Uhaul made my moving so easy and stress free. The staff was so helpful especially changing my delivery date for the u box. Loading instructions were clear and very useful. The location is not in a nice area. When I returned the vehicle, I locked the keys in the vehicle because there was no drop box for the keys. I was charged a lost key fee of $100. The key was not lost. I also mistakenly left one empty coffee cup and a few napkins in the vehicle(otherwise the vehicle was as clan as when I picked it up) and was charged a cleaning fee of $150. I was on a flight home and was not available not receive the call but was left an ugly message about the lost key fee and the cleaning fee. I tried calling back to discuss this but was never able to get through via phone. We have always had great experiences with Uhaul but this experience has made us think about using another company if the need arises.TAYLOE C.

Overall, the staff and management have proved top-notch, visit upon visit. Most specific comments of items needing attention are those primarily involving fellow customers and the need for professional services, beyond the staff. Cart availability was an issue. There were numerous times when upon arrival for a segment of my move(s) - there were no carts to use [three storage units filled and vacated within two month period, over numerous segments]. When a truck is rented and a crew is hired and on hand, that complicates and increases the cost and stress of moving significantly. Solution may include more carts (with tracking chip???), especially given the number of units housed at this location; and, reinforcement of the cart honor system through signage at each floor's elevators to take only carts actively in use use (no storage between trips), return carts to cart parking upon each storage departure (not abandoned on unit floor), and programmed panel reminders with each card swipe (check-in, each elevator swipe, check-out). #1 - Storage facility well-lit: All well-lit though designers/architects/electricians would have done well to include some motion-censored level of lighting per unit. #5 - Facility clean and well maintained: Plumber needed for bathroom toilets. Always clogged. Too low flow for 'public' use. 5th FLR, where my units were, has concrete deterioration in patches along the walkway making for sections of gravel path which the carts are hard to roll over. The u-box driver who delivered the boxes damaged my neighbor's tree. That was clearly an accident but I had to coordinate apologies etc. Then my u-boxes were not picked up on the day that they were supposed to be picked up despite multiple calls by me to the store. The driver told me that 2 other drivers had called out and he was over hours. I had to get a city permit for the boxes and the permit expired that day, so the company placed me in violation of city laws. Finally when the boxes were picked up a day late the driver checked in the incorrect number of boxes as full. In total I have spent hours on the phone correcting the store and center's mistakes. Would never recommend this experience to anyone.josephine N.

The ramp did not work on the vehicle. It was broken and would not come out. I hurt myself trying to get it out. I called the location and told them. They were unapologetic and unhelpful, telling me I would need to come back or call roadside assistance. I called roadside assistance who quoted me more than 2 hours and explained to the location that I was already 45 minutes away and could not come back and still complete my move. They also said they didn't have a replacement truck for me and I couldn't go to another uhaul and get a different truck. The service provided was rude at best and argumentative. I called customer service as well to no avail, telling me I had to take the truck back and then getting a further attitude with me when I asked for supervisor. Ultimately the location agreed to remove $50 from the bill, however upon receiving my final receipt, the $50 was not removed.ANDREW K.

Lots of confusion. I used the container as storage in my driveway. Uhaul tried picking it up when it wasn't supposed to be then had it listed as picked up and stored at their facility when it wasn't. Didn't pick it up when they were supposed to and charged me an extra month's rent. Took me about 2 hours on the phone to get it straightened out. Overall not a great experience.thomas G.
I don't write reviews but this was the worst experience I've had in a long time. I wasn't notified that my appointment had changed and I had to pick it up at a different location. I only found out after going to the first location. If I was notified I would've cancelled the appointment and found a different solution because it made no sense for my purposes. However, because I found out in real time, I kept it because I had a limited time window and no time to find a different truck. So I ubered across town to the other location, past the Home Depot I was getting the truck for in the first place (meaning I could've just gotten a truck there). At the second location, I was the only person in the shop but still waited about 10 minutes for the cashier to acknowledge me. I asked if I could at least change the drop off location to the original location and they told me no because it was within the same city (Someone on the phone later confirmed this is a policy, which is also preposterous). This of course added miles and additional gas on both ends of the trip that I had to pay for (on top of the $30 in ubering that it took to go to and leave a location far from my house). And then when I got home I was charged for 30 miles (the attendant just told me to leave the keys in the car). I didn't do my due diligence and look at the odometer so that's on me but that was much larger than I was expecting as well. This cost me more than twice what I was expecting, and none of the people I talked to even attempted to assist me. Really just abysmal all around.Zachery M.

Employees at Oregon Ave location are great. Alicia, William and Regina worked to solve a bunch of problems that occurred throughout the process. The record keeping is a bit disorganized but it is a busy location. We understand and would recommend the U-Box service to others. On a side note the bathroom at the location was always clean and the store was nice. - that makes a difference when you come a long way and then are there waiting.Nicholas J.
Where do I start with the incompetency of this facility? In order to get someone's attention, I took my credit card off auto-pay to make a payment late. I received an email for just that. But even then my questions are not answered and proper order still not placed. I get an email that I will get a call to discuss, that never came. After finding out the boxes are listed at the facility instead of at my house.(where they were dropped off and have been for 2 months) To place the pick up order, they asked for my credit card # since it was not on file. I said no, I will not be charged for your mistakes. It took 4days for them to get them. BUt first, they went to my OLD address and texted me I was not home & they didn't see boxes. After the got them I was contacted to pay $139 for this pickup, I said no, I want receipts of all my transactions emailed to me like I asked I want to go over all of them. I STILL have not been credited for boxes I ordered but did not use. I would call back on Monday. NOW, I see I have been charged another monthly rental fee for the boxes they just picked up today. This was UNAUTHORIZED I did not give them my credit card number nor was it currently on file with them. I am now trying to get my money back and was told by customer service I have to go thru Riverview to do this. This will be another idiotic disaster. During this, I opened a customer action file #3426449. I am also calling corparate customer service to see if I can get cooperation there. This started out to be a pleasant & amooth expirence, but after a driver "got lost" picking up boxes from address I was moving from, It started to spiral down hill. I am glad the boxes with my belongings were at my current address, I may have lot everything if they were not. The 1-800-go-uhaul customer service did helped me. I felt bad calling them so much, but Riverview has very poor communication with you and by my expirience their poor driver that get sent all over to deliver and pick up "ghost" boxes. Customer service was unclear about needing a trailer to return Uhaul and I was forced to rent an additional truck as a result. Did also not communicate that permits are needed for overnight 24 hour drop off and so I had to hire movers to move same day. Was lucky enough to find movers but was essentially charged double and Uhaul never even dropped off container in the first place. Uhaul in Seattle dropped off and picked up same day. Not sure why this one could not. Overall would not Uhaul again for moving logistics.BRYANT J.

Received an uncomfortable and angry phone call from an employee after dropping off U-Haul. I followed the instructions prompts through my online account, which stated to simply park the truck in the lot in a spot that was not blocking any entrances or exits. So we parked the truck in the line of parking spots we picked it up in, and took a picture of the parking location and uploaded it as described in the instructions, followed my putting the key in the drop slot. The employee called and stated they had no idea where the truck. I told them which parking spot and that we had submitted photo, after which they kept telling me I was wrong and should never do that again. I apologized and simply said I was following the instructions, but he kept repeating that I was in the wrong in an aggressive manner. He said it had to go in a Return Lane, which the instructions made no mention of. Clearly there is a discrepancy between the online instructions and the on-site expectations for a return. These should be amended, otherwise I imagine the conflict therein will continue to be taken out on customers simply following drections.Elaine D.

i don;t know why I even bother sending this, i have filled out many surverys and nothing changes at this location, i went to pick up my truck yesterday, i had a 10:30 reservation, i got there at 10:20, i didn't get my truck until 10:55, there were only 3 people ahead of me, you had 1 person actually working, 3 people standing actually doing nothing watching this person work and then she had to go outside with a customer and we had to wait for her to come back in while the other employees were still watching and we were waiting in line, i think 35 minutes to pick up a truck is absurd, and it made me late for my appointment!!!EDWARD D.

Lock that was purchased online wasn't available in this store or anywhere nearby. Drive in door to facility was out of service. Carts provided aren't big enough to transport furniture on. Unfortunately, my family and I had a horrible experience renting from UHaul. The UHaul was rented for my move from my current apartment into my new apartment up the street. My father parked and turned off the UHaul in our designated loading zone. After one hour of loading the UHaul, my family tried to start the UHaul but the battery was dead. I tried calling UHaul, chatting online, and submitting a roadside assistance request. UHaul called us to let us know no one was available in the area to come out to jumpstart the UHaul. After submitting our request, we continually called and still after 6 hours UHaul was unable to come out to help us jump the UHaul. As a result, I missed my move time slot for my new apartment. My father has a triple A membership and we had to call triple A to jump our car after being stranded outside for 5 hours.GREGORY S.

There was one person working and he was working very hard He is very kind and accommodating and knowledgeable But he can't be everywhere at one time. People waited in line for a long time home I am because the computers were down it took us, over an hour and 20 minutes, to get an elevator to open and take us upstairs to our storage space. The card didn't work and the pin didn't work and the second pin we were given didn't work. And we called from the elevator but the one employee was very Busy and could not answer, so we waited at home while we waited and waited and we waited.
