After confirming our pickup and drop off location one month in advance, we were told 5 days before our move that we might need to drive up to 200 miles to pick up our truck and we would be charged much more than we were originally told. Since we confirmed our reservation a month in advance and we were only moving 50 miles away, this was unacceptable, but it was fixed (our pick-up/drop-off location was changed from redwood city to mountain view). Upon pick up, the women in the store was incredibly rude. She talked over us, completely ignored questions, did not clarify what she was saying and had a terrible attitude (at one point, when we asked for clarification on the price she said "That's what I just said"). I've worked in customer service and I'm honestly appalled at our experience. Lastly, the furniture pads had a lot of dust, grass and debris which was frustrating because it flew everywhere. Additionally, when we reserved via phone we were originally going to be charged $10 for the 2 dozen pads, but ultimately we were charged $20 and its not clear why. We tried to ask, but of course she completely ignored the question. We've used uhaul in the past and we'd like to use it again in the future, but this experience was awful. Please communicate with the staff at that location that their behavior was completely unacceptable. I'm honestly horrified that an employee that behaves that way is still there. (We visited the store on November 28th, 2020 at 8am)

The staff was very unfriendly and not helpful. This is the fourth time in the last month I have rented and each from different locations. This location was clean, organized with good equipment but the employees were all not pleasant to talk to and were not helpful.

Have the gas tank filled in order to make the refilling easier for the customer. Not having a full tank of gas makes the refilling to the exact level a problem and is poor customer service.

The staff is so rude, condescending, and un responsive, it is incredible. For every customer you MAY get, I guarantee you there are three who are turned away and will never come back. Think about the revenue you are NOT making because of poor customer service. Nice business plan.

In-person experience was miserable, especially the return. Not pleased with how unprofessional and uncoordinated the staff were. Check-out is also far too slow. I had a charge added to my order that wasn't there before! Buyer beware!

Staff is rude, truck I reserved originally I was told I had to go 3+ hours away to get it, I offered to do a round trip and was told I had to pay for miles, the entire thing was ridiculous. I ended up trying to do an intown rental and scrambling and was basically made to feel like I was incompetent for waiting until the last minute when my original reservation was made well in advance.

I found it really hard to believe that the specific trailer I was looking for wasn't available on the day of my rental. I wanted an enclosed trailer but had to get an open one because you guys didn't have any in my entire area! Get more equipment is my suggestion. I should've gotten a discount because ya'll didn't have what I was looking for!

I could not check in by my phone -- I was disappointed in that. Please check it more thoroughly. Frank is very good. The 10' GM truck: was very difficult to wiggle the steering wheel so that I could start the ignition. Overall, I thought the quality was embarrassing for an American brand. Not too hard to drive. The trucks could smell better -- always smell like someone smoking flavored cigarettes drove it before me. Need more room between the truck return and the next building.

My experience with Uhaul was entirely positive. The workers there were efficient, professional and knowledgeable. Check out of the trailer was smooth and quick. Was a few hours late to return the trailer but there was an employee there to assist me after hours(thanks Frank). I WILL definitely be back for my moving needs and will highly recommend U haul to my friends and relatives.

On initial inspection the cab looked to be clean, but during the course of the trip I found an old mask, hairband and garbage that was not ours. During a pandemic it's concerning that the cab was not cleaned better.

Gas is not full filled when I get the truck. And only one associate is there when I return the truck. The check in process is unclear to me. Should I check in all in the app, or should I go to the counter? And the staff there told me no onsite parking, actually there are much space there, but I am not allowed to park there

I was charged for fuel even thought I returned it at the same level. I had to call UHaul to contest this charge and even had to send a photo I took at the end of the rental to verify the fuel level. I am lucky I took that photo before exiting the truck.

First I had a truck reserved that the site could not honor. they told me I may have to drive for a truck but that a truck was guaranteed. this did not happen. when I changed my move out of the apt a day early to get a last minute truck for 12 hours, I had to argue my way to get a truck because the guy on site also told me 'I may not be able to honor that reservation". upon returning the truck, (driving 10 mi total and adding gas (2.5 gallons) back to where it was when I rented it, I was told that I did not fill it back up to where it needed to be and that I would need to pay additionally. I even showed the receipt and confirmed with her my total mileage was only 10 miles, but she would not budge. honestly it was uHaul that made this entire moving experience TERRIBLE, and the least you could do is show some good customer service to make up for it. I will do everything in my power not to use uhaul again.

The women that helped us at the counter was not interested in assisting us at all. We were having issues with the online pick-up and she provided very little help. Additionally, when doing the online pick-up it was very difficult to provide multiple contacts for you to reach out to since we had two names on the reservation and we could not provide ourselves as a contact.

I got a flat tire on the trailer that rented and it took three hours to get someone to repair it. The tire started smoking and then blew up which caused me to swerve. Luckily nothing happened. I was not happy that the tire put me in quite a predicament sitting on the freeway. I receive no compensation for the incident they could've got me killed.

The online/app process wasn't smooth for pickup. It requested a bunch of additional info and pictures that could have been requested when ordering the truck and done ahead of time.

Rude, masks not on properly, dirty and unkempt employees. Not allowed to park on the premises while I was using the rental. I will never use u haul in this location again and will give a bad referral going forward.

Customer service from your call center was a complete mess. My reservation was canceled and rebooked 8 times. I almost had to drive two hrs away to get a truck. Get it together uhaul you just lost another customer.

The customer service, lady was a ride and with an attitude. All you need is to slow down and actually say hi and feel the people welcome. Relax. Take it easy. The trucks on the outside dirty. You guys gotta step it up with rare cámaras and other sensors. 2020 trucks are now available. This is some old old trucks that you are even scareto drive them safely

Difficult to get covered trailer for one way trip. Open trailer worked out well although had to have extra suppport vehicles to substitute for lack of covered space. Mountain View location has good personnel who are efficient and helpful

I rarely complain about service. Especially these days. But in two separate rentals this month I was disturbed by the customer service. Same individuals. In particular the guy outside selling Propane to whom I returned the truck. From the first instant I encountered him his demeanor appeared hostile and as if I was bugging him. The tailgate had come unhinged and I was unable to reattach it alone. Immediately he said "Well it looks like you damaged it." When I protested he literally waved me away and said to save it for his boss in the morning. This was about as abysmal an experience you can ask for simply renting a truck.

I initially reserved a truck from Penske, but later cancelled, as U-Haul fees turned out to be almost 3 times (!) lower. Service at the counter was transparent, quick, no hidden fees, return of the equipment was quick as well. I am not a U-Haul fan, as I constantly rented from Penske, but my latest experience made me think again. Thank you

I will never rent from uhaul again! When I booked my rental online I was ready to go. Then customer service called me to cancel my booking to a location that was 1hr 30min away from me. Then 30min later I called to have them send me my booking confirmation, for them to tell me that my booking was not available no more at that location. So they sent me to another location 1hr away. Woke up the next day and was heading to the location that they had confirmed that my rental was ready. I got a call at 12:08pm when my booking was at 1pm, telling me that my rental was not going to be available for pick up. So they changed my location AGAIN! I was on my way already I had to make turn back to another location. Super unsatisfied, unprofessional. If you guys are going to change a booking you have to do it ahead of time!!! Not a couple of minutes before I check in!!!

I had reserved a truck and car trailer from this location for an out of state move, over a month in advance. Mountain View location refused to honor the reservation, one day before the move date!! they said it was only a "preferred location", not an actual reservation. Even though I could see the exact truck type I reserved on their lot. They left me no choice but to delay my move by 1 day, and rent a round trip truck. Then the charged me for the miles both ways. I would never have agreed to this had they told me ahead of time. It was an unscrupulous and deceptive scam. And the people at this location wouldn't even offer an explanation, other than "trucks were in demand". I would stay away from these greedy businesspeople.

when I finished renting the car, the fuel level is much more than I start use,, but this U-haul doesn't give me fuel credit back, this is extremely dirty and criminal policy to custom
