I think it's ridiculous that I was charged fuel charges after paying to fill tank back up and already charged for driving from one location to another. I was also show a rental charge for the utility dolly and it was $7 online but my receipt says $10. These little charges that were added to the bill are ridiculousLisa P.

Not everyone knows how to read. When handing off paper contracts, you have to read and explain to the customer what the contract entitles. you also need to explain how a uhaul rental works and what is expected of the customer.NGUESSAN B.

The pickup in Hagerstown was amazing on 25 September 2020. There was a gentleman there who stopped what he was doing to help me find my vehicle. He didn't work behind the desk. There was no dolly as I found out later. He noticed me again and got me a brand new dolly. He was a complete professional and I wish I noticed his name. The process to rent/pickup/return is very simple and stress free. Moving is already stressful enough so it's nice to have such a streamlined system. My move would have been a nightmare without the use of a uhaul truck. It was easy to load and unload and eliminated the need for a lot of trips. ¡Gracias!Christina E.

This is a two part review. The first trip I rented a truck in Hagerstown and drove it to New York to take my son to college. Then I rented a smaller truck at the same New York location and drove it back to the Hagerstown location with items ended up not fitting in his dorm. On the way up we got stuck in an accident that shit down all the lanes on the highway forcing us to take a detour several miles out of our way. We were supposed to stop to pick up a car trailer to haul his car up there but the traffic back up kept us detained until after the store closed. The young lady. Mishele , kept in contact with us while we waited and was willing to stay after closing to make sure we got the trailer if we wanted it. The delay ended up being several hours more than expected so we told her not to wait or worry just remove the trailer from the rental. Once we got to New York they charged us for the extra miles even though I explained about the detour . I understand they have to make money but we did not joy ride we did not have a choice to not go the way we planned. When we got back to Maryland days later with a different truck the gas tank was wrong but when we showed New York the difference they said it was to late to make changes and to make sure it was full at return or they would charge me. Luckily when we came back to Maryland Mishele was working again so when we showed her the pick of the gas she fixed it. we didn't owe more money plus she made some kind of report about the miles for the trip up since she could not refund it on her end and the New York place was closed to talk to the man there. She was so sweet and did everything she was able to help a stressfull crazy move not be unbarable. We did not plan to have such a hard time but u-haul was wonderful with the fabulous customer service.cynthia B.
I rent from this location many times over the years and used to get quality service but now when I go in there is only one person working no matter how busy it is or what day it is. I returned equipment today and the young lady was coming across the lot I'm guessing just coming to work because she asked us to let her clock in and she would be right with us. I was one of 5 people waiting while the gentleman that was there was on his phone. While I cannot see what he was doing, and it might have been important, he never once spoke to any of us or asked us to be patient he was working on a problem. The lady tried to get us out as quick as possible and was very pleasant apologizing for our wait and smiling the whole time. While she was finishing printing my return receipt the phone rang but the guy never even looked at it or moved to answer it. Not sure what happened but quality of service has gone down hill recently! I will rent again from here because they are more reliable than the other ones in hagerstown, if you don't mind waiting.Ron M.
When I picked up the trailer there was only one person working there (at 4pm on Tuesday September 1st). There was a line of 6 people waiting to pick up or return their uhaul vehicles. My 5x8 trailer when connected to my Jeep had the top rear parking light out and the man said just go with it. I looked to see if I could change the bulb myself and found that the phillips head screw holding the access door was stripped. So I drove it as is.Roland S.

Counter agent was not wearing a mask, even while installing a hitch for another customer. He put one on when I asked, but then moved it so that it did not cover his nose when walking me out to my truck. This is not safe and is unacceptable. Online checkin did not work (would not upload license pic) and no response to an online help chat request. Truck was provided with only 3/4 of a tank. Rented hand truck and blankets were not in the truck, which would have shot online checkin down anyway. Contract printer was down and Iwas told it had been for some time. Truck, once I finally got it and avoided the health hazard of an agent not covering their nose, was fine...but the process was not Ok.Walter D.
So my pick up time was for 8am, I got to the store about 745ish, we waited over an hr just to get our truck. the truck itself was nice, I was able to pack up and move in one load. Then I go and return it and they want to charge me a gas fee saying that I was below a half a tank. First off I only 10 miles on this truck. The gas gage never moved. Now I was smart and took a picture of the dash once I got in it and I proved to them that it was below a half when I got it and whoever said it was over was wrong. Let's just say if I have to move again I know other places to rent a truck from. you done lost my business.David G.

Back tires were clearly not in good shape as I had a major tire blowout on one side and on the other one tire was almost completely bald resulting in a 4 hour delay.Jeffery V.
There was only one employee working & he was in a garage bay working on a car. There was NO bell or buzzer to notify Him that I was there. I called the local # Only to get a recording telling me that ALL Representatives were busy. Finally after about 15 minutes another Customer is one that told me the employee was working in the garage bay. Once I got the truck the interior was dirty thankfully I had Lysol Cleaner with me. Neither the gentleman that checked me in or the one that checked me out was very Customer Friendly. Maybe because they were a little busy and were working alone. Not sure if I will go back to this location.John H.
