Our experience was over and above what we expected. I realize it was very early (7 am) but, the only suggestion I have is that the person at the desk speaks more clearly and loudly ?? My husband and I both couldn't understand most of what he was saying. Other than that he was friendly and I was VERY pleased that the truck was all ready to go when we arrived at 6:55. We are very pleased with her experience at U-Haul. This was the third time we had needed to rent a truck in the past few years. I was able to call early on a Saturday morning to reserve a box truck for that same day. We found the truck was clean and very well-maintained. It worked out perfectly for our moving needs. I rented a 15 ft. Box hauler to move a piano. I drive a total of 25 miles round trip, and it took over 8 gallons to fill the tank back up, which I assumed was full when I drove it out of the lot. I didn't think to check the gauge, since the tank should have been filled by the last renter. When I returned after having just filled up I asked how many mpg's the truck normally gets, they said about 10. When I told them that I got about 3 mpg if it took 8 gallons to fill it back up, they asked if I had taken a picture of the gas gauge before I drive it. I didn't think of it as I was needing to meet the people helping me move the piano. Since I hadn't taken a picture of the gauge, there was nothing they could do to credit me for any of it. They also acted like they couldn't figure out mpg's and said how I drove it can affect that. I never drive over 50 mph the entire time and mostly on city streets. I also only had the truck for two hours when I could have had it the entire day, which means they could have even rented it again. If you rent a truck, make sure the gas gauge is past â€œFullâ€ when you leave the rental place, and take a picture of it with your phone.MARCIA L.

The trailer which I rented had a damaged ball receiver and did not tighten to my ball hitch. Since U-Haul personnel attached the trailer to my hitch, I did not think to check and only later discovered the damaged trailer when it appeared loose on my hitch and it could not be tightened. I reported the problem to the drop-off location.Brian S.

I was late on the dropoff. I dropped off at 9:45. Was supposed to be 9 but when I got my receipt it said 12:30. Just think everything should be a little more accurate but good experience.Chris K.

I returned the rental with the same amount of gas that was in it when I picked it up. I was charged a lot for not returning it with the same amount, even though I did. The amount they claim was in the truck at pickup was incorrect.KYLE W.
They informed me I wouldn't pay for additional gas after using the truck for exactly 18 miles. I asked them prior to returning if I'd be charged a percent of the $5.50/gallon fee and they said I wouldn't. (I returned the truck with the gas meter closer to 1/2 tank than the 1/4 tank, which was pretty much the same at the beginning of the rental that day.) I would have gone to add a gallon if they had confirmed I'd be charged for any fraction of a gallon. It was more that I wasn't sure how much to replace since I couldn't visually see the difference of one gallon on the tank meter in the truck! This experience of being told something different is more the issue than the additional $5.40.ELIZABETH W.

Customer service here was as good as any place in any business I have been too. Everyone is helpful and the people look like they enjoy each other at work. I dont think my issue has anything to do with the team as it was oddly specific. I traveled from St Louis to West, Tx on 9/30. For 60% of the drive it was raining and raining hard. The upper part of my driver side door had a leak and I was getting hit by rainwater on my left shoulder and pants whenever it was raining moderate to hard. I was drenched. The next day it didnt rain but I moved in and found water damage to some of my belongings and my couch was damp. I dont think the leaks were something thats detectable in a maintenance check as those are carried out probably when its not raining. Nonetheless, I believe I should be compensated for this and receive a discount as now I cant trust a company that I have viewed as the top choice in moving. I would be interested in talking to management about my experience. 8325772807TREY W.

Very helpful with hitch desired but replaced with an alternative when paying upfront. Explained I desired a hidden hitch without the bottom bar showing on my car. The manager asked the installer which hitch would be the hidden type and the installer pointed out the hitch that I wanted. He did a very quick and excellent job and asked what to do with wiring inside the vehicle or mounted near the receiver. He did as requested and I was very satisfied with this establishment! Would suggest using anyone who has doubts to use them.Eugene H.

Staff was very helpful. The UHAUL app had issues! I couldn't easily pick up my truck early by saying pickup now. Only option was to go see staff. When returning, I tried taking a picture of mileage and fuel over 6 times, I also looked at examples but the app never accepted it. I was returning at night and did have the switch on.PAUL D.

I was told that the truck was a little over half full when I picked it up and to return it to that level. When I filled the truck up right before returning it, it was one tick above half full--ie a little over half full. I was then charged for 3 gallons. They marked the tank at only half full, even though it was definitely at the tick mark beyond that. Additionally, apparently the tank began at two tick marks beyond half full, so I got charged for two ticks of gas. If you're going to try to be that specific about the amount of gas you require, then you shouldn't tell the renter an imprecise measurement such as "a little over half full". That implies that a loose approximation is sufficient. You should instead say, "look at the contract to see the tick mark where the gas is currently, that is what we will be looking for when you return the truck". That is informative and sets the proper expectations. Otherwise, you just look dishonest and like you're trying to squeeze extra money out of your customers.Andy S.

The trailer hitch on the 10' trucks is an absolute knee breaker while you're unloading boxes. You guys should either offer a ramp on the 10' trucks so customers don't bang their legs, or pad the sides of the hitches. But everything else was great.
