I had to pay $100 for a truck I could not use because my movers, whom I bought through U Haul, bailed out at the last minute for a second time. When I returned the truck 2 hrs after I got it the connection failed, which I noted on the return slip, but I was still charged a return fee. No one was willing to give me a credit. Also this location was not near me, they charge for mileage, and even though I was able to reserve the truck at a much nearer location they did not honor the reservation and switched me out to this one. The whole experience was disappointing. Also you cannot get anyone on the phone at the local number, they forward all calls and the wait is 50 minutes to an hour where they force you to listen to 60s acid trip theme music. And when your movers bail out, the choices left are:â€wore crocs, broke all my stuff and hit on my sister. â€œRobin M.
I waited inside the store for 45min waiting to be checked out and got a message from UHaul saying because I hadn't checked in yet my reservation was going to be cancelled unless I called the number. Infuriating and frustrating, 2/10 customer service.gabreial P.

Greg the manager is an amazing individual. He is the kind of person you want as your customer service representative. He knows how to work in addition to managing. He gave me great advice about the trailer. He helped me solve an electrical issue on my truck. I cannot say enough good things about the 6x12 trailer (which BTW pulled like a dream), the location and the staff. Well done U-Haul!!Robert N.

The manager is very nice and accommodating. He switched my unit to one a little closer to the door. However I am having issues with the door closing. ***Also a big problem was that there are or were PODS placed right in front of the entrance sliding door and also they were taking up value parking spaces right in front. I except to be able to park near the door and not have pods placed there. There are only a handful of parking spots and to have pods there was not acceptable especially for what you charge for storage.Amanda P. | Online Move In

The facility was very clean and processing in/out was efficient. I rented on a Saturday about 8:00 and at that time there was only one person working the counter. I had to wait about 20 min. I think it would be helpful to have at least two people working at the counter. (As soon as it was my turn, another person came to help customers -- there was a line -- but I think it would be helpful to have someone there earlier on weekends.) Overall, I really like using this facility. Much better than South Burlington in my opinion.Greg E.

App return after hours goodâ€¦..didn't like the disclosed info that if I didn't use the app, I would have to pay a $20 check in fee. It may have been in the small print in the contractâ€¦ But I feel if I rented a vehicle from your company, whenever and wherever I return it they wouldn't be someone of a hidden charge. I may be wrong, but I feel like I didn't strongly see that in the upfront documentsâ€¦ That was my only turn off. Other than that I have a good U-Haul experience.Bill G.

10AM appt for a trailer. Arrived at 9:45 and waited about 5 minutes for the prior customer. My turn - the (only) person checked me in on the computer but a tech problem came up so he couldn't take my payment. A girl? came in who I assumed was the manager and told the only clerk to fix a plugged toilet in the employees bathroom. He left me standing there along with a few customers behind me in line. Did the manager bother to help out with customer service? Of course not! The clerk eventually returned, checked me out using one of the two other computers, and brought me outside to hook up the trailer. Arrival to departure - half hour. When I returned the trailer I wanted in line behind one other returnee in the returns lane. The same guy who checked me in unhooked the enclosed trailer in front of me and proceeded to pull out a power washer and washed the trailer - all the while I was sitting there to drop off my rental. Fortunately I wasn't in a hurry otherwise I would have just unhooked myself and left. You just can't make this stuff up:)Arvid D.

I had a really hard time trying to open the door to my unit and had to ask another customer for help. The door slide could use some DW40. Otherwise, all was good. The young gentleman who helped us out had his hands full while I and five other customers were waiting for service, as he was the only staff on site. The online booking process is very unorganized. It allows you to choose a pickup and drop off location even when the equipment is not available for that site. Also, I received a phone call a day after I had returned my rental asking if I still had it.Ashley L.

I reserved three U-Boxes and ended up only using two. The owner Greg Thompson told me I would only be charged for the boxes I used, yet I was charged for the third. I loaded the boxes on-site and had them stored there for a couple of weeks. I scheduled movers to pick up the boxes on June 4th. I tried to coordinate the timing with the U-Haul location; however, they would never answer the phone (nor acknowledge my email). I was forwarded to customer support and it took three attempts to make the reservation. On the 4th the location was not ready for the movers, so I was not able to move the boxes for three days because of this. When talking to customer support trying to schedule the box pick up, I told them about being charged for the third box. I was told by the agent they would remove the charge, but not! Now I have to call again to get a refund. I live in Idaho and was scheduling this for my daughter's move. Otherwise, I would have gone to the location to speak to someone directly. I will be using other moving/storage businesses going forward.John A.

Mobile check out when returning truck didn't work. Phone assistance took 20 minutes to get a hold of, which didn't tell me not to drop the key into the door slot in time. And when I went back at 4pm during business hours to obtain invoice, no one was there and the doors were locked.Benjamin R.

The hours need to be extended for the weekend. Closing at 4 pm on a Saturday is ridiculous! Not being able to get into the storage except through a small door is terribly inconvenient when unpacking a truck. Take a hint from public storage: the door code should open the large sliding door too!! The gentleman checking in the trucks was clearly overworked, as well as the younger gentleman working inside. You need to have more staff on the weekends. When I finally left after unpacking my truck there were at least 10 trucks lined up for after hours check in! The storage facility is newer and clean, but access needs to be addressed.Amy C.
Wait time was unacceptable. I understand that only one employee was working on Saturday at 3:15, but to wait 45 minutes to simply pick up a truck is ridiculous. I'll add that the lone employee who was working was very good and that he worked incredibly hard given the circumstances. Management at the 5010 Williston Road location must either hire more workers or must be willing to go to work themselves after hours. My experience was bad, and I'll be letting others know to avoid this Uhaul location until I hear that service improves.Andrew H.

Boxes were stored at the facility. I called more than 24 hours before I needed to access them, and they weren't ready upon arrival. I had to wait an additional half hour for them, which are into my cargo van rental time. Frustrating, as I followed their rules.Jennifer D.

Our pickup location was moved last minute and we did not know. More could have been done to ensure we got the message but the real problem if the person we spoke to at the South Burlington location gave us the wrong address for the new location and we had to scramble around more trying to figure out where to go. While traveling we needed assistance to change drop off locations. 3 Chat sessions were disconnected without any assistance being offered and 4 phone calls were disconnected after we had waited 20-30 minutes on each. Overall I am not looking forward to ever working with U-haul againKenneth R.

The truck we rented was unavailable. They didn't tell us until we arrived. They only had a smaller truck Available. We rented equipment (hand carts). They don't rent these from this location but didn't tell us this until we arrived to pick up the truck. We had to purchase a hand cart from them instead because at that point we did not have any time to find one elsewhere. Customer service was awful and check in was slow and disorganized.Corey N.
