossly miscalculated the gas level. Luckily the staff adjusted the checkin and corrected all but $4.50 of the errorGeoff W.

this location i try to avoid. never enough people to assist customers. always long wait times. unclear directions for returns. sign says to wait to be helped next to vehicle. after 20mins of no help , i finally tried to return by phone app and was successful. why not have a sign for that- if possible, check out by phone app? avoid this location if possibleBARRY K.

Van and windshield was extremely dirty. I would also recommend a clear sign that states online check-in only as I had to ask everyone in line if they had done the online check-in and 2 other had and waited in the line for 20 minutes. I was able to move to the front thanks to the other women being told she didn't not have to wait so she told me. No signage to indicate online check-in here.Rebecca M.
The vehicle was clean but mechanically it was terrible. The truck would shake vigorously at around 50mph. It was a terrible experience. I could not go back to the location since I was already running late.Armaghan O.
The hand cart was broken. The attendant was rude and sarcastic. His supposedly â€œjokesâ€ were wasting a lot of time with customers. The line was really long and the other guy didn't even bother to help. Horrible place. I don't think he even refunded my money from the broken handcart. I will make sure he does though.DARLENE M.

I was having trouble on there app. checking in the truck. I asked for help and didn't get the help I needed. So the employee told me they would charge me $20 if they do it for administrative fees. I told him that is crazy. I told him other places I go to have someone does the check in return.JESUS P.

Add staff on weekends as lines got Long. I did the rental and return on a weekend during office hours using the mobile app to avoid the line. However during the return, it was not clear about where to return the key. There was 1 staff member at rental return who was busy and the mobile app had not clear instructions on return of the key. I had to track down a staff member for instructions and had to walk around the lot to find one.Dhiraj B.

The front desk person was not friendly or helpful. He told us to use the mobile phone app to check in our truck. We told him we didn't have a smart phone. He told us to find Frank the person outside who was checking in the trucks. We couldn't find Frank. We were there for 45 minutes trying to get help checking in the truck. Finally we found Frank and he told us to leave the keys in the truck and he'd check it in when he got a chance. We did later receive a receipt and it was properly checked in. The front desk person was just so unfriendly and unhelpful repeatedly to us. Please guide him on how to be helpful and please establish a streamlined option for how people without smart phones can return their moving trucks with ease.Beth D.

It was very unclear where to return the truck. An employee shouted at us to "Go to the U-haul website to do the drop off online. Follow the sign instructions!" and then pointed at a sign that was not very clearly posted, on how to do the return. I think that U-Haul should just hire a real human being to do the return checks and not make the customer check the mileage, gasoline levels, etc. This was on a Sunday afternoon around 3 pm at a location that was open 7 days per week.LISA M.

Computers were down for over an hour and rentals / returns could not be processed. The employee on the shift was very clear that when the closing time came he was not interested in accommodating the rentals past that time. He was making no real effort to keep trying and was almost happy about it. Fortunately another employee helping out (maybe not even on the clock?) offered to keep trying and after multiple tries was eventually able to get my rental completed just minutes before closing. Not the most friendly staff. I forgot my cell phone when I returned the truck and when I explained to the agent he said in an unpleasent manner to just go home and the charges will be sent in an email. He wasn't busy with other customers so why can't he look up the account and close it out?JOHN G.
