Rude staff that did not make eye contact. Was charged for an extra day after having to return uhaul 3.5 hours after the time it was due. check in early morning went relatively smoothly but when returning the truck early afternoon there was no one in the store to assist, I waited over 20 minutes, talked to another customer that was very upset on how long they had been waiting, I had to go find someone in the parking lot to return the keys.Michael M.

Gas issues are becoming a major issue. The truck was picked up and it read below what the paperwork said was in the truck. So we took a video of the difference, which was really small, and the mileage before starting the truck and leaving the parking lot. When we returned it with the same gas that was in it to begin with, the guy charged me an extra 36 for gas because it was a sliver below the 3/4 full mark. In fact it was more than when we picked it up. I showed my video to prove the error and the guy did reverse the charges but after being incredibly rude. Definitely not the experience I am used to. Just keep the trucks on full, have them returned full, and no one gets accidentally overcharged because you all are trying to figure out which line the needle is closer too. And customer service was not on todays employees to do list. He obviously didn't want me there.Brandy W.

Jennifer Strout was our U-Haul agent at the Saco Maine location. We are moving and this was our first time renting a 15 foot truck. She did an incredible job walking us through the process. She was so helpful and pleasant to work with!Brian M.
I put 0ver 2( dollars in gas in vehicle only went Just over 40 miles and was charged 27.50 because it didn't read a quarter but gauge didn't move a when I put that in so why even bother I basically paid 53 dollars for gas that is Tory in except-able. Long line with only one rep helping customers. My van was not ready after I checked in with the rep. The fuel was lower than what was documented. The fact that then I have to bring the van back with the exact fuel is horrible policy unless the tank starts out full. It's a giant pain to have to pump exactly what was in the tank when you picked it up, in order to not feel like you are getting ripped off by filling it up when UHall won't credit you for the extra gas you put in.Scott H.

Upon returning my truck on 5/24 (which I had reserved from 5/23 to 5/25), I was charged an extra $40 for being a day late. I told the rep and showed her my contract and she told me I had to get a refund from the manager (Jennifer), but she wouldn't be in until the next day. It has now been several days and no response or refunding of my $40. Certainly don't recommend Uhaul.....painful at best.... FredFred M.

While the pickup and drop off process was quick and easy. No complaints there. People at both locations were very friendly as well. However this truck was a VERY noise ride. The cab noise was so load on the highway I ended up putting ear plugs In. The ride was also rough. We felt every bump in the road. Made for a very long ride. Uhaul really sucks now. Your only saving grace is that you are the last man standing. You seek add-on after add-on, you do a shameless insurance grab, and your pickup and dropoff procedures are beyond painful. The cost per day is fine, but the cost per mile is absurd. The rental process is unnecessarily complicated. Having to wait and wonder if/when you'll get a call from the reservation manager, when you have already reserved online is ridiculous. And doing the check-in online ahead of time actually lost us time at the location rather than saved time. The whole process seemed way more complicated and time-consuming than it needed to beRich P.

When placing an order for a rental truck it would be nice if you would put the items ordered with it in the truck. And have some sort of a lock box outside that opens with a code to pick up the key. You're charging me for a full tank of gas when I returned it with a little over half. I took it (and uploaded the pic) with half a tank and actually gave back a bit over half. Your rep says they have the pic of the return fuel level but somehow not the pic of the fuel level when taking the van. That's really a convenient excuse to steal my money, U Haul.Vanessa M.

The representative I worked with was very rude. When I arrived she informed me that the reservation that I had made over the phone for that morning was made for that night and there was nothing available. She said I must have done it online and they have been booked for a week. She made no apologies and was abrupt and rude. Then eventually offered a van to me, which I took. I informed her that I would take the van but the error "was not ok" She said it was the error of the call center and still made no apologies. She was harsh and rude. I booked the after hours 24x7 pickup for 8 am on 5/1. Checked the night before with the uHaul app and watched the video etc on how to pick up before the office was open. Arrived at 7:45 and upon trying to pick up the system (iOS app and the website) both have an error message that the reservation had been switched to pickup at counter - which didn't open until 9am. Came back at 8:55, facility was already open and 4 people were ahead of me in the line. The lady that helped me was very apologetic and helpful, but this delay caused me to loose 90 minutes on a busy morning and miss a planned breakfast with my family. Not sure if there was a system glitch but evening getting an email the night before would've saved me this frustrating experienceBrian L.

I had paid for a dolly to be included with the rental. When I picked up my dolly on Friday (3/4/22) at your Sanford location there was no dolly in the uhaul. This error set me back a day in my moving process as I needed the dolly to move appliances. I then spoke with a very kind lady through customer service who agreed that was unfavorable and offered an additional day for free. The very next day I was being harassed by I believe your general manager of maine or something. It was a woman. She actually threatened my wife and I and said she would track us down to return the truck. After this threat we frantically returned the truck to the lot that night. Somehow in your system it says I owe an outstanding balance to you. Even though I have a bank statement as proof that I was charged. uHaul had setup auto pay for our storage unit, that way once the free month was over it would automatically bill us. uHaul failed to bill us for July and August. Forcing our account to show as unpaid. Despite a $2 authorization charge showing on our bank statement - clearly showing that uHaul had access to bill our account. The staff @ Saco U-Haul was great, and the facility is really nice U-haul had an issue in that it confused me with somebody else in their system and initiall prevented the rental from going through, but when the standard customer support from U-haul was evidently failing, the staff reached out "behind the scenes" to expedite the resolution and bring it to a great conclusion - they saved the day and made my experience a positive one.Jeff J. | First Impressions

Jen Strout was great however, this facility needs more staff. I have had issues with a truck not being available when I reserved it, having their systems down when I wanted one and although it was there, they could not rent because they could not get into the computer. I would not use the auto payment system for storage lease again as I have had an issue with it. Also I can NEVER get anyone on the Phone causing me to have to go in person and wait in a long line to speak with someone as only one person is working there. There was a disconnect with corporate U Haul and the Saco U Haul with every purchase we made Ordered a truck through corporate, changes to made to drop off location by corporate with subsequent un- known changes to pick up and need for us to drive to Freyburg (2 hours away 1 way) to get our truck. Saco was unable to help. I paid a trailer hitch 1 x through corporate, not received in Saco, and 2 x at the Saco office (?credit card machine not working, they never called me back but froze my account).
