The truck was old. I wasn't going to say much as long as it got me from point A to B. But as I drove it the truck seem to have a transmission problem. Like it was rearing high, would jerk at times on speed increase and the shift change was off. But again as long as I can take care of what I needed. But then my battery died. I don't know if the key didn't turn all the way or if I didn't turn the lights off but I had to get a jump. It wasn't horrible but I hope next time I can just get a better truck. The representative acted as if I was an inconvenience. The representative was rude. He told me not to do anything on my phone and he would take care of the rest. He did not politely ask he demanded. When I returned the van they told my boyfriend to just leave the keys in it and they would handle it later. This location is definitely not what it used to be as far as service. Definitely changed and unfortunately not for the better. Also, the pictures of the van when I picked it up were from when the van was new and clean. I made sure to make note of that when I submitted vehicle condition report when I picked up the van. In light of a pandemic that we are facing, maybe staffing could be an issue but when you have more staff doing other things than waiting on customers, it's not customer service oriented. I was given a vehicle that was defective which caused some cost discrepancies. Although the company split the cost of the mileage which I appreciate, but the gas gauge was broken which caused me to over fill my required limit. I was told that that would just be reimbursed to me which never happened.Darryl H.

Bobbie, who delivered the container was extremely helpful and gave suggestions that saved me money. She had a great personality and her helpfulness was gratefully received. We ended up picking up the container at the Waterford facility and it was already put on a trailer for me to move free of charge. When making the initial reservation nothing about a weight limit was mentioned and it is not on any of the documents that you send out. You have to go searching for it on the website to find it. So when my driver called to schedule box pick up she asked what I was shipping and said I probably need to 2 boxes. This is 2 days before pick up. It is obvious this happens frequently as she had solutions so readily available and said she would only charge the minimum shipping amount for the 2nd container. This is very dishonest and unprofessional business practice. And trying to get a hold of anyone at the main number takes forever with extremely long wait times. Very disappointing service. Forgot to include dolley when I picked up the truck. Removed the charge after when returning the truck. When I arrived to pick up the truck they were unaware I was also renting a storage unit. They were also unaware I had contracted for two movers to assist in the move. The movers never called, never arrived at the location of the move or the rental office which was less than a mile apart. I left my wallet at the front counter and when I came back it was gone. I ask then where it was at, they said they don't know. I asked them do they have a camera and they yes. She took my number and said she would call me.I looked in every spot I was at, no wallet. had no money no cards and I was looking for my wallet driving around. Then they call saying a salesperson found my wallet by the scan in door. I said I looked there abs I didn't see anything. I believe I the guy who checked me in that day, took my wallet, decided to keep it until I said do you got cameras, then had a change of heart. I think he's sneaky, and disloyal. You you guys need to watch him. I only picked up the 4x8 trailer at this location. I had the Rochester Hills, MI location place my hitch and electrical connection on my car. The Frontage Road, Marana, AZ location was horrified by the installation and the fact that I drove from MI to AZ with no electrical! They connected it to the trunk light! I want a refund of a minimum $70 for the insurance that I may have had to use due to the danger of not having electrical as I traveled across hundreds of miles of very dark land and no one could see me! My problem was the day before not with this location but with another location ; after renting on line a small pick up truck from a location in commerce township I received an e mail that the pick up truck is not available at that location ad a regional employee from u haul will call me and direct to another location ; No one called me so i called the original store in Commerce twp-they told me I was moved to REDFORD MI and the pick up truck is there waiting for me ; i then drove about 20 miles to Redford to be told that u haul never confirmed with them and thy do not have the truck ; IN brief my experience with the Waterford u haul on 3541 Highland Rd was EXCELLENT but the day before it was bad especially that no one contacted meSAMIR FARID F.

When I arrived at this location to pick up the truck that I reserved I was told that they didn't have it. The employee there was very rude and told me i didn't have a reservation and said he could give me a smaller size truck or leave. When I showed him the confirmation that uhaul emailed me showing that i did in fact have truck reserved for the correct date, time and location he said well i don't have it and it isn't guaranteed. It clearly says on the uhaul website that it was a guaranteed reservation otherwise what is the point. I rent about 30 trucks a year from uhaul and have never had a problem except at this location. They need to train there employees how to talk properly to customers and resolve issues without being rude. He wouldn't even give me a discount for having to give me a smaller truck! When i asked for one he said i will not give you a discount and told me to take it or go kick rocks. I have called corporate and hopefully they will work something out.JAMES RICHARD N.

My 4 month storage experience was positive. I would recommend the facility to others. Ann and Bonnie seemed were always around and were knowledgable and professional. My negative experience was returning the 19' truck I rented the first 4 days. I only saw this rental agent one time - during truck check in and he was really nasty when i asked to extend the rental one more day. I would describe his demeanor as abusive. I kept my cool and worked around the "issues" this fella had, but it left me feeling I was mistreated and had not been fairly billed. To this day I feel I was overly charged and had been 'tricked' into excessive truck rental fees. When I left I hired local movers. It was expensive, but I didnt want to have to repeat the U-Haul truck rental move in experience. The UHaul truck rental fees billed to my credit card "were shady". The staff at the counter is super rude. It's very obvious that when you walk in that you've interrupted their internet/social media time on their phones. When I walked to the parking lot to retrieve my assigned truck, it was wedge between 2 other trucks. I walked back into the office and asked if one of the other trucks could be moved. I received eye rolls from 2 of the staff member. They said that they would be right out and I sat for quite a while waiting for someone to come out. It would have been better however. I had to deal with a UHaul employee that wasn't happy with me because I apparently wasn't using the easiest entrance to unload. Number one it was my first time there so how would I have known. He just kept repeating himself and saying for future reference. I was already unloaded I wasn't going to load my stuff back in the car to do it the way he wanted me to. He made my move in experience terrible. He called my phone and then said the same thing in person like seriously leave me alone. He kept saying it like I was stupid. He wasn't trying to be helpful he was upset I didn't use the entrance closer to my unit. I told him it was my first time there and he just kept saying for future reference, which by the way is rude. Other than that experience with that UHaul employee everything else was fine except if it's so important to use the entrance closer to your unit then UHaul should put those specific instructions in the initial move in email.Silkia R. | Online Move In

Inside was clean, but the parking area was a mess. Trucks were scattered all over. A couple were parked and partly disassembled right next to the building. They asked me to pull up to a certain spot when I returned and someone would come out to check me in. It was impossible for them to see someone in that location as trucks and equipment totally blocked the view. The appearance is so bad that it has likely driven away some customers. It looks like they take no pride in the place. On the other hand, the people I dealt with were great. The owner just has to set some standards and enforce them.James W.

The only problem is there were not enough staff there helping customers. When I walked in there were 3 people ahead of me in line, 3 people sitting down that had already been helped and waiting on something before they could leave, and even with a reservation I still had to wait almost 20 mins to be helped. While standing waiting about 5 people walked in after me. It's a small store and people were just standing everywhere. It just doesn't seem like enough staff are on site to service the number of customers coming through. Otherwise the person who helped me individually was great! The lock was not in my unit when I moved in, and when I went to the service area to get a lock I had to wait at least 10 minutes to get help from an employee.
