It's more of improving for ALL customers. At pickup and walking a distance to get the truck, the contract stated the miles out was 77970 and the tank was 1/4 full. The miles were actually 78178 and there was only 1/8 tank of gas. Needing the get moving along, I took pictures of the miles and gas gauge and left knowing I'd discuss it upon return to see what chargeback would help resolve the issue. Since I work in the rental industry (cars at an airport) isn't it on the employees to verify the miles and gas upon check in, or when preparing the truck for the next customer?

Great customer service oucking up trailer whenni retunred trailer absolutely rudest people ever refused to look at my reciept and issue my full deposit bsck even though the trailer was 14.95 tax was a $1.05 and deposit was $60 and i paid $80 and recieved $4 in return the lady said she didnt csre what the u haul recipet said she isnt going to look st it and its usless to her if i want my 16 back that bad i can come back when i hrabbed my money she said i was rude and i wasnt allowed back i said in getting my kiney back she said good luck with that your not allowed bsck so ill never see that money. I was so pissed i called her a bitch and left the trailer where it stood and ive already contacted my attorney about what happend and u-haul basically stole my money. The lady was african american and as soon asni walked in she rolled her eyes beforeni ever said a word she seen a white guy with tattoos and a motor cycle club shirt on and assumed i was a white trash racist red neck and she treated me that way the whole time even saying typical white boy not realizing im half Puerto Rican. My father n law and i buy and sale cars and mortorcycles and used u haul for years we will never use another one i am going to try and pursue a court case against u haul for not only stealing my money but for the way i was treated calling me a typical white boy treating me like dirt she deserves to be fired sued and shown what it is like to live in reality. Racism is a 2 way street treating me like crap because im a "typical whiteboy" is ridiculous and is demeaning if i said typical black lady id be hung out to dry she deserves everything she gets and uhaul for not discipline her

When I picked up my rental I was told that the gas gage showed just under a quarter tank but when I started the truck the gage was just above the E on the gage and I immediately went and put gas in it for fear of running out. I put about 27 miles on the truck and returned it with the gas gage on a quarter tank and informed the attendant about the discrepancy on the paperwork regarding the gas gage. She asked if I took a picture of the gage and I said I had not because I was more concerned about getting to a gas station for fear of running out. I was shocked to get the receipt with a $30 fuel charge. I was very disappointed to pick up a rental that hadn’t been gassed up and more disappointed to have been charged a $30 fuel fee. This was my seconded rental from this location in 2 weeks and had no problems the first time. Sincerely, Ed Laub

Waited 10min for someone to come to the counter to help . Customer in. Front of me . By the time the worker came to the counter. Their was 6 more poeple waiting behind me. Computer systems went down while worker was trying to process my rental. The employee was very respectful under pressure. but clearly over worked , and she had to even go out and clean the rental truck before I could take the rental. Poorly ran location even though they have multiple poeple trying to rent.

There is so much to say. To start I will get the positive out the way as it will take less space. The manager(Janet) I believe who checked me out and made adjustments was very helpful and honestly most likely kept me from blowing my top the remainder of the way. She did me right, and while I'm quite unsure at this point if I will use Uhaul again or not, she would be the ONLY reason Why. Now for the story.... The day I came in to check out the truck that I was rented I was told where it was and i went out to get it and they were all covered in snow you can't see the numbers so I go back in and tell the lady I can't find it and her and another gal came and pointed to it being a different spot. I had let it be known from the beginning that I was in a rush and assumed when you rented a vehicle covered in snow was covered in snow it would be cleaned off upon rental. the ladies offered to clean it at this point but I felt it would just be another thing to slow Me up by this time. However the girl who did check me out originally was very kind and even though things were messed up from the jump in a sense she had no fault in my opinion. Circumstances changed a lot over the next week and I kept the truck every day quite frequently it was parked here and your guys a lot and I couldn't get to it to even be able to use it and finally I went up there worked it until I got out and I used it for the next however long and I got stuck in my alley for a few hours one day and the place here and there it was bad out and I used it for hauling around a snow blower, bags of salt a shovel and ice chipper and did snow removal I also was in the middle of a move and needed to put stuff in storage so it was a double rental basically. Now I've used you guys enough to know that after a hundred miles the rate for miles is discounted or figured out a different rate this was not applying to my rental and nobody suggested and returning it and then just re-renting and adjusting my mileage and removing the extra insurance. One lady in the middle of the week was extremely rude to me I don't know her problem and I personally didn't want you because I haven't seen the bill and oh yeah she was trying to take money off my account and I was telling her I had like $10 less in there then she was trying to take so I told her that she said okay and still ran it for the full amount after she was extremely rude to me like she doesn't understand that if you run something and it ain't there it's going to cost a person an extra $25. I didn't care that it was getting ran I needed to split the payment or pay $10 less for a day or whatever it was because money was in limbo some people are very inconsiderate and those are the wrong kind of people in my opinion to have working in a place where it's all customer service. Aside from that the plows weren't coming through and I was told from an employee or maybe even two that they wouldn't be there until the storm was done well what about people returning rentals or needing to grab their rental out of your guys's parking lot or whatever it may be nobody was talking about compensating me or adjusting my bill to credit being stuck in your parking lot and I have literally just come into repay switch my vehicle for that again. I had tried to omit the insurance I had tried to get the over 100 mi rate and everything was to no avand. It was just a lot of stuff that had bothered me and I feel as a customer not only because I was the customer but because I inquired throughout that it was right in this process. Lastly it was the day that I was turning it in and I brought it here loaded to unload in the storage unit that I'm taking advantage of renting for the 2 months free like I was emailed about at some point during that week. Well I had told the gal at the counter about it and she basically sat there and call me a liar they told me I needed to come up with proof the manager was outside and when she came in she wouldn't verify anything unless I had proof and all I can say is it was sent to me I'm not a liar and how are you an employee of this place and unaware of the promos? Maybe next time don't be so quick to jump the gun on someone when you don't necessarily believe what they're saying until you verify on your end whether or not it's something y'all are running. I'm 42 and I know over the duration of my working career these last 30 years almost it was my responsibility to be aware of updates to policy and etc etc the information would be provided and I would be responsible to read said policies or updates. Anyhow end of rant it was knocked down to a more reasonable rate thanks to the manager. The girl who rents me the storage unit that gave me the one month was also very polite and that's who I meant earlier in this it was when I noticed the next day or whatever that it was only one month and not two when I'd asked a gal at the counter and that might have been my checkout day or the day before not sure. My only complaint was that the trailer did not have the snow cleaned off when I came to pick it up. They had ample time to get it done as I ordered it a few days before. The time delay made my my day twice as stressful.

Janet was very helpful with whatever I needed. She responded to all of my emails very quickly, always had a professional attitude and was super friendly. I did have a couple issues during my storage rental but Janet was able to correct the issues right away. I would definitely rent another storage unit at Uhaul in the future if I need to.

Truck had 4 water bottles in cab. One had yellow liquid. Rest of truck and AT were clean. Only one worker at time of pickup, but he worked as efficiently as he could. Fuel tank didn't appear to be full as guage dropped quickly on first tank.

The hydraulic brake was slow to react on the trailer I rented. I would be at a stop light and the brakes to the trailer would not release right away causing my truck to spin the back tires (2wd)... Just wondering how often this happens when being pulled by one of your box vans/trucks.....

I've had 2 totes stolen from me containing at least $2,000.00 worth of merchandise that I've reported to Uhaul customer service since I've had my things stored there. I later saw my things for sell on EBay. The blond haired boy that worked there would not allow me to be present when my lock was being replaced to my own unit! I was forced to remain in the lobby by this employee watching the locksmith take 2 totes to his vehicle with my things in them as he drove off. I called the local police and they told me it was a civil matter. So, the moral of the story is- if you operate a storage facility the people paying for the units have their rights violated by the employees.

When we first reserved our unit and I called to confirm they told me our reservation was not actually reserved. The key card wouldn’t work, I went to the office to let them know and asked if there was a pin I could get incase this happens again - the front desk guy just told me he deactivated my card and now it should work. When we got to our unit there was a lock already on it. I went to the office to let them know, they gave us a new unit. When I went back to check on our new unit they gave us it already had a lock on it as well. I went back to the office yet again just to wait in line for 10-20 minutes before someone finally came back into the office to help me. We finally got a unit that did not have a lock on them, but they were a lot smaller then the original unit we had reserved. Thankfully no issues with the truck. Overall, terrible experience.

I had rented a 10' z 10' and the associate put me in 2 - 5" x 5" units which I had questioned so tried to accommodate her need but that didn't work so had to go back to request what I initially had signed up for. I also thought that you could drive right to the unit but that wasn't the case so took a bi more time but at least it was climate controlled.

Each time I needed to speak with staff there would be multiple employees working, usually 5 or more but only 1 helping clients. The rest would stand behind the counter and the line would get extremely backed up, as well as when customers would come in that were being loud and demanding instead of stating they would need to wait in line like everyone else the staff would let them skip to the front of the line. Questions always seemed to need to be talked over with a manager or someone of a higher status before being able to continue. As well as staff arguing with each other in front of customers. If you plan to stop in or call this location you need to plan at least an hour per visit as the staff aren't friendly and overall most don’t seem fully trained. The actual storage units were nice and well cared for, it’s just a shame the staffing/customer service doesn’t match.

I appreciate the fact that I was offered a free unit for the month, but it was not disclosed to me that the unit was on the second level of the facility...I had my entire house to move. There was absolutely no way that I was going to haul everything across the store, to the elevator, and to the storage unit. I was also told the unit was able to fit a 3 bedroom house....It was ridiculously small and we fit everything into a 10x26 truck. There was no way this unit could have been able to house a 3 bedroom home. I surrendered the unit and got a different one elsewhere. Super frustrating that the website didn't specify that it was on the second story.

After reserving outside storage due to ease of unloading well ahead of a 9 hour drive to the facility we arrived and they did not have what we reserved and had not for many weeks and basically said not their problem it is corporate U-Haul's issue because they do not track inventory availability at stores. The people working had no solution other than to charge me more for inside storage and when trying to even back the trailer in it was nearly impossible as not enough room was available to back into unloading zone. There was no moving dollies in the area and I called the owner and got no help at all and was told well you can't use the ones in store they are for sale and later said "well I guess we could let you use one we rent"... Totally unacceptable service and care for customer. Should not reserve something they do not have. I have another rental in a week for a truck and if I could arrange an alternative to U-Haul I would as this is very very poor service and considering people moving and using the equipment are typically doing the move by themselves and at the end of a long long and tiring trip do not appreciate or expect such lack of service. Extremely unimpressive and I will Not at all recommend U-Haul to anyone if the independent stores act like this and leave people with the frustration and no help we experienced. I have no alternative for my rental on 20th of June but will FOR SURE tell all that will listen how poor of service and zero customer service with attitude on top of that. I would have hoped people who are allowed to purchase and run stores under U-Haul brand name would need to meet some kind of minimum level of customer service policy, procedure, or expectations. If you want to talk to me I would be glad to share my experience and frustration and further define why this is at least in my eyes and experience unacceptable. I would think if U-Haul does not track and keep accurate or nearly accurate equipment and space availability maybe such a system readily available on the market and used by many should be investigated. I had an inside unit for a year and a half and always felt it was safe...even if I was in the unit by myself I felt safe knowing there are cameras all around. The staff was always friendly and helpful if I needed anything

Every time I had to interact with the staff at the facility it was always a long wait. Every. Single. Time. I could never get anything taken care of quickly. I never was able to get anyone on the phone to assist me when I wasn't able to get the website to take my payment method properly. I had to wait for them to call me when the payment was late. To be fair, they waived the late fee this caused but first I had to have some young kid threaten to sell my belongings before he would slow down and listen to why I hadn't paid. Overall, this was the most frustrating and worst experience I have ever had with a storage unit. I have used U Haul for storage units several times in the past happily but after this experience I am not sure I ever will again.

Things were good for a while and then the country music started. Also the drive in doors are constantly breaking. Another reason I decided to change places is the alarms going off for an hour or so at a time while empty units are being checked. It was maddening and happened every time I was there.

Each time I come to speak with staff there are very long lines with 5-6 staff behind the desk but only 1 staff helping customers. I’ve waited for an hour to speak with staff about problems that should be a quick fix because majority of staff is standing around. Then they don’t follow the line, whoever walks in and is the loudest they help next. The actual storage unit is fine but the lack of help from staff and their lack of knowledge to simple answers make the whole process incredibly frustrating. The lady who seems to be in charge is often doing multiple things because other staff don’t seem to know how to complete requests on their own, she’s very knowledgeable and friendly but most other staff are not.
