No problem reserving on line, but when I got to the location there was a line and one employee working at the desk there was another employee working in the garage which the employee should have come to help her. I rented a pickup truck and auto transporter in Auburn Maine UHaul to go to southern Massachusetts to pick up a vehicle and come right back to Maine with it. The trailer blew a tire on the Maine Turnpike and I pulled off in Gray and called UHaul to have it repaired. I got a MAJOR runaround from UHaul, was promised the repair folks would be there in less than an hour and 3+ hours later I was still waiting for them when they called me and told me they had to locate another trailer, then called me back to say it had to be dug out of snow-being unready for use. Then they showed up and told me they had had to dig out a replacement trailer for me and they replaced it on the truck I had also rented. In the meantime UHaul called me before they came and offered me an extension of rental time for my trouble, hole day of lost rental time and all due to THEIR EQUIPMENT FAILURE! and inability to get a replacement trailer to me in any thing close to a reasonable time! I accepted the extension because it was my understanding that I was being extended at no charge due to their mess up, but that is NOT what happened! They allowed me a two day extension but then they charged me for the entire rig rental for the entire extra two days!!!!!! I NEVER would have needed more than the original 24 hours I had rented the rig for but for their equipment failure! I have been a loyal UHaul user for 45 YEARS but they did NOT CARE one whit about any of that. They gave me no gratis extra time, and did not take one penny off my rental! DO NOT RENT FROM UHAUL IF YOU CAN AVOID IT, THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF IN THE GUISE OF PRETENDING TO "HELP" YOU!DAVID P.
Brianna changed my reservation to somebody else named Sandra Holmes. She did not verify the phone number or the reservation number. I know this because had she done those things she would have realized that Sandra Holmes did not already have a reservation and would have started a new one. Instead, my reservation was changed (which is the only way I can think of that my reservation number was used for a completely different truck and date). The biggest problem with this is that had I not received the text message letting me know of my drop off time (Wednesday 7/21/21 by 3pm) I would not have known there was a problem. I would have shown up on Saturday the 24th expecting a 26' truck and not had a reservation!SARAH H.

It would be nice to be shown where different controls. Also would have been nice to let the customer know if the vehicle is equipped with cruise control. Found the vehicle to not be fuel efficient, I've used other companies in the past and had much better gas mileage.GARY L.
The manager of the store had a very poor aditude. He made me feel like I was a bother. I watched him treat other customers the same way. It was not a nice way to start a vacation, luckily I didn't have to interact with him when I returned the rental. I will not use the Auburn Maine location again. If this poor customer service is acceptable at U-haul, I will most likely not use U-haul in the future.WILLIAM F.
When I placed my order the drop off location was changed to were i picked the equipment up. Had to drive an hour to return it. I feel this may have changed when you called to let me know that you didn't have a 26 foot truck I ended up with he 20 foot truck.Roland L.

Tire had been damaged. Techs seemed to have put air in it. Couple hours latter noticed flat tire with huge gash on it. Rim was rusted from damage, so clearly not new. Did roadside assistance and the location have her a tire with a nail in it (also flat). She had to go back and take a tire off of another truck to get us back in the road.Noel M.

I wasn't a fan of the moving dolly and packing blankets I didn't order being in the back of the truck. I appreciate they're probably convenient if you don't think you'll need them and end up needing them, but the amount of space they take up and constantly being careful nothing bumped into them and break the zip ties was pretty frustrating. Otherwise I was very happy with my rental.Curtis M.
I paid for an appliance dolly to move my washer and dryer (and complete my whole move in 1 day, with 1 uhaul) and the dolly wasn't given to me, and I now have to rent another uhaul, another day, and use another one of my days off to move when I otherwise would've moved everything yesterday with 1 uhaul. I also have to find someone to help move again, which is very hard for me to find especially with my work schedule. Very inconvenient and disappointing.Taylor C.

I hope that you can review the communication here. I have been an annual renter for many years with no issues. This time I was billed for an additional 100 miles on my clearly defined trip. When I reviewed the bill, I made notice of this. I have been told that I will receive a credit, ( although I am WRONG) and that on my last TWO rentals I hadn't responded to the verification link. (Never mind the trouble free few previous decades.) Outrageous and stupid commentary. My only fault here was trusting your company as a result of previous trouble free interaction. Maybe you should just keep that credit and spend it on Dale Carnegie training. Someone should explain to this boob that I am not here to keep him happy.SCOTT T.

I informed the associate that the initial gas reading was incorrect. I showed a photo of the fuel reading with mileage. I drove a total of 10 miles. I put 4 gallons of gas in. MORE THAN ENOUGH. The associate said my photo was okay. But when I got my email invoice I was charged $18 for gas.DONALD D.

Staff was exceptionally polite and efficient. I reserved a pick up truck and was notified 2 hours before pick up it was not available. When I got to store I was offered a cargo van which was more difficult but had no choice and was accepting ( if not pleased) but what was awful was the disgusting smell in the van of old stale cigarettes' and body odor! It was gross!!!!!! Staff apologized on return and stated it should have had deodorizer.DANELLE M.

This branch never answers the telephone therefore I was unable to check if my equipment was ready. My equipment was NOT ready for pick up so I made a trip for nothing 3 times and not once did they answer the phone or let me know my rental was unavailable. Horrible customer service and if it was not that they are close to where I live I would never use them again. I have been in business for myself for over 40 years and I learned very early customer service and appreciation means everything. This is obviously not a focus of U-Haul or this branch in particular Dexter Cowperthwaite COO SnapSpace SolutionsDexter C.
Although 9' van truck was clean, etc. as usual (so I checked "yes" above), the SHOCKS NEED WORK!!!! Not felt this bad bumpy ride problem with 8' pickup trucks rented in past. Not just in city with cracks and potholes and uneven pavement where EVERY BUMP is always felt -----in this truck it was felt all the time thru entire truckâ€"through the seat and even the steering wheel!!! Even on the "smooth" new turnpike pavement that has no potholes or cracks, I felt constant nonstop bumping through the seat, the seat back into my shoulders AND thru the steering wheel into my hands!!! Start the truck out with a full gas tank. I've never picked up a U-Haul with a quarter tank. That is just inconvenient. Other than that, it was a good experience.DAVID K.

The customer experience in the Auburn location was horrible. I rented a 20 foot Uhaul for a cross country trip 6 weeks in advance. The night before I was to pick it up, they called me and told me they did not have any 20 footers available. They stated I would have to take a 26 footer. I did not want to travel 3400 miles in the 26 footer but was told that is the way it is. The next day I show up to get it, they did the paper work, then threw the key on the counter and said "its in back in the first row, go find it". Who does that to customers. No walk around the truck, no bringing it up for me. Nothing. I discovered when I dropped it off that there is an app to take pictures and document, but when I picked up the truck they said nothing. I will never use Uhaul again after this experience.Gregory M.

I hated the truck, though. No cruise control was the worst. Windows having to be cranked? I didn't even know they made those any more. The 75mph speed limiter was also a great annoyance, unnecessarily slowing my progress. Lastly, I now have to figure out how to pay tolls since a toll transponder was not offered/available. If I ever have to rent one of these poorly equipped trucks again, it will be too soon.Mark H.
Arrived at pick-up location a bit early opened the business door to a greeting of "we don't open till 7". Went back outside and sat on curb. At 7 went back into business, no good morning, just blank stares. checked in and was told "truck is 1st in line, out back." There were 3 lines of trucks located between self storage units, truck was not 1st in line. I had reserved blankets and a hand truck, they were not in truck. I spent many minutes preprocessing the rental information online. When I got to the pick-up location they reported that they had no record of things like my payment information. It would appear that your online site is still not communicating with your local agents which is a problem for everyone.GEORGE J.

Trailer was clean but we used it to move our son the roof leaked so bad his bed got wet and a bunch of his other belongings too I mentioned that to the guy when I took the trailer back to return it and all I got was â€œ gee awfully sorry that happened to you â€œ roof up front had been patched and apparently who ever did it did a poor job.JONATHAN W.

I rented a storage unit and had nothing but terrible customer service. I emailed customer service and the corporate email with no responses. Finally on the day I decided to move my belongings to another company, there was a nice lady there and she actually listened to my complaints and took good care of me. The customer service was terrible, the storage unit did not seal well so my items were completely covered in road dirt and I could not access my unit at my leisure because they park their trucks in front of the units. They told me to give them notice. So I went all the way out of my way a few days before I would be there with movers and let them know the day and time I would be there. I was repeatedly promised the trucks would not be there. Sure enough the trucks were there. Went out of my way for nothing. The Manager at that location lacks any and all customer service skills. I have worked in customer service and as a customer service manager for 32 years and can feel confident in telling you he has no skills to be in that position working with your customersMelissa W. | Overall Experience
When I went to my storage unit there were trucks lined up in front of the unit. The customer service rep gave us a hard time and just about refused to move the trucks. This happened twice. The customer service is very poor to the point almost everyone is rude. There is also something wrong with the mechanism on my unit we had to pry open the lock every time we went there. I have had nothing but positive experiences with this facility. The staff including Josh, and the two younger gentlemen (didn't get their names) have been accommodating and pleasant each of the four times I've dealt with them. I even had someone back into my truck on accident (not staff), and they were quick to act, making sure if needed, a claim would be filed. So, obviously you are attempting to take something that does not belong to you which is call STEALING. And I had called personally to speak with the manger day's prior to let him know all my belongings.would be removed prior to the end date on my one month storage rental. Where to start. Thank god it was a free month because we rented a uhaul trailer cross country or I never would have lasted the month. There are soooo many trucks parked everywhere it is hard to drive around or park your vehicle. There was always a truck parked in front of all one side of the units. You had to call to say please move the trucks so I can load and unload stuff. Very inconvenient. We were going to sign on for a year but it is too busy in that lot and way too many headaches and besides we found a unit in town for half the price uhaul quoted me!
