I booked a storage unit and was told that I was in their system for it but they didn't have a unit for me. They said that they could not help me I would have to call customer service. When I called customer service they tried to call the location and could not get in contact with they. I had to pay for a storage unit at a competitor. The truck (JH1836M) I got had a Exhaust leak. I unfortunately have COPD. As well as being on oxygen. I had to drive with the windows open. Which was fine The fumes weren't as bad with the windows open. I just wanted you to be aware of it. So that you can repair the leak.Bob M.

This app that is used to check in and out did not work for me. The manager had to scan my license when I picked up. Needless to say when I brought back the van, it would not let me check it in. I was charged for another additional day and $20.00 fee for the store checking it in. I do have to say when I called the next day to talk to someone about it, I was able to get back $58.00 after explaining the very complicated calculations to me. One of the questions on the survey should be, would I ever use this store again.Jeana M.
Better communication, upon check-in the attendant believe my equipment was under repair. He told to go ahead and complete the pick-up process if and any issues arise with the equipment comeback inside we will start the whole process over. I did mobile check-in to avoid long lines and delays. I said, I have a very short window of time and starting over would calls me to miss my appointment for picking up my personal equipment. Luckily, the only issue with Uhaul equipment was low tire pressure. It did in fact take me an extra 20mins for check-in.Jarrett H.

Have more customer service people. Don't have employees telling people that their cars will be towed, when it was lack of service causing them to be in the 15 minute check-in parking area over 15 minutes. Have more parking for day-use customers. Also, the employee that I saw said I didn't have a reservation when I did (had to show him my email from U-Haul). I also had to rent a larger truck than I reserved. If what people order isn't what they're going to get, they should get a discount of some sort. Other than that, it was pretty much what I would expect renting a truck.Aaron J.

The first truck that was assigned to me the mileage did not match the paperwork. I had to go in and tell the staff. They ran into a bunch of computer issues trying to get it changed. Both the guy helping me, Devid, and eventually the manager, Eric, ran into issues. I don't believe it was their fault. It seemed to be a glitch with the computer software. They tried to get me on my way the best they could, and I appreciated that, but the computer issue made the process a lot longer than it should have been.Derek W.

Terrible experience from start to finish. Followed the steps for a 24/7 pick up, but associates moved vehicles and keys, â€œsince they were open.â€ It was a circus trying to find the truck because they pointed to the back lot and said, â€œit's somewhere back there go find it.â€ Had to have them move two trucks to get ours out. The truck was clean, but a broken windshield and paint covering it. Also did not receive any of the rented moving equipment, but was told I could not get a credit since it was an online pick up. Could not return the truck with online prompts either because the store was open and associates wanted to have the keys. Will not be returning.Isaiah C.

The process to drop off the UHAUL was uncomfortable. The person taking returns just said to leave the keys in the truck and we were done. No confirmation that we filled the tank, and I was charged for an extra day. I have called UHAUL again to correct, and was told this correction was completed. I have to wait 3 - 5 days to see if the refund was actually processed.Michelle S.

Although UHaul assigned my truck pick up at another location several miles away, Eric called them and switched the pick up to his location. It was easy, the truck was clean, and we were on our way in 30 minutes. There were a lot of trucks, and a good inventory of boxes and supplies. I would recommend this location in Indianapolis. The facility was fine , but! I was forced to drive to another side of town to pickup my trailer. I made an in person reservation at the location on East Washington St. I was given a 11am pickup window and not once during my scheduling was it mentioned that I had to be there before a certain time. When I arrived to pick up my trailer it had already been rented out to a different individual. This was a very large inconvenience to me and I'm not sure I will ever use your company again.Ted B.

I reserved two units but only one was found when I arrived. The staff fixed it, no problem. Very helpful people but confusing storage access when cards and doors.Mindi P. | First Impressions
The check-engine light came on in the truck, so I called to see what to do about it. The only line on the phone tree that made any sense to report this to was the road-side assistance. I had to wait 10-15 minutes to talk to them (good thing it wasn't an emergency) and the person on the line said to bring the truck back in and they would swap it out with a different truck. When I got there, I was told that the check-engine light is always on in that particular truck and to just drive it with that light on. I complained that it was a waste of time and mileage for me to drive back to UHaul and be told to just live with it. I was told that when I bring the truck back after I'm done, I'd be compensated for some miles. I wasted 17 miles and probably 30-40 minutes making that unnecessary trip to UHaul, but all that the manager would give me was 15 miles off. Why have trucks that the check-engine light "is always on"? Why not tell users about that at the beginning, rather than wasting our time and mileage? Why not be a little more generous in compensating dissatisfied customers?Michael L.

Terrible experience from Uhaul personnel on the phone at both ends of the trip. Making reservations to pick up the box at both ends took days because no one answered the phone and it would roll over to a call center that was unable to actually do anything. On the day we picked up the full unbox it wasn't ready and the people that were supposed to help me didn't have fork lift certification to move the box. In the end the one person running the front counter got me the box after a 45 minute delay.Tracy S.

I've had issues with this U-Haul every time I've used it, from waiting in line an hour to pick up a vehicle only to have the reservation effectively shorted an hour, to extremely rude staff. I reserved a cargo van nearly a week ago, but had to take a pick-up today because my van had been given to someone else. If there were another U-Haul anywhere close, I'd never go back. Never had problems like this in other parts of town or even other cities.David J.

It was obvious no one had checked out the uhaul box truck prior to me renting it. As soon as I got in it a low tire message came on so I had to ask them to air up the tire. They didn't even check it for a leak and luckily for me it made it to Florida before the message of low tire came on again! I could have been stranded with a truck full of valuables .. Had reserved a 9:30am pickup time. Arrived at 9:15, but did not leave until aroun10:30. I understand everyone has busy days, and can be understaffed and overloaded. Most of the staff was very polite and apologetic about the delays. The manager on the other hand was very irritated and his attitude was rubbing off on everyone, including the customers. Very unprofessional!! Will avoid this location at all costs in the future. Very disappointed!!Jason C.

Deived Wilson went above and beyond in his customer service, even after the store was closed for the night. I accidentally locked the key in the truck after bringing it back. He completed my check out and arranged to get the truck open the next morning from his personal phone while in his car, ready to leave and off the clock. This guy deserves a huge raise. Upon move out, I asked for access which the female worker stated ahe couldn't help me, when I pick up a business card to call the GM (Eric Williams) she stated " no I'll call him" and proceeded to race me in dialing his number. From the minute I got there, the staff had no clue what units were available. I had a unit reserved and they said it was occupied. It took them 30 min tkk ok locate another one which ended up being two smaller units up a ton of stairs. They put me in 2 smaller units and sold me licks that apparently they don't approve of because every time I came to add or take away things there was an extra lock on my unit. When I went I ask about it they said it's because you have a lock that isn't approved. The lock they sold me and told me to use for my unit. I'm hey have no idea what's going on, what's available or how to maintain the availability. My experience was bad from the beginning. I arrived at 8am to get my rental and was told it was rescheduled to 12pm. When I arrived at U-Haul at 12pm I had to wait in a long line. When I finally got to the counter they told me my reservation was canceled. That got fixed and I was given a smaller truck than I had reserved. I requested a storage unit and was given a unit far away from the location I was at due to the employees credentials not being transfered to his new store. I made the arrangements for your storage unit at the same time i reserved a u haul rental truck. I was told at that time that the unit was on the first floor and the cost was $109.95 a month. When i went to the storage facility i was told the unit was not on the first floor and the cost for a unit was $129.95 a month for a unit on the first floor. I showed the gentleman my paperwork stating the quoted cost and explained i cannot do the stairs at my age and since there is no elevator i have to use a first floor unit. He told me the person i spoke with does not know this facility and does not know what are first floor units. I asked to speak with a manager and was told the manager was not there. I asked him to write down the name of the manager so i could call to get the pricing resolved. He did not do this. I am also unhappy that the first floor unit is smaller than the other one due to the ceiling height. The other issue is the lack of lighting in the unit. Horrible almost EVERYTHING! The fact i had to come back to fix a problem that should have been resolved the same day as it happened just by following the order of return but instead it caused a whole mess and a half and multiple trips and even more reversed payments and staff being embarrassing loud and over talking me when I was explaining things to my grandmother. But honestly If I hadn't kept my multiple original copies of the transactions I would most likely still be told the wrong information about the reversed transactions and made to think that I need to pay because I didn't pay for anything because I'm getting first months rent free when infact I had proof to prove them wrong and not end up getting overcharged. I reserved a Ubox and they did not jave one but failed to let me know in advance even after the fact that they had a note put in 2 days earlier that the customer should be notified since there was no uBox available. I drove with all my stiff for loading to the location to find that u box is not available. I was flying out the next day and hence had no alternatives . It would be very helpful if there was someone on duty in the office 24/7. That was the only real problem we ran into. We had questions only anon site employee could answer and there was nobody to talk to in the middle of the night when we were forced to do most of our moving due to work schedules. Otherwise it went smoothly except for the website is much too complicated for a first time user at 11pm at night plus the wait time to connect to a person is extreme not a fan of your web and app sites. Much more person to person contact needed. Talked me into renting with a free month. I told them my concern on late fees because I'm on a fixed income. Manager told me not to ever worry about fees since I am a veteran. Well then they made me pay late fees. Then up on my termination of the unit I attempted to rent a truck and they started telling me stories about when to have the truck back. The manager was so ambiguous that I informed him I was concerned about his behavior and would not be renting a truck. Another case of young thugs trying to take advantage of a senior citizen. The storage is very easy to access, the staff is friendly and we all receive an individual set of password to get in to the storage, which I think is safer. However, we are in the second floor, which is really hot and humid. But other than that I think is pretty goodYU-Tzu C. | First Impressions

I arrived to the property to ask about moving my storage to a smaller and cheaper one. I was told that I could not do that until I paid $104 for my current storage. Although my current storage was a free month when we moved in. I tried getting the manager Eric Williams to explain the free month process to me. He started being belligerent when I told home he wasn't explaining something right. He was beyond rude and very unprofessional. I couldn't understand what he was sayin so I walked out to leave. He followed me and my fiancé to our vehicle were he continued to use profanity yelling and screaming. Almost 10 minutes later employee Brittany called and said the manager Eric was evicting me same day and I had to move out. I waited 2 hours in line, where 1 person was at the counter complaining more about being the only person at the counter than actually trying to help people. Once I got to the counter, the rep wasn't able to process my payment for my time in the storage unit and asked me to leave and call another time. It was also extremely inconvenient to move heavy furniture to a second floor storage unit without an elevator.Spencer S. | First Impressions
I thought the online processes were going to be helpful, but it wasn't. I went into the rental office to get directions to my unit and make sure I had the right size and the gentleman that helped me acted like he was put out to help. I had rented the unit before the truck and after I rented the truck was given a month's free rent. When I went to get information on my unit and upgraded the unit I mentioned it and was asked if the truck rental was local or out of state and when I said it was local, the guy told me that it doesn't qualify! I came back in a couple of days later and started the online check in for the truck and when I went in the guy helping me had the wrong name and told me the rental was canceled and then he said my rental must not have gone through and was being argumentative about it. I had to pull up the text confirmation to get the truck! When I made the reservation I included a dolly and furniture pads and upon finishing the rental was told there isn't a dolly, I was refunded for it but still. The whole process was pressing! I went in the building to return the uhaul and was told to take the key outside and someone will get it then was told to pull up to equipment return and someone will check it in and send me a receipt. I sat there for 25 minutes and no one bothered to stop and speak to me until I decided to leave. The big units are upstairs when they should be on bottom floor. This place isn't ran well, the employees seem annoyed to be there. I won't recommend this place for anything.Kathryn G. | Online Move In

Eric is an angel and deserves a raise and like eight weeks of paid vacation. Kevin sucks, doesn't hold himself accountable, doesn't value clientele and he can go choke :)
