1) Please make the app function better for after hours pickup. It took me 45 minutes (rather than the recommended 10 minutes) to successfully navigate the check-in procedure and had to log in and out multiple times to get it to work. (I had strong 5g signal, and there were no user errors. The app is just inadequate) 2) Please actually monitor the after hours phone line. I was on hold for over an hour before I gave up. 3) Please put the trucks in locations easier to find. After searching the parking lot for 30 minutes at night, I found my truck located up on a grassy hill with no lights around it and a big cardboard advertising sheet in the front window. 4) Please do not switch customer's rental type from in-town to one-way (or vice versa) without confirming with the customer. This was an unnecessary hurdle to jump through 6) When customers request after-hours pick-up times, please make sure the reservation is configured for after-hours pick-up. Mine was not, despite confirming it would be an after-hours pick-up with two separate representatives.Alec H.

I was given a sheet that says "if at a quarter tank, fill it 16 gallons" to get back to half tank. I was just below a quarter tank and filled it 16 gallons. It then was almost at 3/4 tank. What a crappy business practice to get free fuel from customers based on your direction. Top off all tanks and make people return them topped off and be fair. Instead you are exploiting people for extra fuel because why... ?you're a multi million dollar company. I will not be using uhaul ever again.Kramer M.

Every time I got to any uhaul facility in Madison I am always left waiting at the counter from anywhere between 15-20 minutes it is not very convenient for me If there was anyplace else I could go I would and I would be willing to even pay more for the same service somewhere elseTracy W. | Overall Experience

Your new share 24 app check-in/return is atrocious. When I made my reservation I opted to speak to a human to get my keys, but was pressured into using my phone to pick up my vehicle. Upon arrival it took my husband and me 20 minutes to get through the process of finding the vehicle and clicking through all of the clumsy, horrible UX design. Also: how am I supposed to know if there is damage on the roof of a vehicle several feet taller than me? In the dark? The kicker was when we reached the end of the process and STILL had to go inside to see a representative to collect the keys!!! And there wasn't even anyone there for 5 minutes. No sign of an employee in sight. I understand you don't want to pay humans to do this job, but your new way of picking up/returning vehicles is just completely awful.Hilary H.

Once the trailer was loaded appropriately we noticed the driver side tire was quite low. We stopped at the nearest gas station and put air in it. It held air for the rest of the trip so not sure if the tires were checked before we left the pick up location.DALE D.

We rented an interior climate-controlled unit for the past two years and our experience was excellent. The facility was always neat, clean, well-lit, secure, and accessible. An ample supply of available moving carts also made moving items in and out very easy.Scott D. | Overall Experience
The numbers we called for help never answered. Spent 2 hours on the phone to request a change from local to one way.. We called the second day and waited 40 minutes for someone to answer the phone. I rented a U-Box approximately August 3 to move some things out of my father's home, as we were getting ready to sell it. I called the location on 10/20/21 to let them know that I was going to be picking up the box on 10/27, and also to rent a pickup truck to bring it to the new location. I ended up getting sent to corporate (a different calling place) and they said they could set it up for me. I ended up trying to still call the Warner Park location numerous times on 10/21 and 10/22, with no luck. Finally I talked to someone later in the day on 10/22. She assured me that a message was sent and that the U-Box would be ready by 4:00PM on 10/27. When I got there on 10/27, the U-Box was not ready. I was told the location never got the information. I was moving my 86 year old father, and was flying out of town the next day. I called and talked to someone else, that then sent me to Kayla in scheduling. She said that there was not anything that could be done, but they would have it ready on 10/28. She was never pleasant and assured me that she did as much as she could. That, however, was not enough. I had to find people, call in favors so that the U-Box was able to be picked up, unpacked, and brought back on 10/28, while I was not even in town. I am so disappointed in the service that I received and feel that I should be credited for some of the moving expense. I did file a customer complaint, but have not heard back at all.ANNE S.

Everything was excellent except the parking spots in the loading bay (inside, where you can back your car up to the ledge) were often very dirty. Things like dirty masks and food wrappers were almost always laying around, and often we'd find sharp items like nails, screws, etc. that we'd have to pick up before pulling in. This reduced the convenience (and it was a little gross.) Other than that though, we were very happy with our experience there. The interior was always very well maintained, I always felt safe and like my stored items were safe. Super convenient location and accessibility. I have rented moving trucks from several U-haul locations, this is the only location I will go to. The trucks have always been ready to go and in safe driving condition. The staff has been very helpful when I am there. Just know that you will likely never speak to someone at the store if you are calling, as calls are routed to a call center and no one answers the phone. The storage facility needs help! For the price point and being a â€œclimate controlled unitâ€ I was expecting to feel great about utilizing this location for storage, but I can't say that. At all. Here is what I can say, #1. There were spilled drinks and trash on the floors that looked old. #2. I opened my new unit and it looked like someone had set up a small hang out in there, drinks and all. The staff person was great, he assisted me in locating a new unit, so I hauled my cart over there, however. #3. There wasn't a lock in the unit to use and at least two people were clearly living in the unit next door; one was eating and doing her hair and makeup outside the unit, while the male she was with sat in in the Loading area, getting in and out of his car drinking for the 2 1/2 hours I was there and staring into my Uhaul on several occasions. At this point, if it wasn't for all of the security cameras providing some reassurance and I wasn't under the pressure to unload a Uhaul, I would have left with all my belongings. #4. The staff person was again helpful in assigning me an alternative unit and ensuring I had a lock before leaving. I opened the new unit and there were mouse droppings throughout it. For a climate controlled unit, at this price point, cleaning the building should be a higher priority (especially in the fall when mice are looking for a warm place to nest) and people are living and storing food in their unit. I ended up only storing heavy or sealed items that were in totes and took several boxes home due to concern for the rodents. My rental will be VERY brief.MIA G.

This location is fine but U-Haul on line reservation system is totally unacceptable. I made a reservation for to-go boxes at another location and they were not available when I went to pick them up. I had to call around to all locations personally to see if anyone had them. This has happened to me before when I "reserved" a moving truck. How you can stay in business when you don't guarantee the items that are reserved is beyond me. In today's world, there is no reason that items can't be barcoded and for the system to be accurate when it comes to what items are available or not! You leave your employees on the front lines to take the anger of the people who expect to pick up something for a move (which usually is well planned and can't be changed) and then are not able to get the items they "reserved". I made a reservation (over the phone) back in May for a storage unit starting at the end of July. I also called a week before the move-in date to confirm that I still had the reservation. When I arrived on the move-in date, the staff member told me that the reservation "didn't mean anything" and could only get a unit if one was available. Thankfully there was a unit free, but if this was not the case, I would have been left stranded with all of my belongings in a truck and no moving help. Provided this staff member is correct, this is an absurd way to organize a storage facility. At no time when I talked with UHaul representatives before my move was I warned that I was not guaranteed a storage unit with a reservation. Moreover, why is it called a "reservation" if a unit is not "reserved" for you? Because of the gross misuse of this word and poor communication on the part of UHaul, I recommend that others should NOT use UHaul for storage.Daniel C. | First Impressions

Em and Tanya were absolutely phenomenal! I had less than 20 minutes to find a new storage facility due to Storequest completely obstructing my storage unit I had rented the week prior for Saturday's move. Not only did Storagequest refuse to help me, they did nothing to assist with their obstruction of my unit to gain access to it. I had Two Men and a truck with all my belongings in the truck and no storage left! I got immediate storage through Uhaul and with my circumstances as they were Em made a call to her supervisor and surprised me with not only a free month for the trouble another company put me through , but also had the keys to the unit and a lock ready to go when we arrived. I cannot tell you how grateful and appreciative I am for your incredible customer service, you staff's attention to the details and the speed with which it was delivered means to me! A horrible experience elsewhere was immediately turned around, got me back on track with my move and made me feel like I was being treated with above and beyond service. These two young ladies were incredible to work with and my friend that was with me said exactly the same. She will need help with storage for her daughter in the future and we will only do business with U-Haul from here on out. Your staff gained two loyal customers.
