The uhaul place was fine and the employees were really nice. But that area in Ballard has seen some homeless encampments pop up nearby, which made it uncomfortable. For that reason alone, I would not recommend this location.Cara B.

I was in line for over an hour and a half due to only one lady being there to check people in. When I finally got there a second employee started checking people in and he told me my truck that I reserved for the day was rented out. So after waiting some more for that employee to find another truck I was given a truck with no gas... I was very frustrated with the check-in process as well. I checked in prior to arriving but was told that didn't matter and I had to redo all of the same information. I would like to point out that the male employee that helped me did a great job with the situation. But the lady working that morning was SO rude, she managed to butt into me and the other employee's conversation and make a rude backhanded remark that was absolutely unnecessary and just made me even more frustrated with the situation. I would love to have someone call me about this employee if you need more information. The checking back in at the end of the day was fine, fast, nice, and got my total within 2 minutes.Memo M.

Employ some type of security in the parking lot. The area feels very unsafe and I believe that my fuel was siphoned off. I had to go to a gas station with an empty tank. The reimbursement you paid me for gas does not cover the real current price of gas. I don't have time to dispute this but we are both losing money because of the lack of security. The gas cap was missing ffs. Other than that the van was very clean and the two older employees that I interacted with were working very hard to keep things running. These types of folks are rare these days and one day I will not be surprised if this location is forced to closed because people are done putting up with all the safety issues in the area.Kacper L.

The van I drove got 1 mile to the gallon according to the gage. When I brought it up only one person would help me. La Tasha is the best thing you have at this store. You need to see why the van uses so much gas or fix the gage. I drove 13 miles and had to put in 12gals gas to bring it back up. That is not sustainable business practice. I've rented from other places and many vans for years. None have been that bad. Considering gas prices I will have to go where the vans work better next time. Your employees won't even discuss the problem. La Tasha was the only person that came through and made the visit worth while.Angela D.

Staff was friendly but it's bullshit that you charge $6.50 per gallon if the uhaul isn't returned full but then don't fill it up. I get that I could hypothetically have returned it at the 3/4 tank I got it, but pragmatically it's damn hard to fill a vehicle to 3/4 of a tank. Staff was very friendly and helpful and efficient. The woman working there was very effusive and extremely kind to all of the customers. But the other staff were also very friendly and professional. Unfortunately this location suffers from quite a bit of surrounding homelessness and I'm not sure what can be done about this.James C.

More staff to make things go faster and better Wi-Fi for the staff who are there trying to run things and process customers as quickly as possible. The staff who helped us were lovely (both Na Tasha and another gentleman whose name I didn't catch) - they were efficient and helpful and friendly - the line was just very very long because the Wi-Fi was processing things slowly and there were only two of them there despite it being the last Friday of the month when I imagine lots of rentals are scheduled.AILENA J.

I arrived at 7:50AM and was not helped until roughly 9:30AM. The employee kept giving the same keys to the same broken truck to each customer she helped and then would have to walk outside for some unknown reason and then return only to help a customer who had already been helped. Second employee sat on his phone and never helped anyone. The employee who helped the line even stepped out for a smoke break while a line of people extended out the door of the building. This was the absolute worst uhaul experience I had and it was simply because of your employees not understanding the roles they are employeed/trained to do. A god-damn trained monkey could have done a better job. Shame on you all.HENRI M.
I waited an hour and a half to pick up my truck. When they finally got to me they gave me a truck with no gas. There were 15 other people in line at 8am on a Wednesday with only one employee working. She had to handle reservations on top of two trucks without gas and two with dead batteries. It was a nightmare.Thomas M.

Put a gate around this place, the first truck I had had it's fuel tank drilled and I had to bring it back. Overall the place is so sketchy and it sucks that you can't do anything about it. This place was an absolute nightmare of a location. I would tell anyone to avoid this place at all costs it's lot is filled with trucks and garbage lining the streets and they say you have to street park or they'll tow you. The people seem not to care and the manager wasn't on site despite the fact that over 3 UBoxes we're scheduled for pickup and there wasn't anyone around to help. Nobody seemed sorry about the sad state of affairs that you can barely call a business. Pathetic.Noah A.
When we picked up the trailer, they specifically told us that even though the trailer was old it was in great condition. Told me that had inspected it completely. The next morning when we got on the road, I checked the tire pressure, which was very low. So as I was airing up the tires, I realized that the tires were dangerously bald. Cords were showing on both tires. We then spent the next 4 hours getting the tires replaced. The only bright spot was the gentleman that was sent to fix the tire. He was told it was a newer tire, and did not have the correct wheels. So he accompanied us to a tire center to have them replaced. He stayed with us until things were resolved. Not a U-Haul employee (contractor), but extremely helpful.Michel G.

There is definitely not enough staff at this location. The gentleman that helped me was great! However, the cargo van I rented was on EMPTY even though the paperwork indicated it had 1/4 tank and I was asked to return it with 1/4 tank. Needless to say, I ran out of gas in less than 2 miles! I know that I was overcharged given all of issues with the gas and mileage.Palmira C.

The store is fine and the people who work there are extremely professional, but I wouldn't recommend it because the amount of vagabond trailers that line the streets around the location. There is no safe place to leave your car and I definitely wouldn't want to be caught there at night. I feel bad for their workers.Terriko S.
The key return was broken. I was on the phone for almost an hour at midnight trying to return the keys. The woman on the phone was honestly rude and not trained properly because she kept not knowing what to do. Returned keys the next day instead. Also, being there late at night isn't safe. Two men tried to strong arm rob me in the lot when I arrived but my friend and I threatened them with my baton and they left.Theodore L.
The person checking me out didn't notify me verbally that I had to look at my phone and do a check in before driving the truck away. I got home to load my stuff and noticed the message, but the link had expired. I had to call your customer service to resend the link, and I had to upload a photo of previous scratches on bumper. This is my first time I am using Uhaul, so I didn't know I had to do this. Please make sure you verbally tell us first timers to do these things. Thanks! Otherwise excellent service.Alexander B.

My reservation wasn't honored at the the Terry Ave location(Seattle storage), which really shortchanged me last minute, as I was turned away with no u-haul but I needed to be out of my apartment that day. I had everything set up, including 2 hr elevator reservations. I quickly went to the Ballard location who told me they were short of trucks BUT would be kind enough to loan me a truck as long as it was back within a quick return. I am extremely grateful for the Ballard location, as it could've been a huge financial strain for me to reschedule the move.McKenzie S.

This experience was perfect but my experience 2 weeks prior was not-I reserved at Ballard location but they changed it to Duwamish on the morning I was to pick up so I cancelled as driving 15 miles one way at $1.29/mile was not okay Does this qualify me for $50?-to quote your guarantee Your reservation is guaranteed or we will give you $50 Should U-Haul, through its own fault fail to meet time, place and equipment size of your truck, trailer or towing equipment, a $50 "Reservation Guarantee" will be paid and U-Haul will still attempt to fill the reservation. The website is terrible. Tried to call in to make a reservation, but the wait time on hold was 50 minutes. While making first reservation, my website session expired by the time I finished navigating through all the many webpages they throw at you. I didn't think my reservation was successful, so I quickly made a second reservation for any available truck at a closer location. I also reserved a storage unit, thinking it would be offered in the same neighborhood I was renting from. Also, the hours of the storage were not clearly communicated.
