The truck had a myriad of issues, which I've submitted through uhaul service. It was a downright dangerous thing to drive between the alignment, shocks, soft tires and failing brakes. Hasn't been addressed in anyway after my submission so I'm not sure if this truck is in circulation still, but if you get a ten foot truck with torn seats, mirrors that wont budge and a broken drivers side sunvisor that occasionally blocks your view, politely decline and ask for another ride.Jonathan H.

Scheduled an online pickup that was supposed to be available 24/7. Got to the Uhaul place and could not get my uhaul because the store was not set up for 24/7 pickup. Had to rebook a new Uhaul for the following day. Picked up the Uhaul and drove it back to my place to move outâ€¦. there was a deadlock on the back of the truck that we never received a key for. Overall wasted about 4 hours of my moving time just troubleshooting Uhaul problems, on the phone with customer service etc. Terrible terrible establishment and business. The original location i was given was padlocked shut, i had to get an additional uber another 20 minutes away and was nearly an hour late for my movers. There was a padlock stuck on the back of my vehicle which I had to go out and purchase boltcutters to remove myself.Sarah E.

1) There was low tire pressure in one of the tires 2) The return process did not work. It failed to sense my location and would not let me proceed with uploading photos etc of the vehicle. 3) I still have not heard anything confirming the return of the truck nor received a bill even though I have been by the lot and seen that they have repositioned it from where I parked it with the other trucks. 4) The marked tank fullness upfront was higher than the actual tank fullness when I got in the truck by 1/8 tank.Henry U.
The people at the pickup location were super. The best. The scheduling call center was honestly horrendous. Incredibly unhelpful, had zero interest in helping. The woman I spoke with put less than zero effort into helping me solve issues or answer any questions. For scheduling and that call center alone, I will try to avoid UHaul in the future. My experience with the truck and moving help was great. However, upon arriving at the location I started the online checkin process, and located my truck in the parking lot. When I went inside to receive the keys, I was yelled at by the store associate that I needed to cancel my order because she had given the same truck to another customer who was making their reservation in-store. I told her j didn't see this option and that if she needed to reassign me she would need to do so on her end. She then told every one in the store to stop their online check in process because it would mess up their systems in-store. After about 15 minutes she was unable to reassign my truck and frustratedly gave me the keys. I was simply following the instructions given when I made my reservation, that the computer systems for both the online and in-store checkin should be able to handle people using both at once.Cara E.
I was really shocked at how unprofessional some staff members were at this location. When I arrived to pick up my truck, I waited close to half an hour when there was only 1 person in line before me. The staff member - who was working by herself - was joking out loud with another employee who claimed he didn't have anything to do and it was really off putting to see them not helping the people in line and still making a scene about how they had nothing to do/couldn't help anyone. When I return my truck I was charged double and had to get that fixed all the while each employee was badmouthing other employees not in the room about not knowing how to do their job. My favorite was when someone wasn't checking in the trucks and the employees said to each other, â€œHe must still be taking a shit.â€ Really awesome service from this location!Michael K.
I went to the address on my initial contract and they told me that I had the wrong place. I then had to pay for an uber to go to the location they told me (even though AGAIN I have the correct location on my receipt) and there was one clerk and 10 people in line. There was no equipment in the truck that I had rented. The only saving grace was the clerk who held her cool while some guy was giving her crap. A family member was able to change the email on my \ deceased uncle account and was able to gain access to my storage unit without my permission. and stole over 8k with of items without my consent. When I payed the overdue amount and cleaned out the storage and saw her info instead of mines. I was puzzled. the relative name or anything to give her access was not listed on the account at all. The counter person talked a little fast, but was trying to move quickly through a long line by alternating between computers. Some mix-up on location of vehicle. Nothing major. Also note- the sliding entrance door wasn't always opening from the outside. Sometimes people had to knock to get someone in line to come over and trigger the motion detector from the inside, so outside people could get in. Checking out afterwards was fast.Eric L.

The cell phone pick-up is awful. Everyone in line at customer service was waiting because it didn't work. Messages included " session expired" or "location not found" even when everything was updated. Several of us had uploaded licenses and that was not in the system either.Patricia M.

Made a reservation a month and a half in advance to pick up the truck in Newark, DE. Received a call from U-Haul the day before pickup that there are no trucks available in that area and I would have to travel 45 miles to a location in Lancaster, PA if I wanted a truck. Totally unacceptable and absolutely ridiculous. Why bother making a reservation in advance if they are not going to honor it? There is something terribly wrong with their system. The truck I was given had a broken locking mechanism for the 10' box. The key to the truck was broken and had to be jiggled for 1-2 minutes before finally turning on the truck. Worst experience i have had with Uhaul yetOrlando A.
I returned the van that I rented an hour before my time was up and with a full tank of gas. My total charge should have been around $50-60, but my receipt listed that I returned it four days after I actually did, with less than half a tank of gas, and I was charged $225. Person we returned the equipment to was on their phone, not very interested in interacting with us. Also the person we picked up the utility dolly from did not acknolwedge us and just nodded his head to where we needed to go. When I arrived no one was there to greet me. I entered where there was a pick up location. a person came out and yelled at me to move across the street. I went across the street and no one was there. I waited 15mins for someone to show up. Finally two young men showed up said to leave the key in the cup holder and to leave. It was 4:10pm on a Sunday and they were closing up for the day. I said that I should get paperwork that I returned it with the proper gas and it was in the same condition and they said I would get an email. I received an additional charge and I don't know what that is for? This is unacceptable. They had the truck running for awhile why it was sitting there. The only thing that was a headache was the closing of the account. After we met with the agent to close the account (11/17) we continued to get notices for invoicing and late notices from Uhaul because the on site staff hadn’t inspected the unit. I am very disappointed in UHaul, this facility and the false advertising. I am also disappointed with this facilities inability to be loyal to its long-time customers. My parents have had a storage unit at this facility for over 10 years. I need a smaller unit now and I reserved one online. It never said the unit was obstructed online but when I was shown the unit in person there was a HUGE column right in the middle of the unit!! This unit is un-useable. Such false advertising and so I ended up having to purchase a much more expensive one and no one was willing to give me a discount since I was expecting to be paying the price of the falsely advertised unit. Also, there is even further false advertising online when it said I qualified for one free month of storage but when we came to pick up the truck, we were told that that does not apply to this facility. Again, no one was willing to honor what we saw online (and I have printed proof of the advertising). We tried to resolve these conflicts by asking for a manager but we were told that the man who manages this facility would not help us out. Took me an hour and fifteen minutes to get storage unit check-in situated and am being charged $15 more per month for my unit than what I had reserved. The day I was moving out the freight elevator stopped working. I had hired movers and had to pay them at least an hours more work because of that. My attempts to get a refund with the storage facility staff and customer service was time consuming and to no avail. Additionally, when I closed out my storage unit the staff did not close it out, I called several days later and they assured me I was all set. When I called about a different issue a week later they told me my unit was still active. If I had autopay set up I would have been charged for another month a week after I closed out. I spent over an hour trying to check in for my storage unit reserved 5 weeks ago. I was shown a unit completely different than what I reserved online and was subsequently told the unit I reserved online did not exist. I was forced to take the unit given due to an impending move. I’ve had my items stored at this location for years. Unfortunately, when I recently went to take stuff out of my unit I found people camping outside of it. I reported this to the staff, who did not seem to concerned but assured me the people would be removed. When I went back the next day, my lock had attempted to be broken and I could not get the key in. Again, staff did not seem concerned about the attempted break in. I was told they’d look at security footage, but never received any follow up. In speaking with the manager, Andrew, this situation seemed more like a nuisance to him that a real problem that people were living in his building and attempting to break in to units. I moved my stuff out ASAP and will never ever store there again, nor will I recommend this location to anyone. Stay away!!Erin P. | Overall Experience
This U-Haul location seems to have a significant rodent problem. We found many (at least 50 if not more) rodent droppings on our stuff when we moved out. In addition, when we were all moved out of the storage unit I got verbal confirmation from the clerk that I was all set and that we'd get a confirmation email within a few hours. This did not happen and 2 days later they attempted to hit us with an additional month's payment and a late fee. While I was able to revert these charges after coming back in, I worry that this may be a deliberate attempt to get additional money out of clients. This location was also not willing to give us the 1-month free U-Haul promotion at first and we only got it after lengthy phone calls with customer service. So far, the vast majority of my interaction (3 related to truck rentals and 2 related to a storage unit) with U-Haul has been disappointing as their lack of incompetency has surprised me in a different manner every time - I really ought to learn my lesson..Sebastian S. | Overall Experience

During the drive-over (One-Way from Ithaca to Philadelphia) we had gotten confirmation that while we couldn't drop off our U-Haul trailer at this Philadelphia location, we could still store our things here and then drop it off at the next Philadelphia location. We got oral confirmation from both locations that the 1-month free storage promotion that U-Haul was advertising for all one-ways applied. After we arrived, we got a quick walkthrough by one of the store clerks of the storage unit we'd be using and got another oral confirmation of the promotion from her. But then, as we were about to sign the contract, the other store clerk denied that the promotion applied and that any oral confirmation had occurred. At this point we had already partially unloaded. After a long period of time (about 1 hour), we finally got U-Haul customer service to reach the location's manager who confirmed that the promotion obviously applied thereby resolving our dispute. We have no idea why the other clerks were so adamant that it didn't apply. Were they attempting to use the time constraint and our partially unloaded stuff as leverage to hold us up and force us to just sign and pay? We will never know, but their rude demeanor about us just wanting to resolve the situation was unacceptable. This long delay forced us to rush as fast as we could with the unloading process (and the delivery of the trailer to the other U-Haul location since this one didn't accept any for some reasons) to finish everything before the storage doors closed at 5pm.
