The only negative thing I have to say is we couldn't find the key drop box when we returned the truck after hours. The website said it would be by the main entrance. My boyfriend and I wandered around for about 30 minutes trying to find it. I'll have to drive back there when it's open to drop off the key. Hopefully we aren't charged for this! The staff were so helpful and friendly. There was a hornet's nest at the top of my storage unit and I asked to have it removed. I assumed a pest service would take care of it one evening. Without hesitation the young man at the desk out with a stick in the daylight to knock it down. He didn't want me to have to wait to get into my unit safely. Now that's great customer service. We only closed our storage account to move north. Of course we rented a truck then a second from Uhaul to move all of our belongings. The fuel in the tank was lower than indicated on the contract I had signed before checking. Upon return, I was charged for 110 km more than I drove. Having not taken a photo (because I was running late, staying to address the fuel discrepancy) I could not contest and my employer (a non-profit foodbank) had to pay the extra amount.Mark R.

The problem I had was with scheduling and traffic. I was told I could pick up the trailer the day before by 7pm OR the next day around 8am. I could not get to another city (Stoney Creek) by 7 pm after work on Thursday through long weekend traffic so decided on Friday. Friday morning, I received an email as I was leaving to pick it up that my reservation had been cancelled because I did not pick it up Thursday. I called and with holding it too me 45 minutes and 2 people to get anywhere. Then, I was hung up on. So I called the SC location and in 15 minutes they fixed the reservation. They were fine. But we could not get approval to my nearby drop off store in Ottawa as reserved - Coventry Road. SC said call before I went to drop off. The person I spoke with finally was rude and said I should call during business hours. Then I was on hold. Supposedly for 35 minutes. Forget it. I went to the Innes Road store, 17 kms away rather than 6. Not happy. Drop off was fine. Nice uhaul/share system. So, all good except the logistics. Disappointed. God bless. JimJim R.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Our truck worked well for the most part except for the tow hual being stuck on causing the transmission to struggle, jerk and made the down shifting very rough. We told the tech tho on drop off and he was friendly and kindly took down our concerns.Cody L.

please ev1 be careful renting from u-haul if you rent 1 way drop and drop off were you moved your truck is not guaranteed i ended up having to get a truck 35 kms out of my way in stoney creek and then back then moved to Kitchener then made me take truck back to stoney creek then charged me $96 for fuel after i put $60 in after 3 days on the phone finally got refunded but if i had not called on the friday my move on saturday would have been a mess please read online contract they do not mention about the 1 way trip.. I was told that I would save $85 dollars to drop off at the Lakefield location from my rental but after getting my invoice this was not true. I feel that I was given the wrong information. The rental was also dirty on pickup and smelled really bad.ANDREWJOSEPH K.

Have used your vehicle transport trailers before and have always noticed that usually the trailers are decently kept but, the one that was given to me at my last visit was in very poor condition, tires were bald right to end of tread. Trailer was creaking and stiff when pulling without a vehicle loaded yet. Front straps were in poor condition and continuously came loose. rear ramps were sized.NATHAN M.

Through no fault of staff, the debit machine was broken so I had to use cash. I only had $45 and staff wanted a $60 deposit. I was in a bit of an emergency situation and staff allowed me to deposit my $45 (against policy) and I was able to do what was needed and returned the trailer a few hours later. Kudos to the staff for being flexible and NOT stuck to policy. Many thanks. I would suggest management positively profile the staff.thomas M.

We had multiple issues with booking and scheduling, first had an issue with a truck cancellation on uhauls end and phone rep only offered $50 refund or cargo van until pushed to rebook a truck that fit our needs. Then when we went on our moving day to uhaul and asked to book a cargo van as an emergency backup in case we weren't finished by first truck drop off time in the afternoon , in person rep told us it was booked but when we dropped our first van off to trade in for the cargo we discovered booking was made for wrong day and were then offered a 26 foot truck instead. Then the after hours return service was not working, so ultimately we got the job done however with a lot of added stress due to problems with booking. Manager offered a refund for our troubles however and made the situation right, so big thank you for thatCallum W.

Had to wait in line over a hour to rent a trailer. When I returned the trailer I had to wait over 40 min. Uhaul was a Very slow service. Not only that when I returned a trailer the last time i left something in the trailer, I tried calling to pick it up was on hold for 30min. Best service out of all Hamilton area locations. Always top notch customer service and a large inventory of equipment is available. I rented a 6x12 utility trailer , they tow very nice down the road and are built very solid.Jeffrey F.
I suggest to keep the parking lot clean and organised. Also, giving $50 for reservation guarantee is not sufficient to compensate the inconvenience. We got one size smaller which was double the work and two trip to complete the moving.Amit P.
Start all trucks completely full of gas. Makes filling up easier. I overfilled and I haven't been discounted on mileage or anything. I constantly checked as I was filling up to avoid overfilling, but the gauge stayed below half before I decided to just finish at $55; for 40 kms. When I restarted the truck, it ended up going up to 3/4 of a tank instead of the 1/2 I needed to have in there. State clearer on the website that the trucks that are priced per km are return rentals only. There was no drop box when I returned the truck. Walked around the entire building and was concerned I was going to be charged an extra use of day because I couldn't return the key to the proper spot; had to leave the key in the sun visor of the truck.JENNIFER M.

I expected a quick review of the truck since I had never driven one. However, I made out okay anyway. It would be easier if the truck was full and you had to return it full. Then there's no calculating to do. The way it's set up, I expect that customers return the truck with more gas than they started with which is a bigger deal now with the price of a litreARLENE C.

The entrance driveway @ Highland Rd needs the pot holes filled. This can cause vehicle tires to bulge & get damaged- can be dangerous ! The back RV lot also needs the low spots filled. There are many large puddles when it rains. Understanding that the premises is up for renovations but the pot holes & low spots are a simple fix to convenience customers.
