Once again, I was pleasantly surprised by the ease with which I was able to reserve, pick up, and return a vehicle from U-Haul. U-Haul has made great use of technology to make the process quick, transparent, and error-free. Additionally, I was impressed with how U-Haul changed my reservation to the next closest location when my requested vehicle wasn't available at my first-choice location. The fact that a customer cannot rely on equipment (e.g. hand trucks, appliance dollies, etc.) reservations is absurd. The location had no utility hand trucks, and only two of the four furniture dollies I requested. You need to remove that feature from the rental process because it's BS in the end anyway. Even the clerk said that those reservations are just a placeholder for whatever the U-Haul center _may_ have in stock.DAVID B.

The location was understaffed with only one employee behind the counter. This lead to massive delays and a line of angry customers out the door. When I finally got my keys, I found my truck which was parked with approx 1â€ clearance from the truck next to it making for a nerve-wracking departure.Tyler O.

Your process for returning a vehicle was difficult and inconvenient. I rented a Penske truck and it was extremely easy. You should make your return process a bit simpler. Also the office is so busy you seem short staffed and should hire an extra front desk person. I had to wait about 30 mins. The front desk girl was super busy and doing a great job at juggling her tasks. To rent a van and storage space took at least an hour. Moving is stressful enough.LAUREN D.

Service was nice, though only one counter person resulted in wait time. My cargo van had 1129 miles on odometer when picking up, and fuel gauge was showing quarter tank left. 2 miles later at 1131 the gauge was showing 1/8 of the fuel less. I ended up giving the van back with half the tank. I didnt get credit for extra fuel and manager couldnt explain why the fuel gauge went down 1/8 of the scale after 2 miles. I have a picture to prove it. Disappointed I got screwed on fuel.PETER S.

Before purchasing a ball mount for my hitch, this web site told me that a 1-7/8" or 2" ball hitch was allowed for a ramp trailer. When I went to pick up the trailer, the location manager said he only allowed trailers towed with a 2" hitch, so I had to buy one there. This means either this website or the location manager was wrong.MATTHEW C.

Cargo van, offer a choice between GMC or Ford. GMC side doors only open to 90 degrees while the Ford has a release that allows them to open 180. This makes it easier to load and unload with a fork lift.TERRY B.

I had to get my drop off location changed because the first location refused my drop off, saying they were closed. I talked to the owner of the garage and he was rude, not helpful at all, and told me it was my fault for not reading the fine print in the app, that is was my responsibility to review drop off locations to make sure that they are open on the day I want to drop off. Although the day was salvaged by the help I received at the Saddle Brook location, the experience at the original drop-off location has made it so that I will no longer be using U-haul in the future.Kenneth S.

The U-Haul company is crooked and post a rate one time 15 minutes later go back and try and get the same rate and oh no that's no longer available they say the upper rate almost double the price is what the price is now. I would never use U-Haul if you have a choiceSTEVEN L.

Get your story straight. My initial reservation was for 9pm on Friday. I drove 30 minutes after receiving not one, but TWO confirmations that I'd be able to get my truck. Once there, the mobile check in directed me to wait until the location opened at 7am. I was on a VERY tight schedule and by the time I got a rep on the phone it was past 9:30 and I'd missed my scheduling window. The rep assured me that they would get me a different but workable truck for the next day and that they'd apply the $50 reservation guarantee to my reservation because again - I drove 30 minutes out to pick up a truck that I never got and then 30 home. Uhaul wasted a full hour of my time with this reservation and the rep told me I'd get the $50 guarantee without issue. When I went to get my (incorrect) truck the next day, they told me no, the $50 wouldn't apply and when I spoke to customer service they told me the location manager had to â€œapproveâ€ it. How does it make sense that the location that caused the problem in the first place gets to decide how to fix it?? Absolutely ridiculous. The only reason I even allowed the first rep to change my reservation to the next morning was because he assured me the $50 would apply. The check in person was lovely, his name was Devin and I can't say enough positively about him, but the rest of this location was just bad. Total lack of responsibility and accountability. You facility had a roof leak and damaged my items. I was told it my problem because I didn't have separate insurance. I really don't care what the contract says. You have a building that's not maintained and that should not be my problem. I lost three months of Rent payments and thousands of dollars because I have to throw out all my items from the damage.
