Our van smelt heavily of cigarette smoke. The customer service person was on her cell phone the entire communication between us. She was talking to someone unrelated to uhaul.

The Uhaul was only a day late, it was fine. I just think that the communication should be better. In Milwaukee I wanted to pay for the UBox and they said that I would be contacted later when my UBox arrives and make the payment in Texas. Instead of that happening, my card was charged at a random time with the card that is on file. Had that been my bank card, I could have been penalized if I did not have the funds. Also, the email did not tell me which Uhaul location the UBox was sent to. I never received this information from the Uhaul in Milwaukee either. I had to call random Uhaul locations in McKinney (there are 10 of them) and the wait time on the phones is very long.

The staff that I encountered are friendly and helpful! However, the fact that the truck that I used was not able to accept gas (making me run late on my contract/waste over half an hour running to two stations, trying multiple pumps) and it had tire system warning lights from the start did not help ease my move. I'm more than willing to help you by providing a video of my attempt to fill the gas tank too.

Attempted to rent a car Hauler. Was forced to rent a dolly after the 2 haulers in stock were not in operating condition. Chose this location specifically because they had the Hauler in stock. No manager was on sight to make the ordeal right and wasn't unable to do the full job needed without the hauler.

Truck was not at expected location & not told of change. After driving 3 hours had to backtrack to pick up truck. Had I been notified we could have pick up truck along the way to our moving location. Necessary furniture dolly was missing. Will check other truck rental companies next time.

This was my first experience personally renting a U-Haul and it was HORRIBLE. At this location, Elsie, the general manager, was the main individual I came in contact with, and she was incredibly rude, unaccommodating, and combative. I'd like to think she was just having a bad day, but it was the worst customer service I've ever received. All of the staff lacked a general sense of professionalism - smoking on the job, disrespectful to customers, incompetent... I had to stop at another U-Haul location to get my questions answered. I was grateful for the staff at the other location, as they were kind and helpful.

We arrived shortly before our pick up time of 8 am. We did not get our rental and were able to head out until 8:25. I asked the clerk if we got an extra 25 minutes on the back end, no? Kind of frustrating when I was paying for 6 hours and lost almost half an hour. I know places are having a hard time hiring these days, but don't penalize the custome by not giving them the time they are paying for. The guy who checked us back in on our return was awesome. He was very personable and efficient at his job. He tried to make the return process very smooth and quick.

Elise Lopez the manager was the only customer service available there around 8:00 a.m. and the line was very long she was moving very slow and being rude to everyone. I got there early for my appointment my truck was booked at 8:30 a.m. and I got there at about 8:25 stood in line until about 8:50 , just as I started to greet the manager and tell her my last name just that she asked to pull up my reservation she told me that I was late and I was supposed to be there earlier I told her I have been standing in this line for 20 minutes and I am not late my appointment is at 8:30 to pick up she began to yell at me and tell me that I was supposed to be there at 7:30 because the computer schedules everyone an hour ahead yet my email does not say that on my phone which I tried to show her she began to yell at me more and show me her screen and asked me am I going to pick it up or not because my truck is there but she could have given it away if she wanted to and I told her if you would have given it away I would have just called corporate on you guys because you're being rude and that would have been unacceptable seeing as how who would know to come in an hour early it is not say that on the website after you make your reservation. Elise Lopez then begin to tell me that I can go ahead and call corporate she does not care and if I'm going to get the truck I need to get it now so I went on through with the process and she still had an attitude with me and make sure I took pictures of the entire truck and a video just in case she tried to lie on me and say that I damaged the truck because she told me she remembered my last name from earlier so I did not want to take any chances that she would try to give me a bunch of overcharges because she still had an attitude problem.

The personnel was not honest about their service availability. They they said I can make an extension and they didn't do it for me so was charged extra fees. The manager Elsie Lopez was very rude and started yelling at me saying that she was the manager and I cannot complain about her with anything and she can charge me if she wanted. I think this this location needs another manager.

I asked and booked for a 4x8' trailer from my local u haul dealer Traffic called and confirmed a mid size 5x8' trailer from another location as the smaller was not available . I went to pick it up from that location on my date to pick it up and they did not have it available after they confirmed it was available! They could now only offer 12x6 ‘ trailer or i was not going to make it to Florida for my closing for my condo ! It doubled my gas costs and ruined my car as it was too big and heavy for 1400 miles. I tried to complain and called but faced 35 min wait time twice.

It was a Sunday and it was packed! The line was long by 9:10am (ten minutes after opening). Every staff member we encountered did their job quickly and kindly, even when two customers made “situations”, the staff just kept working to get people processed and on their way. Well done!

My first truck was supposed to be available at 10 am in Hales Corner but no one reached out to me that the truck wasn't returned. Waited for an hour to get through to customer service and they moved my reservation to this location. Once I got to this location to took me another hour to get my truck. I was 2 hours late of getting my truck. This delayed my entire day and I had to change plans. Will never be using Uhaul again.

1 and at times 2 people manning the desk. Could not do independant check in and had to wait 45 minutes to an hour to get a trailer. Allow people to do self-check and send number of trailer so they can do themselves if not a truck. Returning was worse. I was sent to the back lot and forgotten about. 1.5 hours I waited and then finally did self-return but needed assistance to remove trailer from vehicle. I suggest putting on the lever wheel that will assist customers in putting on and removing the trailer when alone.

I was first in line at Uhaul on Saturday morning 7am. Elise Lopez was working. I told her I came early in the chance that I could upgrade my reservation. It was difficult to reserve anything but a 10ft truck. I have a 4 bedroom home I needed to move. She was super courteous and took the time to search for another vehicle. She found a way to help and assigned me a 24 hour 26 ft truck. I am very happy she was able to help. It was one of the hottest days of the year in WI and having this larger vehicle made moving possible. I have 23 years in customer service- mostly in managing teams and sales operations. I know that people make the difference. Elise had a full day ahead of her and probably could have just moved on with my request knowing it's the end of the month… and a line of customers was building behind me. She decided to help. I would absolutely use Uhaul again for my needs- because of her service. I hope you are a company that acknowledges your people that are doing great work.

Line inside of the lobby was INCREDIBLY long, only one agent servicing people. I was having trouble using the app. If one other person could have been available only to help app users, give keys, check out people who wanted packaging peanuts and other minor assistance, that would have been smarter business operation. A separate associate could help everyone going through the painfully long process of truck rentals. Waited in line for nearly 30 minutes before figuring out the issue myself. By that point I was still only half way through the line. There should be multiple signs on the property as well as something noted in the app that says exactly WHERE the key drop box is located. I returned the van late at night with about 15 trucks parked in the check-in lane obscuring the key drop box. I wandered around the property for 20 minutes, almost missing my bus home, trying to find the box or a sign that stated where it was. I even tried calling after hours help. POST A SIGN ON YOUR DOOR! There is no reason why the experience had to be as frustrating as it was. This was my first (and possibly last) time using this location. I'll go back to using the location on 1st and Pierce for now.

I was pleasantly surprised with Uhaul in general scheduling online was easy uploading my ID with easy truck was available pick up was efficient drop off was efficient. I also like that you're right across the street from a gas station. The only time I got stressed was trying to find the truck and the counter lady Elsie fortunately had came out found the truck got it open gave me the keys and set me up. I was very relieved because she did it in a friendly manner.

The truck was a half mile back in parking lot. It was only confirmed less than 24 hours before and workers were rude when we called back with a question after a hold time of 20 minutes. Madison drop off was delightful and pleasant Will never rent from west Allis again

Reserved a 1-way trailer to convey storage contents to St.Paul. After I paid, & with no call, U-Haul CANCELLED my reservation; & informed me that the trailer I reserved the week before was their LAST for 1-way use. U-Haul staff then informed me that I had NO RECOURSE. Only offera "local trailer"- I'd have to drive back fr St.Paul- I acquiesced-desperate. Storage was fine-but the rest is unacceptable.

After completing our move with the U-Haul truck we were advised that we could store the items at U-Haul for one month at no charge. This was extremely convenient as we were not able to move into the new home until mid July.

I'm really annoyed that U-Haul's policy is even if you have a reservation, storage units are first come, first serve. I had a reservation for a unit that I placed a few weeks ago and when I arrived I was told that it was given away. I then had to pay quite a bit more for a larger unit because it was the only unit available. The customer service was good and the unit was good, low stars are due to cooperate's new policy.

Not a well run Uhaul. Several issues with setting up the storage unit and then after we moved out we got a letter stating our rent was overdue. Then I could not reach anyone to straighten it out online or over the phone. Had to go back in and wait 20 minutes to speak to a manager. Finally got it straightened out. Stressful.

Truly never had such a horrible experience. Truck was to be picked up at 11 am. Got there. No truck they say. I ask why. no answer. Asked about other trucks parked. Said waiting on other customers. so we tried to get another truck but they wouldn't comply. I had a reservation for my truck at 11 am. Well finally 1pm Finally got a truck. Played phone tag with the u-haul place. at one point they cancelled my reservation. While I'm still waiting for a truck. I have never been so frustrated in all my life. I have people helping me move and all they had to do was wait? The man at west allis u-haul was nasty. I will never recommend u-haul again.

My storage unit got messed up twice! They said system errors. Then, I had a very poor experience with renting a uhaul. I didn't receive any indication that I needed to be there within 15mins of my pick up time. I was stuck with a uhaul that was 6' shorter and caused me to make 2 trips to move! Which equated for more mileage! They never reimbursed me for that extra mileage! That same day, I went in to pick up the uhaul, I was upset about the cancelation. I know I wasn't disrespectful to the lady, however, her husband, the GM Jose, embarrassed me in front of a line of people by yelling at me and threatening me!! I would hope this company would know having a husband and wife work together at a location can cause this exact issue to happen when things don't go exactly right. This location has made several mistakes and never once took ownership of there mishandling of my storage unit and rental issue. They just blamed the system. When you are a GM of a location, you need to conduct yourself that way! Jose definitely failed at that and caused a scene for no reason! He is a poor example of a leader. No leader should have an outburst like he did!! Very unprofessional!!

The employees at the location of the storage facility were helpful but I had to take a day off of work to drive there in person because no one ever picked up the phone at the location. Every time I called I was rerouted to an offsite customer service rep that would state they couldn't help me because they didn't have access to the accounts at a different location. Tried chatting online and was also told that only a rep at the exact location could help. Leaving messages didn't help either. I would get a voicemail with the general number to call back and no one would pick up again. Tried calling corporate and would sit on hold for 30-40 minutes at a time and then have the same experience. While the face to face employees were helpful, the experience I had moving was horrible with this company. I had to go between 3 locations to get a truck and storage facility and then the size that I ordered wasn't available even though I had paid for it online with a credit card already. Miscommunication from the company only created more issues with trying to relocate out of the area. I have driven over 200 miles extra to deal with issues from moving and using the storage facility. Horrible experience.

gave me wrong unit to start with made me move every thing out of unit and made me move it all back in diferene unit on 100 degree day charged me for 30 boxes when i had 10 wont refune money i will never go back there

My experience was fine with the staff working at the time but I was highly frustrated with the fact thtmat the 10 by 15 I had reserved had been rented to someone else. I needed this size and was not permitted to go bigger in size even though this was not my fault. Smaller didnt really work for what i needed.

Pick up was a nightmare. Only one desk clerk and line was out the door. Should be a way to facilitate picking up if you have a reservation. I get the covid angle but standing in line for over an hour is BS. Why register a pickup time if it's not honored?

I rented a unit online that would be large enough for the contents of a one-bedroom apartment. When I got to the facility, I was told I'd need take a cart back-and-forth to fill the unit, which I'd never had happen before. I ended up having to rent a different kind of unit I could drive up to. I reiterated that I had furniture and boxes from a one-bedroom apartment. When I got to the unit, it was only big enough for a few boxes. I had to go back to the office to get a unit that was the size I requested.
