There is nowhere to leave your car on site. You have to go to another business on this busy street to leave your car then walk back to uhual. Very unacceptable as uhual is not cheap to rent from in the first place. You advertise these low prices for a truck but by the time you ad on insurance, pay for the kilometre which is outrages, replace the fuel and ad taxes that $29 truck ended up costing 107. Next time I will go to another rental company to see if they offer any free kilometres with their vehicles

I was accused when I arrived of having the uhaul “rotten” when I dropped it off this morning. There absolutely were a few small items there but nothing more that was in it when I picked it up. I was told that I had to clean it out , so I had to drive all the way home again, sweep it out which took 2 minutes and then drive all the way back, all this while there was a broom right at the kiosk that I could have used for 2 minutes. I thought this was absolutely pathetic and the way I was told about how_”rotten “ it was made me feel like I was being scolded. I was not told when I picked it up that it had to be swept out upon return because I would have absolutely done this, just didn’t see the big deal as the two times I have rented there in the past month they were certainly not spotless by no means . This was no big deal to me as when I got home I gave it a quick sweep out. Then when I got back the second time after having wasted another hour of my day I was told that I would have to go inside because my credit card was declined , once again I was made to feel like a fool in the parking lot . I have always gotten good service in the past and actually said that to the manger when I was in last time and there was another customer losing it. Now I wonder if this customer may have had the same type of poor service I received this morning at my drop off. Anyways, I run a business myself and I pride myself on good customer service, it goes a long way. I felt this morning as if I was spoken to like a child and because of that I have had my last visit to this location .

It was a Sunday afternoon, maybe that's why there was only one person working behind the counter. However, it took me 45 minutes waiting in a line to get to the counter... that took 1 hour off the time of my pickup... so 24 hours went to 23 hours... Very slow service.

My pick up was during a system wide computer glitch and took a bit longer than usual. The staff dealt with a number of customers, appologizing to everyone for the problems. There were some "unhappy" and rude customers, including one who was swearing. The staff maintained a professional attitude and really went above and beyond to try to accommodate as many as possible.

After hours (mobile) pickup was quite frustrating. I suspect the system is great when it works properly...but I encountered issues with authorization. Took multiple attempts, and approx. 45 minutes (while I was on a tight timeline. It seems it was all due to the restriction on my drivers license indicating I require corrective lenses while driving...and it’s misinterpretation. It took 3 different customer service agents to get it right, and all through online chat, as I was unable to find a phone number to call for after hours help. Unfortunate, as otherwise the online pickup seemed like a useful tool.

Overall great experience. Staff were knowledgeable and friendly. When I did the walk around, the lot attendant asked “did you purchase the insurance?”, I said that I did. He said “no worries on the walk around”, “as long as you don’t bring her back with the roof curled up, you’re good”. Lol

Have the gas tank full when the truck is picked up. It's easy to just top it up again. I used the estimated amount and the needle never budged after 2 minutes of waiting. I had to put in another $10 and it shot up to almost full (well over where it was initially). In short, U-Haul got a lot of free gas from me. Add to that I needed two trips because the 17ft I booked was not available and I could only use a 15ft, my cost went up by another $15. Great scheme.

This was the worst rental experience I've ever had, the only decent part was the one lady who I originally dealt with. I was rented the oldest most beat up trailer in the yard, it smelled foul, the doors didn't stay open it wasn't what I intended to rent. Then I purchased some moving boxes which I was told if I didn't use them just to bring them back and get my money back, the arrogant man who served me When I returned the trailer was useless, he wouldn't let me return the boxes without the receipt which would have been decent to tell someone and then he made a poor effort to even try and find a receipt. I then told hike about the trailer being in such terrible shape and he didn't care. I have always relied on u haul and now I have been let down.

I was charged an extra $15. for insurance when the RBC Platinum card I used to pay my bill also covered insurance on the rental. Also I was charged an extra $25. because there was some dust left on the floor of the truck,I asked if there was a broom I could borrow and was told no and there wasn't any place that I could sweep the truck. It would have been nice to know that I could not leave my car on the U Haul lot while I used the truck. I booked the vehicle online and no where does it state you could not leave your car on the lot. This was only advised to me when I was being checked in. I had to return home and get someone to bring me back making me lose an hour.

The check in agent was very friendly, polite and professional. The return process was terrible. I waited in the drop off area as instructed for almost 25 minutes. Three employees walked past me at least a dozen times and was not acknowledged once. I finally had to work over to a employee and told him I have been waiting for 25 minutes and need to leave as I had an appointment. He said well we are busy and you need to wait and was very rude and abrupt. I was very upset being spoken to in this manner. Very poor customer service and certainly was not happy about this experience.

Service was quick, however, we found the employees rather curt and impolite at times. Found we were rushed through the process. The experience could have been more pleasant. Also, didn’t appreciate having to take my personal vehicle off the lot while renting one of the vans for a couple of hours, especially with it raining. Plus, it is the Easter weekend, and after asking if they were open on Easter Monday, the response was, we work 364 days a year, we are an essential service. Perhaps if your employees had better hours, they would be more personable with your clients. We got the job done, but employees seemed overworked, getting the job done but in a cool, matter of fact state.

There was a billing error that was system generated. I drove the vehicle for 60km. The rate was $0.59 /km, but the system generated invoice calculated this at $57.00 rather than $35.40. I did receive a credit, but this is something that UHaul should look into further.

Every time I fueled up I could smell gas so I despised to get up and underneath the truck and had a friend look at the tank which it’s drake was soaked with gas meaning you could smell gas I have the receipts in which I paid over 390 dollars in fuel yes I had a lot of mileage but I’m pretty sure gas shouldn’t match the mileage you had

There were discrepancies in the mileage, fuel, and the day rate upon return. It wasn’t exactly the streamlined process I had hoped for. The vehicle wasn’t ready as promised at the pickup time and the overall service attitude was curt to say the least. You’re not the only game in town.

No customer parking, you rely on using other neighboring parking lots for customers, not cool... Lobby blocked by cardboard boxes, made it awkward when access the customer service desk and returning to entrance. Customer service was great, with all 3 people I dealt with.

This was my first experience with U-Haul so I can't compare the location to any other. However, service was great, The employees were friendly and very helpful, even when I had to call several times to check out info that I had been given by other people. Overall it was a satisfactory experience. However, parking space to leave personal vehicle would be good .

Was given a larger vehicle, too big for the materials I was moving. This vehicle cost 2times the amount in gas, slipped out of drive to 3rd at almost every bump and wouldn't go in reverse. The tow light kept going off and on causing the vehicle to jump back and forth.

I was issued a $25 certificate (Certificate number: D48CBFFE Amount: 25.00 CAD Active on: 3/4/2019) by UHaul Cares but was informed on check out that it was only worth $18.65 ~). Also; I was required to purchase a wiring extension in order to connect the trailer lights. Customers should not have to pay for safety accessories. Wiring from any of your trailers should be of sufficient length to attach to customer vehicles. At the very least; customers should be informed in advance that additional wiring may be necessary.

The hours of operation could be improved. Perhaps consider staying open later Saturdays and especially Sundays to accommodate those moving. A 5pm closing is too early when you're moving! :)
