I reserved a truck for pickup at 10:00am, and I did the advance check in, but when I arrived I had to wait in line for 30 minutes with folks who didn't have a reservation. I separate desk for express check in would be helpful. Otherwise, they were great.

Dealing with the general manager at this Havertown location was dreadful. I had purchased a hitch in the past at a different location and it was a pleasant experience. U-Haul no longer performs hitch installs at he previously used location so I tried this Havertown PA location. I called U-Haul and made a reservation for 10:00am on 06/10/19. I received an email on 05/29/19 notifying me of an appointment time change from 10:00am to 1:00pm. Unfortunately, because I had scheduled appointments around the initial install appointment, I needed the 1:00pm corrected to the original time. I called U-Haul AGAIN and the time was corrected back to 10:00am. I received no other communication from U-Haul between 05/29/19 and the date of install 06/10/19. On 06/10/19 I arrived at my previously arranged 10:00am appointment time. The general manager rudely and aggressively told me that the install was at 1:00pm and that I was wrong and to come back. When I asked how long does the install take she said "I don't know! I'm not an install specialist!" I told her I had received an email notification from U-Haul and I had had it corrected. She said no I hadn't. I told her I called this exact location to have it corrected. She said I had not called and I was wrong again. I told her I spoke with a female and she said she was the only female there and she would never schedule it. I was then told to drive into Philadelphia to all of your other locations to see if they could help me. I guess picking-up the telephone herself was not an option she was willing to perform. This was an overly aggressive response and there are many other ways to deal with this situation. She was not capable of coming up with anything productive. Upon leaving the facility at 10:00am I called U-Haul corporate office and filed a complaint #: 2251548. Because I had a prepaid biking excursion set for 4 days following this incident and would be working those next 4 days, I was forced to return at 1:00pm. My options at that time were between paying for Ubers to get to the previously arranged appointments or paying the appointment cancellation fees. I chose the Uber, because there was no way I was spending the next several hours, or however long it would take, with that horrible woman. I have requested copies of all recorded telephone calls and am currently waiting for them. In the interim the manager responded to the complaint with a lie and closed the complaint. She said I thought my appointment was at 11:00am but was wrong and I had been notified. She made it up to shut down the complaint. She's hoping you'll believe it and so far it has worked by allowing her to shut down the complaint. I have asked for it to be reopened until the recorded calls have been reviewed. I am hoping this review helps to change the management directly or at the very least the management style of this facility. Upon picking up my vehicle I asked to be discounted to reimburse the incurred expens

When i called to make a booking for a 15/17 foot truck, i was not able to. I was bumped to a 20 foot and nothing was ever mentioned about the truck being returned at 6pm when we picked it up at 12. Then we were told at pick up, but my partner picked it up and just thought I had agreed on that. Which I had not. Then when I called your location I was on hold for 25 min. I then called corporate and had to explain this. We were given till 7:30am on one of the three calls, I made to uhal havertown. But we had to work though the night to do thi, when this was ment to be 24hour rental as I was never told no different. And then To make matters worse at 4:30pm on the day of renting the truck, we were charged an other rental fee. We rent from Uhal, corporate and civilian and the is by far the worst rental experience I have had with Uhal Havertown.

Deliver on what is requested. I was to be able to pick up a truck off hours @ 7am. when at the pickup location, my reservation was not available until the store opened @ 9am. With the counter service person struggling to get through the customers in front of me, I didn't get my truck until approx. 9:30. Didn't get back to my home for my move until 9:45. This squandered the majority of the time purchased for my hired movers. I had to call in family to perform my move. My uncles are too old for this shit! Your location stole my time on moving day. I am extremely pissed off!

Confirmation of Dolly being in the truck was not met, then had to wait literally 15 minutes before one was located. Mileage when picking up vehicle was incorrect. Then incorrect mileage was checked on return and Manager didn't agree with me. Sorry, it was a terrible experience and don't want to risk using that location again.

Overall this was a very poor experience, and I will not be using Uhaul again. I called to change my reservation to switch it from a local to another state drop off and was disconnected as she was switching it over. I called back twice and was told that I was all set and I could do it when I got there. When I got to the location i was told that wasn't possible and I had to return it to the same location. With all the extra miles I ended up having to spend about double what I should have. This place is a scam and I will be telling all my family/friends about my experience.

I was charged for an extra day for bringing it back after the store was closed when there was no one there to rent it out. I had to drive far to pick up this vehicle as one was not available where I requested. There was not enough staff so I had to wait to walk around the truck to put damage stickers on.

I say not applicable because U haul representatives say one thing on the when you make your reservation but another thing happens when you go to pickup/return. example. ( 1 way trip) I was asked for my pickup/destination locations, based upon that, i was charged, only to my surprised, when i got there to pickup the amount was increased by 5 dollars plus. i did not hesitate and paid, dropping off was the same thing, extra 11 dollars was charged. I believe the reason Uhual is doing such is because they already have your card information and you will have no option, which is VERY bad. I did not enjoy the service because what i was been told from the beginning was quite different in the end. Please do your calculations well especially for a one way trip, some customer may have the exact amount on their card and would be embarrassed by all the other charges that may follow

The crew was terrific helpful and immediately assisted me both hooking and unhooking the trailer I rented. One of the smaller MC trailers I really needed was not roadworthy and had stripped ball mount improperly operated tongue and cut wires

Can't make a left turn at the light, which means the only entry is to go past the light, and turn left into the parking lot. Started to do that, and noticed that the entrance to the lot was completely blocked by a U-Haul van. Good thing I noticed before I turned, or I would have been blocked and a dead duck to oncoming traffic. Incredibly stupid. And dangerous. Not to mention that I then had to go way past the place before I was able to turn around., Then the sign said to go to U-Haul.com, but every time I entered my information, it just took me back to the same screen. So finally I decided to call the 800 number, and sat on hold for a long time. Eventually, I just dropped the keys in the slot and left--the way we used to do it many years ago.

Very impressed with the floating manager. On a busy Friday morning he was really hustling to take care of everyone and had a great attitude. I arrived early, well before 7AM and you could see that customers' who had dropped off left vehicles everywhere. He had things in shape quickly and was up and running literally on time. Like wise on Sunday dropping off early another associate before they were open took the time to happily answer a question and even offered to park the trailer for me if I wanted him to!

Took a while to get a truck. They had a constant computer problem. Wasn’t anything to do with the two staff members who were helping people. Line was long and they were just under staffed. The truck itself had a dirty floor and the front cloth seats had fibers and hair of some sort all over them.

I had reserved a dozen blankets as I was picking up some new furniture that I wanted to protect. They were not in the van and when I went back to the counter, the line was 3 people deep with only one customer service rep taking customers. Luckily, I went around back and the gentleman there was able to provide me with 3 blankets. If you provide a customer with options during an online reservation, ensure that the product is there or proactively alert the customer and take the charge off.

I was pleased that there is always a truck available when I need it, even last minute. The only complaint I have is how long it takes to check out when renting a truck. We were in line for an hour before we were waited on. I tried to do online check it, but myself and other customers were having issues with it, so it would not allow us to connect to a certain screen to complete it. So, if they had even one more person to help at the desk, that would be great! Other than that, I like uhaul and have been using this location for years!!

I made a 2:30 appointment to have a hitch installed. I arrived on time and was told my appointment was for 3:15. No one called me to inform me that the appointment was changed. I left my vehicle just the same being assured that the service would be 30 minutes. I called at 4:15 to check on my vehicle and was told it would be done at 6:45. I arrived at 6:45 to pick up my vehicle and was told it would be 20 more minutes. It took until 7:55 for the installer to finally say he was as done as he could be. He told us that there was a fuse missing so our running lights wouldn't work. When asked to show us which one, he couldn't. So now I need to engage another mechanic to complete the job. No one tool responsibility or ownership of the lack of communication or service. Based on their service, I'm canceling my truck for my move on Thursday. Your competition will get my business. It's truly a shame that your employees are not taking care of your customers. There were alot of excuses and no customer care or respect. Clearly there are no company values that I can see. Who's minding the shop?

Generally speaking I'd rate this facility better than any other u-haul location that I rented from. The parking lot is pretty tight, but everything else was good, particularly the workers; they knew their business. I started to use the smart phone app to close my contract and an employee offered to take over for me and had me out the facility in 5 minutes. I'd do this again in a heart beat!

My husband picked up the van. I guess no one pointed out the back rear window was broken. So when my husband went to put gas in the van before returning it, he was shocked to see damage. When he took the van back, someone was there cleaning vans and showed him that you all knew the light was broken before he got it.

First time I went to rent the truck and trailer the lights did not work and no other equipment was available. So I had to return the following morning and rented. When I went to pick up my car ,I put it on the trailer and one of the tires was flat, so I had to remove the car go get air and reload the car. This all could have been avoided if the equipment was properly checked !

Everything went super smoothly and simply. Only issue was they never gave me the dolly I reserved ahead with the truck, but I myself forget this as well so I don’t hold it against the employees. Ended up having a super easy time without it anyway. Overall good experience. Driving the truck was fun also!

After 3.5 hours the hitch i purchased from Uhaul and paid to have installed was not able to be installed by the Uhaul employee workman and i was told to go elsewhere. Worst experience ever.

We switched site pickup, the original reservation was not suitable for our needs. Needed a larger truck, tried to change the reservation on the computer and 800 number, did not work. The Havertown store was most helpful in changing our original reservation.

The online check In process was a very bad experience. I have used the online process at least 4 times prior to today. In Dec 2018 I rented a 26 foot truck from Ga to Pa using the on line process and that was seemless. The experience today was long and not very efficient. The chat person Deanndra was very unhelpful and her answers that finally came though the chat service seemed terse. The gentleman in the store were courteous and helpful.

Antiquated pricing system - Get rid of the hidden fees and just be honest with the rate. Certain mileage should be baked in and then tiered after that (e.g. $10 between x and x miles). The advertised $20 for the day end up being $90 for 4 hours and 40 miles. Yes, I did the mileage estimator on your site before getting the vehicle; I was still shocked at the final price. Add a follow-up email after the pick-up flow that contains the photos asked for taken on your site. I could not find the mileage or tank from when I dropped it off. In hindsight I should have just taken it on my phone camera as well so that I could access, but assumed if you were asking for them then they would be available to me. This follow-up message should also contain instructions on how to re-fuel: where it is for the model rented (I was with someone else when I pulled up to the pump and could not find it) along with the gas required (diesel, regular/89). I was happy with the ease of the mobile pick-up process but not with the rest of the flow, including drop-off. Uhaul will not be a service that I use for future rental truck needs.

No parking for customers. I had to drive back home and get someone to come back with me to the location. There was maybe 5 or 6 parking but they were all taken and the lady rep told me to park on the streets. Really!!! and get a ticket? It really delayed my move.
