We ordered truck on 6/5 for 8/31. On 8/30 they informed us they didn't have the size we need and that to get the smaller truck we would have to go to a different pick up location 45 minutes away. Threw off our plans to move more furniture and changed our schedule. Letting us know sooner would have helped along with a price adjustment at a minimum.Willard H.

The staff at my actually location was GREAT, but the app wasn't working and I couldn't do the automated pick up. So we went inside. I had a confirmation email stating my drop off location and somehow that wasn't showing up on uhauls site. And to add the location I had in my confirmation was going to be an additional $500. The staff agreed this was a UHaul problem and error, but couldn't fix it. They were going to have to call Cindy at dispatch. But it was clear Cindy can be so difficult they didn't want to call her. They asked us to call her implying she might be nicer to customers. She was not. She was rude and awful from the beginning and told us we it was our responsibility to sort it out. That was what we were trying to do with her. It took us a solid hour to rent the truck and get that sorted. Meanwhile we had a number of people waiting to help with a move. That is unacceptable. Cindy needs to be spoken with and should have a job that requires interaction with the public or other staff if she can't learn to treat people with respect and solve problems.Matthew A.

The ceiling tiles in our storage unit were falling onto the ground. I requested the manager, shontelle to get it repaired multiple times (in person, via email, via text) and she was unresponsive and never fixed the issue. I have pictures documenting about 10 ceiling tiles that fell which is a serious hazard to anyone walking in the storage unit and also the items kept in the storage unit. This problem was first brought up to the staff people working in the office a year ago and then to Shontelle numerous times with no results. The last two months of our time renting the unit it was INFESTED with bugs. I have several pictures and videos of this and all of your items were contaminated and needed to be cleaned. Based on the lack of response we received the first time we did not bother with contacting shontelle and instead canceled our contract and moved our items out. Unacceptable condition / dirty/ unsafe unit. One last point to mention is our concern over asbestos exposure due to the condition of the room and falling ceiling tiles/dust. Shontelle stated there was no risk, but again she has not proved to be reliable in any way. This uhaul location is very poorly managed/run.sharmilee p. | Overall Experience

I was locked out of my unit twice. The first time I was told I moved out, which I hadn't and a letter was sent to my son stating I had not paid. Quite embarrassing don't you think. Staff, especially a few managers, have been quite rude to me at times. I am very affable and there was no cause for it. One manager tried to have me evicted until I hired an attorney. Another extremely vile manager threw me out of the store for questioning a charge on my bill. I could go on and on but I think you get my point. I didn't move in at all. The trailer hitch I reserved wasn't ready and I had to go to a different UHaul location to pick up what I needed. So, I got a unit at a different location. I reached out Thursday asking that my reservation be cancelled and the money I paid (for the insurance) be refunded back to my credit card. The representative I spoke with said it would take an hour for her to check and make sure the unit hasn't been moved-in. I followed up twice 3 hours later and I never heard back. Eerything was good until one member of the staff told me that if I moved out on 12/30, I would not be charged for December, yet when I , in fact, moved out by 9 am on that date, I was charged for the full month of December. I have had the storage until since August 19th, and I requested my move out on October 18th. I am still being charged for the Unit. I keep receiving emails and letters in the mail about all of the charges. I have called customer service about 4 times and no one can get a hold of a store manager or storage manager. They are always supposedly out. Many emails have been sent by the agents that have tried helping me. The people at the location are rude. When a customer service agent called, they hadn't accept the move out on there end until a month later. The staff at the store are always telling us that the manager is out and only they can wipe out my debt. I have call a lot and no one picks up the phone. I will NOT being doing anymore business with this location anymore. Excellent experience with great savings! This UHaul of West Hartford made everything easy - check-in and check-out were very fast!!! We had to store items for college dorm. Perks: a free month of storage, free lock, and indoor climate control was an extra bonus that allowed us to store more items than we were previously unable to store at an outdoor storage unit. My storage locker was broken into, I had to come all the way from NC to handle it, which cost me $1000. There were NO cameras in my hallway. I had insurance, through the company that handles U-Haul storage bin insurance. Their rating was terrible with the Better Business Bureau and had many many complaints, unbeknownst to me when I purchased and paid monthly for the insurance for quite some time. I only found this out when I attempted to file a claim after being robbed. The insurance company made it very difficult to even talk to a person, I was only able to leave a voicemail. The one time I was able to talk to a person my agent that was supposed to handle my claim was supposed to call me back, and never did. I was never even able to get compensated for my loss, some of which was irreplaceable to me. I lost approximately $3000 worth of items, along with sentimental values items. The staff at the West Hartford UHaul were always very rude and it seemed to be an inconvenience to them every single time I was there, or called. The only 2 exceptions were the day I came this month to pay my bill and a couple days later when I moved out. The staff on those two days were wonderful, helpful and a pleasure to deal with. I had a pretty horrible experience with this U-Haul facility overall, except for the two days this month I was there.deborah c. | Overall Experience
Arrived at the office to get key to unit and staff member said he will check the unit before he leaves to ensure there's no locked on it and it's available since they were having computer issues. Unfortunately I didn't have time to check myself due to timing and informed him that I will be back later. Arrived late afternoon with 2 cars packed with boxes to find out that the unit was locked and the items from the prior tenant were never removed. I went to my unit to get something and there was a red lock on the door next to my lock. I went the office and was told I moved out. I had not and was very upset not knowing if my belongings were stolen. The person at the desk kept telling me I moved out. I have auto pay and and the last payment was 7/24/2021. He came down to the unit to see if my belongings were still there and fortunately the were. I was required to sign another lease with a new date and think my payments may overlap. He told me to come back and see the manager he couldn't do anything. And couldn't explain how this happened. What if my belongings we stolen or you sold or disposed of them?
