Moving is a stressful situation. I had movers call and cancel on me, so me and my family ended up moving ourselves. My sons are 10,12,& 14 . I got the truck for 24 hrs. I called and let them know the situation. Customer service rep was short with me in the beginning but in the end they did show some grace. I paid the extra fees, overall the job got done and I am happy with Uhaul's equipment.

Joel S.Not having my truck, giving me a van to move a complete move in 4 hrs.. Charging me 158.00 over fee. The guy at the counter gave me van that was just returned and empty on gas. He never checked it over and never gave me time to do so, he told me to get it out of the, now! That being said, I will never, ever rent from U-Haul again!!
Malisa I.We asked for an auto transport trailer but was told the 6x12 utility trailer was what we needed so that's what we picked up and it wouldn't work so we had to drive all the way back to the uhaul center to trade it back in for the auto transport we originally asked for. We were reimbursed the fees for the first trailer but we spent $40 in fuel having to make 2 trips to get the trailer we originally asked for the first time. I believe we should be reimbursed for at least half of our fuel cost for the extra trip we had to make to pick up the trailer we originally asked for.

Deborah H.I told the person behind the counter that the air conditioning didn't work in the truck. It was a 93 degree day. The comment made was that the trucks tend to do that on the really hot days and they have to get them in for service. No apology for the inconvenience. No offer to discount the rental or anything like that. I've rented from Uhaul multiple times at multiple locations and this experience was not up to par with the others in the past. Disappointed.
Derek C.At the time of pick-up, and return as well, the facility seemed understaffed. It would be great if there was some sitting area while waiting your turn at the desk. I am disabled, and standing 20 plus minutes in line was brutal.
Donald B.I stood in line for one hour Friday afternoon to pick up a trailer. Only one guy working who was trying, but made a line of customers wait while he installed a hitch & lights to a truck to haul a trailer. Ridiculous! Then the trailer had oil all over the floor! Need for much improvement!

RONALD Y.1. There is no option to Cancel a reservation w/o speaking to someone, unless you have a user id/account. I don't rent often to warrant a Uhaul ID/PW and if I can make a reservation as a guest, I should be able to Cancel as a Guest. 2. The wait times on the 800 number are terrible when seeking to speak to a Customer Service Rep. 3, Its very difficult to get a hold of someone at the actual location where I rented from.
Conrad R.Not specific to either facility but this is the only chance I get to tell you how frustrating my past three visits have been. The app does not permit me to complete a transaction. I did everything I needed to do to avoid an in person experience but each time, I find myself standing in line for a lengthy process. The very process you all lead me to believe is virtual, is not. And, I was told by the employee in Washington that he was aware there were some issues with the app. Specifically, at drop-off yesterday, I went through all the motions but the spp would not permit me to take a picture to confirm mileage. Seems silly to bitch about but, after a long drive, all I want is to be done and gone but the app, once again, prevented that from being the case. LAWRENCE Y.I had to explain everything to the person, he was going to charge me for fuel, I received the vehicle with 3/8 of a tank and left it with 3/4 of a tank, it was like I was bothering the person, to do their job, total nonsense, should be polite, respectful and helpful. Made me feel pretty bad, not respectful at all, never look at me when talking, I was so disappointed in the service. I had never had this happen to me before. Uhaul has always been good to me, but now I am extremely disappointed overall

Timothy H.The woman working at the counter was unruly. She had no customer service or inter-personal skills. She verbally attacked my daughter and called her friend a "thing"! I will never rent from that U-Haul location again. The verbal attack was because U-Haul over charged me $154.00 for my storage unit and my daughter was trying to work that out with the female U-Haul employee. The verbal attack was so intense the police were called to calm the U-Haul employee down. It seems to me the U-Haul employee requires Anger Management classes to continue to work with the the public.

Compared to other facilities in the area this place is the best. Compared with other facilities I have used in Detroit area this would not be my 1st choice.

HE is the reason for the excellent rating from me! He is awesome! Treat him right!! Please compensate him for the time he stayed over to help me. He'd already clocked out when he saw I needed help, but STILL helped me. Such a gem!

I thought the prices were high, and I'm pretty sure they went up during our 2 yr rental. No issues with move out. Very easy.

Because we had to take what was available. The woman working did give us a lock for free but my husband wasnt happy at all.

Stephenie R. | First ImpressionsThe staff are not the issue. They are friendly and helpful but this location is short staffed for the volume of business. I came here with a UBox. The day I received an email that it had arrived, I drove down to the location. The staff informed me that generally I should make arrangements a day in advance to access my belongings since they have to move the UBoxrs with a forklift. While not ideal, I took some things and returned home. I then tried calling multiple times the next day to arrange for access for the remainder of the items. The phones at this location seem to be on permanent call forwarding to the call center. Once that happens, you might as well cancel all plans for the day as they never pick up. I then called traffic who said they would send an email to have them call me. I received no call. If the staff doesn't have time to answer a phone, they probably don't have time to read email. I can't make arrangements a day in advance if I can't speak to someone. I called corporate, they said they apologize but they are open until 8:00pm if I want to drive down to see if they could help. In order to have reasonable access to my belongings, I ended up driving down in the evening and renting a space on the 2nd floor and unloading my UBox into it at a higher cost. Bad form U-Haul Management, bad form.

I was clear in telling them several times it was for a riding lawn mower. He said it was ok. I picked up the mower an 2 hours away and brought it to the storage unit only to find it wouldn't fit through the door. So I told the clerk and he said there is nothing he could do.

Let me tell you! The restroom was immaculate and welcoming. It was the best away game I ever had at a public restroom! The price of storage is worth the restroom alone! THANK YOU UHAUL!!

Also recently when they would no longer keep the door open or open it no one seemed to know what was going on. A few weeks ago I stopped and they opened the door and said nothing. Yesterday they asked about my passcode which j never got and af first she had no clue what to do. And when she looked at my account she asked if I set up in line and I have been there almost. 5 years.

Joseph B. | Overall ExperienceWhen I got there, there was a 25 minute wait in line. We drove did what we had to do, got back to the uhaul and there was a lock still on my storage unit. The guy that helped said your estimated total will be $109. And some change he Said the exact amount. Heres a paper showing we didnt charge you yet. When I got in the car my bank statement showed I was charged. And also charged another fee I don't know what it was for. I had to call the uhaul number was on hold for a few minutes the lady on there seemed like she didnt want to do much about it bc it was after hours when we got back to the storage unit. Well suddenly the guy that helped showed up out of no where and said "you probably can't get in, I forgot to show you this part" I said we figured that out but there's still a lock on my unit,you provided me. He said "oh is there". After we got everything unloaded n I self returned the car...my final bill was $169. I will never go there again.
