Normally this location is pretty good, but this time I returned the truck early and then I was charged for turning it in late. Very frustrating for a customer having to spend time calling and getting it corrected.Jamie F.
I have used Uhaul's Ubox 3 times before and have loved the service, sadly my latest experience was absolutely terrible and Uhaul should be ashamed of their business practices. On the day my Ubox was to be delivered I received no phone call notifying me that my delivery would be delayed. It took hours upon hour sof me calling in hopes to figure out what was going on. The next day I was hoping to finally reach someone and still no one could provide any answers. It took me physically going to a Uhaul store to understand what had happened. I was then left with the only option to move the Ubox myself (instead of having it delivered and picked up like originally planned). So I was charged for delivery and pick up, yet I had to move and the Ubox myself after purchasing a toe hitch and making a lot of arrangements. The part that is the most upsetting is that I had to put in more than 4 hours of work just to figure out what was going on. No one from Uhaul called to notify me of what was happening. Despite many positive experiences I will strongly consider other option because this move was made more stressful due to the lack of communication and information.Mikena M.

This experience was honestly terrible because I booked a reservation for Swannanoa River Road location, but was told when I arrived that I had to go to Sweeten Creek. Due to the extra distance and the horrible traffic, the location change added 1.5 hours onto my day. If this happens again with the location switch, I will never rent u-haul again.Leland D.

After our original location was closed and posted a sign stating not taking any trailer drop-offs, we had to try 3 different locations and spoke to 5 separate U-Haul customer support individuals before we could actually drop off at the Sweeten Creek location. We reserved a truck weeks before our moving day. When we went to the location I reserved online, I only found that u-haul changed the location to a different one and didn't even show on my email until that morning. Then when I went to the other location to pick up, it was not ready. And the associated started cleaning the truck while we were standing there. Our movers were waiting at my house(we lost $30 for movers because of that) then when I told the associate about that she apologized and rushed the process. We also rented an auto transport and had to cancel that because we were delayed with our moving and our movers from other state were waiting for us, we didn't have time to go back to the pick up location to hook up the trailer. We had to come back the next day, drove 3 hours back and forth, of course with two cars, lost our gas and time so much. Because we had trouble with returning the truck, we asked the associate while we were back in town about where to drop it off, but the place we were advised went out of business. I could not access the building to move in at 7PM. I called the manager and got a voicemail. Then I texted the number but she responded that she was on leave. I then had to ask her for the backup contact, she did not initially supply the information. Thankfully Steve was immensely helpful and figured out that our access was for "store hours only." Once he fixed this we could enter the building but the sliding doors were locked. We had to move mattresses and a couch through the man door. 2 staff workers called the police on my wife for voicing her opinion about the service and conflicting employee understanding of a policy as we were told. The two employees were very disrespectful and started taping us with their phones and refused to finish offering service. At that time we were told we were trespassing pointed towards my wife. Though we have rented units, trucks and bought packing equipment from u-haul, we will never use u-haul for anything again. We waited for the police to arrive (while being told we were trespassing as we waited by the two staff members). We appreciate the Asheville Police Officers service and seeing the silliness of the incident. With increased crime in this area such an inappropriate use of the Officers service. Everything was excellent. The only part I don't like is that U-haul does not prorate the bill. I no longer needed my unit, as I rented a larger unit elsewhere and combined my things. I had three weeks left before my next bill was due, and now someone else can rent it free for thirty days. U-haul's 30-day rent-free policy is misleading in some cases like mine. I already paid full rent and 3/4 was remaining. I should be refunded ~ $96.75 and U-haul should let the new customer rent for 30 days free, as per the policy and not on my dime.karen m. | Overall Experience

I changed my return reservation to this location due to the friendliness of the staff and how the facility appeared while researching online compared to other facilities. When dealing with staff at my pick up location, it was a horrible experience and if I hadn't needed to use their service, I would have walked out and I have rented from uhual SEVERAL times in the past. The truck had issues and had a gas issue. It cost me over $1,100 in gas to drive 3200 miles in a 20ft truck which is completely unheard of. I have made this trip several times and NEVER had the issues I had this time. Pick up staff didn't care about the truck and it's gas (and break) issues and hung up on me. The staff here, though they couldn't do anything to change what happened on the west coast, were very sincere and very kind. Their storage units are clean and climate controlled and VERY secure. The cost per storage room is extremely high. The cost of the unit should include basic insurance coverage, it is unreasonable to require additional insurance be purchased.
